This represents their Fall tour edition, which is also featuring Killswitch Engage and Mastodon. The show is scheduled for Friday, December 3rd at Sunset Station in San Antonio. Metal Masters' Righteous Revival

Toronto Star wrote an article about how "evil isn't what it used to be."

Parents groups, conservative politicians and religious wingnuts worried daily that exposure to metal was promoting everything from promiscuity, substance abuse and casual violence among teens to an overall increase in Satan's power over the surface of the earth. Tipper Gore, of the then-notorious Parents Music Resource Centre (PMRC), claimed the music told young people "It's okay to beat people up" and successfully lobbied for warning labels to be affixed to potentially offensive recordings. Geraldo Rivera presided over a straight-faced, primetime "news" special exploring the links between heavy metal and Satanism.

Ozzy Osbourne — already notorious in the midst of his drunken "lost years" for biting the heads off a dove and a bat (the latter, in Ozzy's defence, was accidental) — found himself dragged into California court over the first of two ludicrous legal claims that his song, "Suicide Solution," had convinced an unfortunate teenager to kill himself. British metallers Judas Priest would face a lawsuit of their own in Reno, Nevada a couple of years later when the families of two more suicidal teens claimed subliminal messages on the band's 1978 album, "Stained Class," had coaxed the boys to "do it." Slayer would be next in court in the '90s when three teens who murdered, then raped, a 15-year-old girl in a horrific "virgin sacrifice" claimed the band's blood-spattered lyrics were responsible.

Ancient Know How To Spell

Norwegian black metallers Ancient have issued the following statement regarding the song "Horroble" on their most recent CD, "Night Visit":

"After numerous unintelligent comments, made on certain reviews written by evidently unintelligent people about the title of the song 'Horroble', off Ancient's new album 'Night Visit', the band would like to communicate officially that the title is indeed a PLAY ON WORDS. It is a mix between the word 'horror' and the word 'horrible' and it is a concept about a horrorific attitude / state of mind. The lyrics will explain this. The band is very aware of the correct spelling of the word 'Horrible'. Sorry about this remark, but the band thought it was obvious. Evidently, for some people it isn't..."

The band's sixth album, "Night Visit" was released in June through Metal Blade Records. The follow-up to 2001's "Proxima Centauri" was recorded at Mirage and Alpha-Omega studios and was mixed at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden with producer Fredrik Nordström (Hammerfall, In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, Spiritual Beggars, etc.). Mastering was done at Sterling Sound in New York City.

Mnemic New MP3 Samples Posted Online

Two MP3 samples from the sophomore Mnemic album, "The Audio Injected Soul", have been posted online at the the group's official web site. Check out the songs "Deathbox" and "Door 2.12" at this location.

"The Audio Injected Soul", due on September 27 through Nuclear Blast Records, was recorded at AntFarm Studios in Aarhus, Denmark with producer Tue Madsen and is said to be "much faster and more dynamic" than last year's "Mechanical Spin Phenomena".

Commented the band in a posting on their web site: We are at the moment extremely busy doing press for the new album, and also preparing our new live set for the forthcoming tours. At the moment we are actually looking at different touring possibilities. This time around its going to be much more intense than it has ever been in our entire carriers. As soon as everything is in place, we will let you all know about it.

"Regarding all of you, who have leaked the album out on the Internet — cool, we don't mind, as long as you buy the album. The reason for me bringing this up, is because the 3D Dimensional sound was not included into the promo versions of the album. The final master was sent a couple of days later to the label, and this means that the 3D Sound is included on the final product, hence the tracklist is also different. All of this means again that you have to buy the album to have the full effect of the 'Audio Injected Soul'.

"We all know what day it is today -— the 11th September...i am not going to say anything else than this; These are very dark times we live in, we are all worms and we all feed on each other, please make it a better place for everyone."

Mnemic recently filmed a video for their new single, "Deathbox", with director Patric Ulleaus (Dimmu Borgir, In Flames, Lacuna Coil) of Revolver Films. The video was shot in Gothenburg, Sweden at the Revolver Studios. Check out pictures from the video shoot at this location.
