Mushroomhead Beat Evanescense In Radio Battle
MUSHROOMHEAD will release its new album Savior Sorrow on September 19th, 2006. The band recently debuted its first single "Simple Survival" on several stations across the USA. At KRQR, it was a "David and Goliath" story of arguably the biggest commercial rock band in the USA going up against an arsty metal band. MUSHROOMHEAD's "Simple Survival" went up against EVANESCENCE's "Call Me When You're Sober" on KRQR's "Cockfight" on August 24th, which left MUSHROOMHEAD the clear winner and champ.
"It feels really good this time around. Radio seems to really dig it. And it's a new chapter in our evolution. There are sounds on this album that sound so melodic, yet brutal and huge. The album is quite diverse, yet retains a MUSHROOMHEAD dynamic," says drummer Skinny.
Savior Sorrow was produced by Steve Felton and MUSHROOMHEAD at Cleveland's Filthy Hands Studios in April 2006. MUSHROOMHEAD's prior release, XIII, entered the Billboard Top 200 at #40 and went on to sell 400,000 copies worldwide.

About the new album, Sigh frontman/leader Mirai Kawashima says, “It’ll definitely be by far the best album by us. The album is going to be the fastest, the most violent and the most symphonic ever recorded by Sigh!”
He describes the sound as, “thrash-metal-meets-German-symphonies! Fast, heavy, bombastic and majestic!’
The final tracklisting for Hangman's Hymn - Musikalische Exequien is as follows:

Behind Crimson Eyes Sign To Roadrunner Australia
Roadrunner Records Australia has announced the signing of Melbourne's Behind Crimson Eyes.
Jon Satterley, MD of Roadrunner Australia, enthused:
"Thought-provoking, aggressive, experimental, independent?.Behind Crimson Eyes have demonstrated over the past 2 years that their unique and personal brand of emo-tinged heavy rock is light years ahead of the rest of the Australian scene. We are privileged to have this exciting band join Roadrunner's international roster."
Prior to signing, Behind Crimson Eyes have been instrumental in their own successes, which have included:
-The Art Of War debuted at number 17 on the Australasian Aria charts
-The Art Of War debuted at Number 1 on the last ever Triple J Net 50 program
The band played the main stage of the Melbourne Taste Of Chaos at Rod Laver Arena last year
Josh Stuart, BCE vocalist, on the signing to Roadrunner:
"We don't have to compromise our values for them to market our music. They are of the school of thought that the band makes the music and the label does the marketing. So they basically told us to make whatever record we want. And this is what we've done."
Behind Crimson Eyes are currently putting the finishing touches to their debut album, recorded at Sing Sing studios Melbourne and produced by Richard Stolz (also producer of the band's former EPs).
Underoath Not Breaking Up, Dismisses Rumors
After remaining relatively silent since the dropped off the Warped tour in in late July, Underoath has finally made a cryptic statement about their status as a band and some of the various rumours that surfaced in the aftermath. One of the more popular rumours was the NOFX's Fat Mike had somehow tormented the band to such an extent that the band had left the tour, one that Mike quickly refuted.
Instead, the band left this brief statement:
"Don't belive the rumors, Underoath did not break up, no one has been kicked out or quit or in rehab or any other silly places people are talking about. The dudes are getting ready to do their Canadian tour and then Taste of Choas international and then will do a headline tour in the US after that."
The wildly popular Christian metalcore act is supporting their 2006 full length, Define the Great Line.
Report From Obituary DVD Shoot Issued
Metal Mind Productions have issued the following report regarding last night's OBITUARY DVD shoot in Poland:
"August 24th is a date that some people will remember for a long time. All due to a fantastic performance given by OBITUARY – one of the best death metal bands around. And they proved that again last night at one off gig in Stodola Club in Warsaw, Poland. This special show was recorded for the future DVD release, so luckily people who didn’t attend this show will have the opportunity to see what happened there (the release date is planned for November 2006 on Metal Mind Productions).
Obituary in line-up: John Tardy – vocal, Allen West – guitar, Trevor Peres – guitar, Frank Watkins – bass, Donald Tardy - drums played following tracks:
Intro: 'Rain', 'Redneck Stomp', 'On The Floor', 'Insane', 'Chopped In Half', 'Turned Insideout', 'Dying', 'Internal Bleeding', 'Back To One', 'Find The Arise', 'Back Inside', 'Threatening Skies', 'By The Light', 'Kill For Me', 'Solid State', 'Stand Alone', 'Back From The Dead', Drum Solo, 'Lockjaw', 'Slow Death', '‘Til Death', 'Slowly We Rot'.
Bands members were in ultra TOP form so they easily made the 800-people crowd ecstatic. Great stage design and over 1.5 hour long set recorded by seven cameras promise great results on the final DVD. Future, yet untitled, DVD will include most if not all of tracks played in Warsaw and also an interview conducted a day earlier, on Wednesday (August 23rd). More details to be announced soon."

Korn's Jonathan Davis Interviewed By Tagworld.com
Korn frontman Jonathan Davis recently met up with Tagworld.com to talk about his record label and the future plans for the band. You can watch the interview here and read on for a transcript.
Patty- Tell us about your record label?
Jonathan- I have my record label which is Elementree Records. It’s basically an imprint now and I’m looking for a band that I really believe in and I can get behind. I hooked up with, and have always been a huge Deadsy fan and I’ve always taken them when they’ve been on different labels. I got them signed through Immortal, which is the label that signed us when we first started out with “Happy”. I love the band Deadsy, and I love giving artists a chance to get their stuff out there if they’re doing something original and is true to them. They’re one of those bands that when you hear a Deadsy song you know it’s a Deadsy song. I’m really excited about that. I’m just a music freak. I love making music and listening to music. It’s given me a chance to put out things that I like.
Patty - What’s the future for Korn after “Family Values”?
Jonathan- After “Family Values” I think we’re going to be going back into the studio and making another record. So, we’re planning on getting another one out there and then touring in Europe starting next year, and then we will be touring again for another year.
Patty - What about the sound on the new record. Is it going to be something new?
Jonathan- Yeah, it’s going to be something different. We try to change up each album. We’re not tying to do “See you on the Other Side” part two. We’re going to work with the same producers and maybe some new ones. We’re trying to do something different this time around. We’re really excited. I can’t wait to get back into the studio because I love to do this.
Patty - How has the internet played a part in your success?
Jonathan- The internet has always played a big part in our success. We really embraced it early on. We started back in the early 90’s. We were one of the first bands to do a live internet broadcast. We did a live TV show. It was called “Korn Mingling the Web.” It landed us in Time Magazine. We’ve always pioneered new technology. It’s hard to keep up with everything coming out, but we pretty much kept up and taken advantage of that. There are different sites people can go to and experience different music. It’s just amazing because there’s this huge network and everybody can get to it. Everyone has a chance to get into music, or get into movies if that’s what they’re interested in.
Patty - Do you spend a lot of time on the Net? Does it drive your life?
Jonathan- I don’t think it drives my life, but I’m on all the time surfing and stuff, and playing online games.
Patty - What’s your favorite online game?
Jonathan- Definitely World of Warcraft.
Patty - There are so many unsigned bands trying to make it. Do you have any advice for them?
Jonathan- Just keep playing and believe in yourself. If you’ve got something really special then go for it, it can happen. That’s what we did. We were just some guys from Bakersfield. No one knew who we were. We worked really really hard and it paid off for us.
