Vocalist Sauron Leaves Decapitated

After nine years Sauron has announced he is leaving Decapitated. His position in the band is going to be taken over by Covan, a previous member of Atrophia Red Sun. He is going to take part in the recording of the new album and the forthcoming gigs of the band.

Here is Sauron's statement pertaining to this situation:

"After long consideration I have decided to leave Decapitated. It was not an easy decision, however, I could reconcile the welfare of the band with my personal plans, and hence quitting appeared to be the best solution not hampering the evolution of Decapitated. In the face of the wide-scaled plans of the band I had to decide between being a member of Decapitated and my personal objectives. Moreover, another reason that contributed to my decision have been some health complications. In the first place I would like to thank my friends from the band for those nine years. I would also like to salute all the fans and people who supported us throughout all those years. I’m turning the mike over to an appropriate person, and what is more, I’m sure that this change will do good to the band. Respect and good luck, Covan! For my part, I’m going to keep track of Decapitated and support them in every possible way.
Regards. Sauron."

Helloween Announce New Album Title

The new Helloween studio album will be titled "Keeper Of The Seven Keys - The Legacy" and will be released on the 31st of October 2005. The new Helloween songs inherit elements that connect to the lyrical concept of the first two highly successful 'Keeper OF The Seven Keys' albums. The new Helloween compositions offer intricate arrangements, many speed changes, gifted drum breaks and epic sounds. A renewed team spirit prevailing during pre-production encouraged the band members to hold intense rehearsal room sessions with a fresh inspiration, resulting in the band choosing "Keeper of The Seven Keys - The Legacy" as the title for their new album. The 'Keeper Of The Seven Keys - The Legacy World Tour 2005/2006', is set for November 18th 2005 and will lead the band around the globe for roughly six months.

The first single from the yet-to-be-titled new Helloween studio album (release date October 31st) will be called "Mrs. God” (release date July 4th, Southeast Asia July 6th).

Apart from the title track, the single will contain various bonus features such as an exclusive non album track, one album track and the video for “Mrs. God”, which will be shot in Nueremberg / Germany beginning of May.

Due to a strong positive development of said track during the recording sessions, the band spontaneously decided to favor “Mrs. God” over the previously selected track “Come Alive”.

On November 18th, their world tour will kick off in the Czech Republic. Europe will be toured extensively until end of January; in February the band will be playing in Asia, followed by concerts in North and South America from March on.

Upcoming Helloween tour dates: More...

Wolverine Issues Recording Update

Swedish Prog-Rockers, Wolverine are currently recording the follow-up to 2003's "Cold Light of Monday," tentatively due later in the year through Elitist/Earache. The following recording update was posted on the band's official web site:

Yesterday the recording of the drums began and to our great delight Marcus managed to lay down all songs except one on their first takes. The result is really great. It's always nice to be able to capture that extra energy that you tend to have during your first takes of a song. We recorded the drums at Studio Soundcreation in Bollnäs together with Per Ryberg with whom we recorded our very first EP with back in 1998. The reason we do the drums here and the rest at Spacelab is that it's darn expensive to transport the drums from Sweden to Germany. On Sunday we're off to Spacelab to continue our work. Can't wait!

Soilwork Frontman Checks In With Tour Report

Soilwork frontman Speed has checked in with the following update:

Hi there!!

I´ve just come home from Germany. Been very busy lately, first the recording of Terror 2000 and then the recording with Thomen from Blind Guardian and as you probably know we have done festivals in between with Soilwork at Graspop and Furyfest. Both of the festivals were fucking amazing, a lot of people and great respone! A big thanx to all the people who made it a memorable experience! Had the chance to check out some good bands as well, i saw Slayer from stage (man, Mr.Lombardo is in amazing shape, fucking great!!), I saw a few songs with System of a down which was also very cool.. I also had the chance to talk to the guys from Mastodon, really nice guys! Later that evening i got pretty shitfaced and hooked up with the drummer from Mastodon and we sung some falsetto King Diamond hits from the Abigail album, i tell you the drummer has a pretty descent falsetto he he.. Anyways, Ozzfest is around the corner, just ten days until we´re heading off to the states... Can´t wait to start doing the rock n roll circus.. I can assure you that we´ll blow your minds away, we have selected the perfect 20 min set for you guys (it was really hard though..) To me it seems like a perfect mix...I´ll talk to ya soon..take care!!

All my best, Speed
