Yes! I was so frightened that they would loose their edge, like almost every other band now-a-days. But here they are, kicking so much f***ing ass, still! I love COF! They've been my favorite for years. They'll never sell-out.
Now.. after the CD comes out, time to wait for another DVD and another rockin' Schlockumentary. ^_^

"Dirge Inferno" renvokes their older style, except the sound is not as eerie as Principle, Cruelty and Vempire. I am not going to make too many judgements on just one song, but I find the guitar parts repeative although Dani is magnificent and imaginative as ever (I am loving the lyrics). All in all this dirge is a very promising prospect for the album to come (which does have a rather peculiar title though -Thornography- )

not bad i still think thier lacking in sound since Damnation And A Day i really thought they should
bring back Gyan back into the fold Midian and Cruelty And The Beast had a far heavier sound
than their material now but at least this song sounds a hell of a lot better than that godawful
Nyphetamine.

I did prefer the 'Midian' album but this song does kick serious ass. I'm just gonna say I really can't wait for their new album and they have just announced the UK tour dates, already booked tickets, I wouldn't miss it for the world, third time I've seen them, all times they have f***ing rocked! I thought Roadrunner would change them into more like the Nymphetamine style album, but they have gone darker and more heavier in a way than the previous album.
Cradle of Filth have been my favourite since 1994, since I was 3 years old! And I'm not stopping now, can't wait for my tattoo with their logo!

The new song sounds awesome, as does everything they make.
Let me say this. I have always loved Cradle of Filth, every album is unique and awesome in its own way. They have such a variety of sound, unique vocals, and such well written poetic, tasteful lyrics. Cradle of Filth is great because they are always experimenting and trying new creative approaches to song writing. No matter how much they change they always have that Cradle of Filth vibe. They get shat on by closed minded purists all the time for stupid reasons. Every time they experiment with thier sound or join a bigger record label they are labeled as sellouts. Variety and better production value is a good thing. If you want uninventive music that sound like its been played through a phone go listen to northern moonforest. That brings me to another thing. THEY ARE NOT BLACK METAL. They have been extreme gothic metal from the start! Stop calling them watered down black metal because its a completly different genre! I prefer melodic and complex music to people grunting to a repetitive riff about how they love satan when they know nothing about real satanism and are just using it for image. As for those who complain about fake metal kids liking Cradle of Filth and using that as an excuse to call them sellouts...DIE IN A FIRE! Cradle of Filth is the band that introduced me to real metal, I used to be a fake metal kid UNTIL I listened to them! I listen to so many great bands now: Cradle of Filth, Pagan Reign, Angtoria, Rhapsody of Fire, Luca Turulli, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Nightwish, Gamma Ray, Helloween, Tvangeste, Darkmoor, Battlelore, Dragonforce, Dragonland, Dimmu Borgir, Rob Zombie, King Diamond, White Zombie, Merciful Fate, Bal Sagoth, Edguy, Lichking, Powesword, Blind Guardian, and more! That's alot of different stuff, and alot of those no fake metal kid would have everheard of, especially powersword and lichking who are just starting off. You should be HAPPY Cradle of Filth is getting noticed, it will introduce more people to real metal, and who cares if posers are wearing thier merchandise? f*** them, who cares. It should not get in the way of your enjoyment of the band. Those who are always calling them gay, well that is just a really stupid insult to begin with, stupid people will call just about anything they don't like gay. Cradle of Filth is not afriad to express themselves no matter how people might react. They are over the top and flamboyant because they want to be and they don't care. That takes self esteem. Is being afriad to express yourself STRAIGHT? Is acting like everyone else just because people might insult you STRAIGHT? That's f***ing retarded. I really respect Cradle of Filth as a band, I love everything about them especially their message. Do what you enjoy, give in to your desires. Do not let anything, be it religion, society, or whatever get in the way of your persuit of happiness. You only live once as far as we know, why waste it? That is how I live my life. I do whatever I want and I like whatever I want and I am happy being myself.
Forever a fan,
Adrian Ebonmoon, The Lich King.

yep, i too am in f***ing love with COF, but especially midian (lord abortion for ever)
and am sick of groupies wearing there sh** and they havvn't even herd their music. I got so annoyed at them one day that i pulled one over, started talking to him and asked him what his favorite song was and he kinda stood there, looked at his shirt and said "uuhh midian". i mean for f***s sake people, listen to the music you're supporting. f***.

Dirge Inferno is a decent song. Unfortunately though, it is one of the only two songs on the cd that is. The other is the instrumental, Rise Of The Pentagram. The rest of this album blows. Don't get me wrong, I love COF and I appreciate what they tried to do this time around, but it just doesn't work for them. Especially the melodic choruses. Don't waste any money on this $hit!!!
