The record — the band's seventh — sticks to INCANTATION's tried and true recipe for brutal death metal, complemented with more leads and a crushing production.
"We feel very strong about the new material," said guitar/vocalist/founding member John McEntee. "We never seem to run out of unholy dark metal movements."
"Primordial Domination" was recorded at Mars Recording Compound during the spring with the band's current lineup of McEntee, drummer Kyle Severn, and bassist Joe Lombard. The album was recorded with engineer Bill Korecky, whom the band has worked on its previous five releases.
"These songs are really cool," Korecky said. "The band approached me with a great production idea. They always move forward." More...

Slipknot Lyrics Found At Site Of Grave Robbery
A grave was found robbed Tuesday morning at the Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Kenneth Brooks, sexton of the cemetery, was working at about 11 a.m. that day when he found evidence of a crime unique in his experience.
"The ground was turned up," Kenneth Brooks said, on the recently laid grave of Justin Manning.
Manning died July 25 in a car wreck on I-70 near the I-435 exit when the pickup truck he was riding in rammed a highway sign pole.
The container with the ashes that had been in the grave was taken.
Manning's mother, Angela Bickham, said, "I don't know what I think now. It's unbelievable -- it's beyond even being able to comprehend how someone can kidnap an urn."
Bickham said she didn't know who could have robbed the grave. There had been some trouble at Manning's funeral, where his friends wanted to bury a hat and some CDs with his urn.
Bickham said she didn't want to name those friends while the police investigation is ongoing.
A note found nearby had lyrics to the song "Surfacing" by the heavy metal band Slipknot.
Brooks said "two or three" other notes had been found nearby when he noticed the dug up grave at about 11 a.m. Tuesday. The notes had blown away by the time Bonner Springs Police had arrived on the scene. Police officers, Brooks and other city staff then searched the cemetery for the other notes, to no avail.
"We've had trouble with this particular grave," Brooks said.
Schubert said ropes, still visible Tuesday morning, had been left earlier on the gravesite tied in nooses, "apparently by friends" of the deceased. A metallic-looking guitar pick was also found on the site, and a flower wrapped in plastic that appeared to have been left recently.
There were also footprints, Schubert said.
Brad Harrington, of Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, which handled funeral arrangements for the deceased, said "the person who did it has no idea the damage they've inflicted. I feel sorry for the family."
At the funeral for the deceased, there had been a disturbance in which some of the attendees were "disrespectful," in Harrington's estimation. Harrington said he couldn't speculate as to whether the incident at the funeral was related to the grave robbery.
The Bonner Springs Police Department asks that anyone with information on the grave robbery call Detective Tim Pierce at 422-7800.

Strapping Young Lad Checks In From The Road
Strapping Young Lad guitarist Jed Simon recently gave an update on his current happenings as well as that of SYL, here's what he had to say:
"Ozzfest is all over, and wow, what a ride. Again, I'm amazed at the tolerance the fans have shown for being able to withstand the heat and show their fave bands some love. We salute you all, and thanks so much for being there for us all. There are many people to thank, but that's a long list so I'll just say thanks to all and you know who you are. Everyone on the second stage was a pleasure to work with. EVERYONE. There were some very cool people on the main stage too and again, you know who you are and we love ya!
For the last week or two, we had James Macdonough (ex-Iced Earth, Megadeth) playing bass for us filling in for Byron Stroud. He is a real class act, and was a pleasure to have on the tour. Thank you James! It's kinda strange to be in mid-song and look over and see someone other than Byron totally rocking out, but it's awesome that he came out to give us a hand.
We have all made our respective journeys home, and it's nice to be able to relax for a bit. Now we await the arrival of baby Dev. I'm sure he and his wife Tracy will have much on their hands in the coming months, and we wish them the very best. With SYL on hiatus until next year I'm finally going to be getting to work on my 'solo' thing. Solo is not a cool word, but I guess that's what it is. So watch for that next year sometime on Century Media. For those of you who don't know, it's called Tenet, and will be some good old-fashioned metal without those goddamn-fucking keyboards. There is also some rumor that Byron and I will do a new Zimmers Hole album. If we can work it out that would be cool. The other dudes will be busy with their respective side stuff too, Byron with Fear Factory, Gene with Hurt and Punchdrunk and Devin with his new baby. So, we'll all be busy in some way. We came, we ?Stormed With Menace' and now we're home. So good people, you all rock, and we'll see you, in one form or another, soon."
Underground Metal Scene On The Rise In Egypt
The Associated Press has released an article about heavy metal's second rise in Egypt. Here's an excerpt:
"We are Arab Muslims. We respect our religion. But we only love this music," said Noor, a 23-year-old part-time German language teacher and guitarist for Dark Philosophy, a pioneering Egyptian heavy metal band.
Noor has no illusions that the raucous music is likely to catch on big-time in a society where many young
adults still date with a chaperone.
"The first step is always the hard one," he said. "People are not used to our music and songs yet. People cannot get over all the negativities that happened in the past."
In January 1997, about 100 heavy metal and rock music fans were arrested in Cairo by state security officers on suspicious of satanic worship—a serious allegation in a country where respect for organized religion runs deep.
Egypt's state-controlled media carried stories of clandestine parties with drugs, group sex and bizarre satanic rituals including exhuming corpses and killing cats to drain their blood. Fans were ridiculed as spoiled rich kids seeking to fill empty lives with loud music, sex and drugs.
Egyptian authorities have banned heavy metal concerts. But as police controls eased over time, fans organized discreet gatherings, usually in remote areas around Cairo and Alexandria.
Several hundred fans—guys with goatees and Zodiac tattoos, girls with spiked hair and nose rings—turned out on a recent Friday afternoon in a rented house on the outskirts of Cairo. In shaggy raven black hair and T-shirts with gothic symbols, they came to proclaim "Egypt metal's second wave."

Threat Signal's "Counterbalance" Video Online
Just days before the release of their debut album Under Reprisal on Nuclear Blast Records, Canadian metal hopefuls THREAT SIGNAL have launched a self-produced video for the song "Counterbalance". The clip features footage of the band on the road, in the studio with producer Christian Olde Wolbers of Fear Factory, snippets from the "Rational Eyes" production video shoot, and plenty of live footage from North American shows as well as the band's recent appearance at Germany's Earthshaker Festival. The new video was shot and put together by the band and their crew themselves and can be seen on YouTube (or below).
Meanwhile THREAT SIGNAL are boiling with excitement about the Under Reprisal North American release this Tuesday, August 22nd and the chance to play Earthshaker. Vocalist Jon Howard speaks from his home in Hamilton, Ontario..."Ever since I was a kid I've dreamed of releasing an album, and next week that dream becomes a reality. Words cannot describe the excitement! Under Reprisal has been released in Europe for a few months now, and has been doing great. However now it is being released on our home turf, and we'll actually get to see our album in stores, our video played, and even hear our music on the radio, it's a trip. Playing the Earthshaker Fest was just completely ridiculous. They treated us like fuckin rock stars. We played on a gigantic stage where we could actually move around, and to thousands of people who most of them knew who we were! Germany rules!"
THREAT SIGNAL will hit the road in October 5th for a five-week North American tour supporting Soilwork, Darkest Hour and Mnemic, sponsored by Decibel Magazine. "I've always been a huge fan of Soilwork, and our band is actually influenced by Soilwork," admits Howard. "I must have seen that band perform at least 5 times last year, and every show I was wishing we could open for them, now we are. Watch out for THREAT SIGNAL boys!"
You can check out Threat Signal's ecard that includes full bio, tour dates, downloads and the entire "Rational Eyes" video here.

Deftones' "Saturday Night Wrist" Tracklisting
Billboard.com reports: The Deftones will break a three-year silence on October 31 with fifth studio album, "Saturday Night Wrist." The 12-track set features a guest appearance from System Of A Down vocalist Serj Tankian on "Mein" and Giant Drag frontwoman Annie Hardy on the electronica-tinged "Pink Cellphone."
Deftones drummer Abe Cunningham told Billboard.com in February that the band nearly broke up while soldiering through "Saturday Night Wrist," which he describes as "a very complete record."
"If there was a VH1 'Behind the Music' special on us, it would be the perfect episode with divorces and all kinds of crap," he said. "It was just lack of communication. Thankfully, we've been reattaching our limbs."
The album kicks off with the detuned riff-fest "Hole in the Earth" and is further highlighted by heavy, melodic tracks such as "Cherry Waves," the punishing "Combat" and "Rats," which careens from screamed verses to a less in-your-face chorus. The set also features an instrumental, "Interlude."
The Deftones are in the midst of the Family Values tour with Korn.
Here is the track list for "Saturday Night Wrist":
"Hole in the Earth"
"FM"
"Beware"
"Cherry Waves"
"Mein"
"Interlude"
"Tilde"
"Rats"
"Pink Cellphone"
"Combat"
"The Earth"
"Comanche"

This Week In Metal - August 17th, 2006
A new top album ? Its true, this week Strapping Young Lad takes over the top spot from Shadows Fall. Both of these bands are very deserving, but we crown our second #1 in as many weeks. Last weeks top 7 managed to stay on the chart, but jump around a little bit. While we have 3 brand new albums debuting this week, with one going as high as #6 in Voivod's Katorz. This is quite possibly the best album these guys have released and they are finally getting the notority they deserve. Not far behind them in the new releases is Unearths' III: The Eyes Of Fire, which is amazing considering it hasnt been released in alot of areas yet but the pre-orders are astounding. I see a #1 in the future for these guys, but who can knock off the consistancy SYL is showing. All That Remains also leapfrogged The Shads into the #2 slot and the big jumper was Between The Buried And Me gaining three slots, which is hard to do considering the company they are in. Meanwhile, Cellador dropped from 8th to 11th. Acacia Strain from 9th to 14th and BYD to 12th. New albums already making a storm up the charts are Slayers "Christ Illusion" with pre-ordering alone landing it inside the top 20. Hatebreed's Supremecy is also showing strong and will reach the top 10 next week. Also in responding to the comments I am considering making this, and the singles list a top 15. If you think its a good idea please respond so, or if thats too much tell me to keep it at 10. \m/.
