Stars Unite For Ozzy Osbourne Tribute Show

According to ContactMusic.com, a galaxy of stars — including Sir Elton John, Simon Cowell and Billy Connolly — are teaming up for a TV tribute to Ozzy Osbourne. The BLACK SABBATH singer will be joined by his famous family on the show, which will feature details of his near-fatal quad bike accident, and stories about his notorious alcohol and drug abuse.

And the program will feature such outrageous footage, TV executives have are making preparations to ensure it is shown late at night.

An insider says, "Ozzy's had one of the most outrageous lives and this is warts and all.

"It's definitely going to have to go out after 9:00 p.m."

Soilwork Frontman Updates From Louisville

Soilwork frontman, Björn "Speed" Strid, has posted this update on the band's official website:

Hi! What's up people!

We're playing an off show in Louisville with Killswitch and As i lay dying today. We've only done 2 off shows so far but both of them was really awesome! There seem to be a lot of people who hasn't seen us yet and really dig the shows, cool!!
Apparently there's been some fuck up with the video for "Nerve," some people may have seen the "Rejection Role" video presented as "Nerve" which of course is wrong! It's all taken care of now you'll get the right one anytime soon..
Hey Matt, I really wanna appologize to you for that misunderstanding in Columbus, i would never do such a thing as ignoring the fans, you can ask just anyone and they would tell you the same. It was all a misunderstanding, i didn't hear what you said (i'm pretty bad understanding fast american language sometimes actually) and got confused and there was another guy waiting in line who wanted stuff to be signed. So sorry once again and i would be more than glad to grab a beer with you some other time and i'll show you that i'm not a fucking guy with a rockstar attitude!
I big hail goes out to the crazy people coming out to the recent shows, we're having a blast everyday!! See you in Lousville tonight!

All my best, Speed

Ozzy Tells Doctor To Go Fuck Himself

Launch Radio Networks reports: BLACK SABBATH returned to Ozzfest yesterday (Thursday, August 4) after missing several dates due to an ailing Ozzy Osbourne. The group did their full headlining set at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan, with Osbourne warning the crowd early on, "If my voice breaks up from time to time, it's not my fault. I'm sick, as you know, but I told the doctor to go f**k himself. I'm doing the best I can, babes." BLACK SABBATH missed shows in Holmdel, New Jersey, on July 27; Noblesville, Indiana, on Sunday (July 31); and Columbus, Ohio, on Tuesday (August 2).

Osbourne's voice was noticeably rough yesterday, though he was in otherwise energetic form, mooning the audience at the start of the show, tossing a bucket of water on the front rows later on, and jumping around throughout.

Specific details about Osbourne's ailment have not been revealed, but sources told Launch it's primarily a throat problem.

Ozzfest continues tomorrow (Saturday, August 6) in East Troy, Wisconsin. However, Sunday's (August 7) show in Somerset, Wisconsin, has already been rescheduled to September 10, to give Osbourne a day off to rest his voice.

Zakk Wylde To Work On Live DVD, Compilation CD

According to an article on MTV.com, Black Label Society guitarist, Zakk Wylde, will be working on two projects once Ozzfest is over. The first is a DVD with live footage from several recent shows his Black Label Society played over in Paris and London; that, he said, could see release early next year. There's also a compilation CD that should be out around the same time, featuring all of the earliest BLS material as well as some bonus tracks, to be called "Kings of Damnation."

When asked what he thinks of Wicked Wisdom, it's not too surprising when Wylde replies, "What's that?" After being told that it's the Jada Pinkett Smith-fronted group that takes the stage long before he rolls out of bed, he asks, "What does Jada Pinkett Smith do?" When he finds out she's the Hollywood actress married to Will Smith, who's also been attending all of the Ozzfest dates, he perks up. "F---ing Will Smith's been on the Ozzfest? What the hell? I need to get an autograph, dude. 'I loved you in "Ali," bro.' "

Sammy Hagar: I Don't Get Along With Eddie Anymore

Sammy Hagar recently spoke to Billboard.com about Van Halen's 2004 reunion tour and his current solo trek, which he has dubbed 'The Tequila Made Me Do It'. According to Hagar, the Van Halen reunion didn't work out as planned, and he places the blame almost solely with guitarist Edward Van Halen. "The Van Halen thing wasn't a horrible experience, but it wasn't a great experience," he recalled. "I don't get along with Eddie anymore, and that's all there is to it. I think the whole world knows that he's changed. He used to be a great guy, a fun guy, but now he's miserable and he likes to make everyone around him miserable."

Vehemence Writing New Album

Vehemence are currently writing their next album for Metal Blade Records. According to the band, "We've been hard at work writing new songs for our next album! It has definitely gotten more technical, and we are really excited to show the world the new Vehemence. We are still working on getting Sean Vandegrift (our new vocalist) out of Ohio... He has an apartment lease which is keeping him there, but we are trying everything we can to get him out of his lease." The group intends to write roughly thirteen songs and has tentative plans to record the album late this year with James Murphy (of Death noteriety) in Florida. Meanwhile, the band has one more show remaining with original vocalist Nathan Gearhart. The performance will take place on September 10th at Metal Devastation 2 in Phoenix, AZ.
