Bleeding Through Working On Career & DVD

BLEEDING THROUGH's breakthrough album, "This Is Love…This Is Murderous", has surpassed over 100,000 albums scanned. The hard-touring Orange County, CA sextet learned the good news while in the midst of headlining the second annual Strhess Tour. The tour, sponsored by famed artist Derek Hess, features BLEEDING THROUGH with support from ZAO, DARKEST HOUR, MISERY SIGNALS and FIGHT PARIS. Even in the midst of all these big ticket outdoor summer tours, BLEEDING THROUGH has drawn sold out and capacity crowds every night. Since the release of "This Is Love…This Is Murderous" in late 2003, BLEEDING THROUGH have been on the road with no longer than two weeks off at a time. Stints with A.F.I., two headlining tours, co-headlining the "MTV Headbanger's Ball" tour with CRADLE OF FILTH and Ozzfest, as well as tours of Europe, Japan and Australia, have cemented the band's place at the top of the hardcore and metal groups of today.

"This Is Love…This Is Murderous" marked the band's debut for Trustkill Records and also was the first album with BLEEDING THROUGH as a full-time endeavor. The album also debuted a more melodic and fuller element to the band's European metal-influenced brand of hardcore.

Following Strhess, BLEEDING THROUGH and ZAO will join the Vans Warped Tour for its final two weeks through the East Coast. After that, BLEEDING THROUGH will complete work on their follow-up to "This Is Love…This Is Murderous" with producer Rob Caggiano (CRADLE OF FILTH) for a January 10, 2006 release. The group are also working on a career-spanning DVD that will feature new interviews, behind-the-scenes and backstage tour footage, two full live sets, and live versions of three new songs from "The Truth" for a fall release.

Nightwish's Single Enters Charts At 51

The Siren", the third single from NIGHTWISH's platinum album (in Finland) "Once", has entered the German Media Control single chart at position No. 51. The single also debuted on the Swiss national chart at No. 59. "The Siren" was released in Europe on July 25 as a five-track CD (including a cover of MEGADETH's "Symphony of Destruction") with a running time of more than 20 minutes. It was mastered by Mika Jussila at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki, Finland.

In other news, the cover artwork for NIGHTWISH's upcoming CD collection, entitled "Highest Hopes - The Best Of Nightwish", has been posted online at this location. "Highest Hopes - The Best Of Nightwish", will be released on September 28 in two different formats: normal version, and limited edition, featuring a bonus disc containing three video clips filmed at the Mera Luna Festival in Hildesheim, Germany in 2003: "She Is My Sin", "Dead to the World" and "Kinslayer".

As previously reported, NIGHTWISH will perform during the opening ceremony for the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federations) World Championships in Athletics on August 6 at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki, Finland. The Championships, which are scheduled to take place between August 6 and August 14, are expected to be televised in 180 countries, including the PAX national television network and Comcast Regional Sports Network (RSN) in the U.S.

All 11,000 tickets for NIGHTWISH's special October 21, 2005 concert at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki were sold out in less than an hour after they went on sale last month.

The Hartwall Arena show will be NIGHTWISH's last before they take a lengthy break, estimated to last for at least 18 months, during which they will compose and record the follow-up to their highly successful "Once" album.

NIN Launch Special Concert Ticketing Program

NINE INCH NAILS has launched a special ticketing program for its upcoming run of U.S. tour dates. A two-tiered effort to combat ticket scalping has been put in place to help ensure that true fans have the maximum opportunity to obtain premium seating for NINE INCH NAILS concerts. Through the band's fan club ticketing and online auction program, NINE INCH NAILS is helping prevent scalpers from its selling tickets at inflated unauthorized prices and, in true Robin Hood fashion, NINE INCH NAILS will donate to charity, what would have been the scalper's proceeds.

Phase one of the program established a unique NINE INCH NAILS fan club, to enable members to exclusively obtain the very best tickets for the tour. In an effort to reduce scalper access no other advance ticket programs through venues, radio stations, e-mail lists or sponsors were offered. Members who purchase tickets through the NIN fan club program will be directed to pick up their tickets 30 minutes before doors open in each city and will be immediately escorted into the venue. Tickets will not be distributed to buyers in advance.

NIN's Trent Reznor explained: "We've put extra effort into developing this program as an effective way to ensure that NINE INCH NAILS fans get into the show with the best possible tickets. The only complaints will be from scalpers and those who want to put our true fans at a disadvantage."

The second phase of the ticketing program includes a series of online auctions conducted through Ticketmaster. Beginning, Monday, August 8 at noon local time, fans may log on to www.ticketmaster.com to bid on premium concert tickets for NIN shows at 19 venues throughout the U.S. and Canada. Auctions for additional shows will go live on August 22.

Ticketmaster's David Goldberg explains: "These auctions give NINE INCH NAILS the ability to take money that might otherwise go into scalpers' pockets, and put it in the hands of a deserving organization."

Proceeds from the online auctions will be directed to the non-profit organization The Innocence Project, which provides post-conviction DNA testing which yield conclusive proof of innocence. Reznor notes, "We know we cannot stop all ticket reselling but if we can redirect some of that unauthorized margin to a good cause like the Innocence Project, it makes me feel like we have done something worthwhile."

Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld created the Innocence Project in 1992. It was set up as and remains a non-profit legal clinic. This Project only handles cases where post conviction DNA testing of evidence can yield conclusive proof of innocence. All Innocence Project clients go through an extensive screening process to determine whether or not DNA testing of evidence could prove their claims of innocence. Peter Neufeld comments, "The Innocence Project is thrilled to be the beneficiary of the band's generosity. The wave of post-conviction DNA exonerations sends a message to all of us that the criminal justice system is broken and desperately needs to be fixed. Thank you NINE INCH NAILS for joining us in the quest for meaningful justice."

NINE INCH NAILS' fourth album, "With Teeth", was released on May 3 and debuted at number one on the Billboard Top 200. Before their U.S. arena tour, the band will embark on a tour of Japan and Australia. Concert dates with auction info listed: www.nin.com/tour/index.html

Mortiis Comment on BOBT, Release DVD

Norway's MORTIIS has commented on their participation of the forthcoming Blackest Of The Black 2005 Tour featuring DANZIG, CHIMAIRA, BEHEMOTH, HIMSA and THE AGONY SCENE:

"I think it's a very interesting package and should draw a rather diverse crowd. I'm a big fan of pretty much everything DANZIG ever put out, and always loved his classic horror approach to image and art. I can totally relate to that, given our own image isn't that far removed from what he did early on in THE MISFITS."

MORTIIS' one and only tour of America was in 1999 with CHRISTIAN DEATH. "If anyone saw us then and comes to see us now, they're in for a bit of a shock," said Mortiis. "A lot has changed and everything that we used to be has been killed off to make way for a new monster."

MORTIIS' first DVD, entitled "Soul in a Hole," will be released November 1. The DVD was filmed last year in London during the two-month "The Unlimited Grudge Tour" tour with SUSPERIA. The DVD will contain four bonus videos, photo galleries, interviews, and other extras, in addition to live footage.

Kataklysm - New Album Nearing Completion

KATAKLYSM frontman Maurizio Iacono has posted the following message on the band's official website:

"Greetings!

The artwork contest is now over... We would like to thank everyone, from our fans to artists from the 4 corners of the world that have sent in their visions. The response was great!!... Now we've got to go through all of them (there's shitloads to look at!) and make a decision with our record label Nuclear Blast, so bare with us and we'll let you know who the winner is soon...

Just flew back to Chicago this morning from Montreal. I finished all my vocal tracks for the new album and I must say this was the most difficult album I've had to record! Some of these songs have crazy tempos and I had to step it up a notch, but I'm very happy with the end result... According to J-F the album should be finished in a few weeks."

Genghis Tron Tour Cancelled After To Van Wreck

Genghis Tron wiped out in New Mexico, ending their US tour in support of their debut CDEP, "Cloak Of Love". The band wrecked after hitting a bunny at 70mph.

"We're all back home safely now, taking time to relax and spend time with our families and ladyfriends," says guitarist Hamilton. "The crash was pretty terrifying, and we're still shocked to be alive and unharmed, five days after the fact. After hitting a jackrabbit in the New Mexico desert going 70 MPH, we lost control and rolled off the highway, landing upside down. Our vehicle and the trailer - which was ripped off our rig and flung a good 20 or 30 feet into the desert - were both completely totalled. A good amount of our stuff inside the trailer was messed up, but luckily a decent chunk of equipment seems to have survived the crash safely - if terribly banged up. We're having the surviving stuff shipped back home in August, upon when we will touch it tenderly and take it in for repairs. We'll probably put a lot of our t-shirts on sale online as a fund-raiser then, too. It's gonna take a long time before we can get all of this settled with insurance and save up/borrow the money to replace everything else which was lost, but we're not going to let such a situation deter us from making music and playing shows. It's just going to take a while. We hope to be road-ready by the end of the year so that we can tour in December and/or January. We'll eventually hit all of the spots where we had to cancel shows; it'll just take a while. Don't forget about us out there!"

"In the meantime, we're gonna focus on getting things back to normal as well as working on hard on material for our upcoming album. Thanks for all of the emails and messages in the last week. It means a lot to hear from people who care about our music. We'll keep you updated."

Hammerfall Guitarist Issues Update

Hammerfall guitarist Oscar Dronjak has posted the following message on the band's official web site:

There has been a venue change on the upcoming U.S. tour [with Edguy]: the gig on August 20th in Covington, KY, has been moved to Newport Music Hall in Columbus, OH. Same date and time applies, but the city and venue has been changed. Hope this doesn’t affect your concert going in a negative way! If you live in the U.S. and like melodic heavy metal, be sure to not miss this tour. You are in for a night you’ll never forget, I guaran-damn-tee you that!

The Stratovarius [European] tour in the fall may or may not be with a support act. We will have a meeting in Wacken the coming weekend to see what the people in the bands want to do. Hopefully, we’ll have more info on this next week. I know many bands are interested in the slot, but for us — and definitely for the crew — things would be much easier without another band. Also, this way, both HF and STRATO can play a little longer each night, which should be better for the fans. Or am I wrong?

The curse of the MetalTown festival continues; it was, with a word, wet. Last year, it was without a doubt the worst day of the entire summer, with around 7°C and constant raining. Last Saturday, the weather gods decided to have another go at ruining the festival by opening up the heavens once again. With the exception of an hour in the middle of the day, it was absolutely pouring down the entire festival. But did that stop the heavy metal movement? Certainly not! I would estimate between 7000 and 10000 people made the trip to Frihamnen in Göteborg, to witness Rammstein, Hammerfall, Dark Tranquillity and others, and to defy the meteorological deities and prove that, in the words of Mikael Stanne (DT): 'There is no such thing as bad weather, only slow, fucking music!'

Hammerfall's latest album, "Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken," was released in March. The follow-up to 2002's "Crimson Thunder" was produced and mixed by Charlie Bauernfeind (Blind Guardian, Helloween).

Gorefest Reveal "La Muerte" Tracklisting

Gorefest guitarist, Frank, has posted this message regarding their upcoming album on their official website:

It is done. Klaar. Finished. Es ist vollbracht.

An hour ago we completed the La Muerte sessions. 5 weeks of letting the Metal flow every way possible. Fast, slow, hyperfast, ultraslow, grooving, marching, bleeding and sweating. We're all very pleased with the results so far, now it's up to Mr. Madsen to mix everything 'till speakers bleed.

Very special thanks to Hans en Dennis at Excess Studio for putting up with us and all of our peculiar habits, and for helping us with everything they could. Much appreciated!

We're taking a few days rest, and friday it's off to Wacken Open Air. After that, on August 6, we'll be rocking the Turkish nation in Istanbul. We've never been there before, and we're really looking forward to it!

The final tracklist for "La Muerte" is, in no particular order:

For The Masses
Man To Fall
You Could Make Me Kill
The New Gods
When The Dead Walk The Earth
Malicious Intent
Of Death And Chaos (A Grand Finale)
'Till Fingers Bleed
The Fifth Crusade
Rogue State

New God Forbid Album Details Revealed

On September 20, 2005 Century Media Records will release God Forbid's "IV: Constitution of Treason," their fourth full-length release. Produced by Jason Suecof (Trivium) and Eric Rachel (Atreyu, Dillinger Escape Plan), the album -- a socially and politically charged vision of a post-apocalyptic world -- further displays the incredible creativity and talent of one of the most highly respected bands in metal today. To hear the first available music from "IV: Constitution of Treason," check out the new issue of Revolver to find out how you can download the album's opening track ("The End of the World") as part of the magazine's "Bootleg Series".

Lead guitarist Doc Coyle comments on this highly anticipated album:

I'm extremely excited for our fans, new and old, to get a listen of this album. It's a big step for God Forbid and I feel that we have made our most diverse, deep and emotional record with out sacrificing heaviness or artistic identity. In a current musical environment, where there seem to a lot of boring, safe records, I feel confident that we've continued to take chances while challenging ourselves to be a better band. With all of that said, we made the record we wanted to make, and we couldn't be happier with the results.
