As The Kingdom Falls Bassist Departs

Bassist and founding member of Maryland metal band As The Kingdom Falls, Andrew Markle, has announced his departure from the band.

"Its Andrew just letting you know whats going on. I have stepped down from my position in As the Kingdom Falls. I feel it would just be better for me if I parted ways now. Why? Just musical differences. I need some time to think about things. I'm still on good terms with almost everyone. Their new music is a lot different but I feel it will be well accepted by everyone and you will really dig the new shit. I have started a new project though. You can check that out if you want.

"I hope you all still continue supporting this band. They'll be doing big things in 2009. You can count on that. This is goodbye for me. It wasn't an easy decision but it was the most efficient one for the band. Keep supporting ATKF. So long."

As The Kingdom Falls is currently seeking a replacement. You can contact the band on their MySpace page.

Rammstein Won't Release New Album Before Next Fall

Blabbermouth.net reports: The official newsletter from German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN includes the following update on the band's new studio album:

"While RAMMSTEIN are recording their newest studio album in sunny California, the first snow has fallen today in Berlin. You have sent us a lot of questions since news reached you via the RAMMSTEIN website about the recordings for the new album. Many rumours have flooded the internet since then. The production of the album will take some time and a release isn't planned before autumn 2009. If everything goes according to plan, we'll hear the first single before summer 2009 and be able to greet RAMMSTEIN at the beginning of their tour before the end of the year. This tour, which is to stretch far into the year 2010, will finally give you enough of a chance to see the band live again after the long period of waiting. Above all, there are some surprises in store for our loyal fans and Community members in the 2009/2010 tour year."

Hatesphere Signs To Napalm Records

Danish death/thrash metal band Hatesphere has been announced as the latest addition to the Napalm Records roster.

Band leader Pepe Hansen states: "No compromise and no experiments!" Metal fans should fasten their seatbelt and prepare for an all crushing package. A new album is tentatively scheduled for spring 2009. The last year has been really hectic for us. Not in a bad sense, but we have been working hard on both new material, playing shows and changing the line-up. The great changes the band has been going through have meant that we needed a record label that would support us 100%. Napalm is not only very professional, they also have a great varied roster, and they have shown to be willing to support HateSphere in the way that we want. Our new album has been just completed, and no need to say that we really can't wait to get started with our work with Napalm. Early next year the album will be out, and Napalm Records and HateSphere are on their way. See you out there - stronger than ever!"

KISS Unhappy With Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

Gene Simmons, the iconic bassist for rock legends KISS recently spoke about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and his unhappiness that KISS has, to date, not been included.

"There are disco bands, rap bands, Yiddish folk song bands in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame, but not KISS," the band's outspoken frontman said during a speech at the Billboard Touring Conference on Thursday. "I believe we have more gold records in America than any other group, but it's OK."

The band is not among the nine acts on this year's shortlist, which includes metal icons Metallica, rock guitarist Jeff Beck, and soul singer Bobby Womack. The final five, determined by a ballot of more than 500 industry voters, will be announced in January, ahead of the 24th annual induction ceremony in Cleveland on April 4.

Regarding the top officials of the Hall of Fame's foundation, Simmons said: "A lot of those guys on the board can go and get my sandwich when I want, and I mean that in the nicest way," he said.

The speech was filmed for an episode of his reality show Gene Simmons Family Jewels, currently in its third season on the A&E cable channel.
