Entheos Reveals New Album Details
Pushing progressive death metal in ever more imaginative directions, Entheos continue to stand apart from the pack. Incorporating elements drawn from myriad genres - including death metal, groove, grunge, electronica, slam, gothic rock, jazz, prog and more — they have evolved with every release, and now they return with the follow up to 2017's landmark "Dark Future," the diverse and exhilarating "Time Will Take Us All." It arrives March 3rd via Metal Blade Records.
"We're incredibly proud to announce our new album Time Will Take Us All," the band states. "The album's concept is one of growth and self-reflection that focuses on the true human commonality — that our time on Earth is fleeting and what we choose to do with that knowledge is up to each of us as individuals. This is beautifully reflected in Eliran Kantor's surreal cover art."
The band furthers, "We're excited to share a new single 'I Am the Void.' This song begins the second half of the album and represents the weight of feeling as though you cannot escape your own fears and anxieties. The video was shot by the incredible David Brodsky, Allison Woest and their team at My Good Eye Visuals."
Tracklisting:
1. Absolute Zero
2. In Purgatory
3. The Interior Wilderness
4. Oblivion
5. I Am The Void
6. Darkest Day
7. Clarity in Waves
8. The Sinking Sun
9. Time Will Take Us All More...

The new year has hardly begun, and some great news has already arrived from the far north. Swedish heavy metallers Enforcer have listened to their fans and revived their classic track "Running In Menace." Today, the band has released a fresh, re-recorded version of the track originally released in 2010, launching them into the new year headfirst. Enforcer's Olof Wikstrand comments:
"Let’s kick off the new year with some exclusive stuff! Last year we had an Instagram vote for your favourite album song that we don’t normally play. And the winner was… 'Running in Menace' from 2010! So, we decided to include that in our set, but also, we re-recorded the song during a soundcheck in Warsaw and put together a tour video for it.
Hope you all enjoy it!" More...
Official Necromantia Biography Due In March
Following Baron Blood’s passing and band's farewell album, the official biography of Necromantia is finally unleashed. It chronicles the complete story of the band and their daring journey through three decades of unique dark creations. The book is co-written by The Magus and Aris Shock (author of Rites of The Abyss) and it’s based on personal memories of The Magus, many of which are unveiled for the first time. It starts from the 80s, by explaining how the core of Necromantia was formed and it reveals intriguing information about all their recorded work, lyrics, covers, influences, occult research, inspiration and many other details. It also talks about the endeavours of The Magus and Baron Blood in other bands and projects, music production, fanzines and labels (Thou Art Lord, Rotting Christ, N.A.O.S., Raism, Terra Tenebrae/ Soulskinner, Storm Studios, Blasphemous Mag, Black Lotus Records and many more). Furthermore, it includes exclusive comments from musicians who collaborated with Necromantia and quotes by other esteemed people of the international extreme metal scene.
The Magus said: "Time is ruthless and cruel. But is also healing and forgiving. Necromantia‘s time was not due, but it’s Time’s cousin, Death decided otherwise and moved Baron Blood to another plane a few years ago. Therefore Necromantia wrote their final chapter with the album 'To The Depths We Descend.' So the book was completed….and now it is available in printed form.
"This is our complete and official biography dating from our school years up to 2021. A full history including rare photo material documenting our journey through the realm of the extreme music, which you and us love, black metal. We always stayed true to our principles and you can read all about it. Not only that but we are offering you a very rare recording of our early days as a gift. Through you, the fans, we shall always be Eternal. Salutes."
The book is proudly supported by media sponsors Metal Hammer Greece, metal.de and Musick Magazine. You can pre-order your copy here.
Stoned Jesus Set To Release New Album In March
Ukrainian doom proggers Stoned Jesus have announced their first full-length in five years, "Father Light," set for release on 3rd March via Season of Mist. They have also unveiled their atmospheric and bluesy new single / video "Thoughts And Prayers", a fitting title given their current situation.
Lead vocalist and guitarist Igor Sydorenko comments: "I wrote these songs mostly in 2019, we worked on them through 2020, recorded them in 2021 and were ready to release them in 2022...and finally the first batch of them is coming out as Father Light in 2023! So this is neither our "pandemic" nor our "war" record, this is something I was really obsessed about many months ago – climate change, media numbness, corporations' impact, social divisions...
"But revisiting these issues years later shows that they're still important and this is still something that resonates with us – and hopefully will resonate with many other people, too. Musically I think this is our most diverse and mature record to date, but there's a good dose of old school Stoned Jesus there too!
"Anyway, enjoy this one and fingers crossed for 2024's release of 'Mother Dark' - the moodier, more personal, more experimental sister album to 'Father Light.'"
The artwork for Father Light was created by Anton Pcholkin and can be found below, together with the tracklist. More...

Embryo Debuts New Video "Darkest Lights"
Italian melodic death Embryo is sharing the first glimpse of brutality from their forthcoming fifth album "A Vivid Shade On Misery," which features the band's recruitment of international drumming powerhouse George Kollias (Nile) for its recording. Due out on March 17th, 2023 via Rockshots Records, Embryo shares its first single "Darkest Lights" accompanied by a music video. The track is melodic, but with an unforgettable groove. You can check it out below.
"A Vivid Shade On Misery" follows the band's 2017's "A Step Beyond Divinity" (Art Gates Records), 2015's Self-Titled (logic(il)logic Records) that featured Fleshgod Apocalypse's drummer Francesco Paoli, 2010's "No God Slave" and their 2006 debut "Chaotic Age."
Since the band's inception, Embryo has toured across Europe with Melechesh, Keep of Kalessin, Tribulation, Nile, Immolation, Ragnarok, Monuments Of Misanthropy, and Suffocation along with performing on festivals such as Masters of Rock (CZ), and Total Metal Festival (Italy).
Embryo began writing their fifth offering in 2020 with George Kollias and entered the Domination Studio in July 2021 with producer Simone Mularoni, and engineer Simone Bertozzi.
Monolithic, intense, powerful, technical, and melodic this new album features eight brand new tracks and is another concept album like its predecessor "A Step Beyond Divinity." The band is inspired by historical Italian figures of the Renaissance era and their tormented lives, their absolute genius, and the gifts they gave to the world. While the previous album "A Step Beyond Divinity" was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci, this new work is totally inspired by Michelangelo Merisi alias Caravaggio, an Italian painter active in Rome for most of his artistic life.
"With "A Vivid Shade On Misery" we want to have listeners dive into our world by giving them brutal and atmospheric music melted together in the way we love to do plus having Kollias drum on this new album, one of the best drummers in the world, is just an absolute honour. Overall, fans will find this album has the "Embryo" matrix, there's no doubt about that. It will be a more direct record and its songs make up a pattern that takes the listener on a journey through torments and anxieties, but which at the same time gives him pure energy." adds the band. Heidevolk Shares "Wederkeer" Music Video
Since the release of their impressive 2005 debut, "De strijdlust is geboren," Heidevolk have taken the heavy music scene by storm, conquering stages throughout the world with their very own brand of pagan folk metal. Following their latest offering, the much-acclaimed, "Vuur Van Verzet" (2015), February 24, 2023 will see the Dutch band release their seventh studio masterpiece, "Wederkeer, through Napalm Records.
After previously-released first album singles, "Klauwen Vooruit" and "Drink met de Goden (Walhalla)," today, Heidevolk have premiered a brand new music video for the epic, acoustic album title track!
The band comments:
"Today we proudly present our third music video from 'Wederkeer!'
"The title track 'Wederkeer' is a powerful acoustic anthem about inner strength, pride and beliefs. In the video we witness a young woman wandering through the cold dark forest. She is lost yet something inside her fuels her quest and tells her to persist. Suddenly a luring hymn draws her to the scene of glimmering flares of a fire through the trees, and shadows of men singing a pure and uncompromising anthem. When she eventually enters the circle of light, the scene she thought she witnessed has disappeared, as if it was never there…
"With the release of our new album drawing near this raw acoustic track gives you yet another glimpse of what is coming your way. Join us, for the Pagan Metal Brotherhood is on the rise!" More...

Cruachan To Release New Album In March
Ireland’s Cruachan have enjoyed a storied career since they took those tentative first steps back in 1992. As frontman and sole original member Keith Fay elaborates; "When I started writing music as a 13-year-old, I had no idea that I was laying the foundations for what would become a brand-new genre, Folk Metal, or that I was planting the seeds of what would be one of the longest running Irish metal bands in history. There have been many ups and downs over the last thirty years, band members have come and gone, record deals have come and gone. We've played some of the biggest metal festivals on the planet, travelled to more countries than most Irish bands would ever dream possible. And it has all led to this - our ninth album, 'The Living and the Dead.'"
The band celebrated their 30th anniversary last year with an invitation to submit a song to be considered for Ireland’s 2023 Eurovision song contest entry. Whilst the band weren’t ultimately successful, it did help remind people that Cruachan were very much back!
A man whose vision and passion for his band has never wavered in the ensuing three decades, Cruachan’s place in, not only in metal history, but that of Ireland’s musical landscape, has been hard earned and hard fought. But Fay was always confident that he and the band would always deliver. "This album had to be good. No, it had to be better than good. This had to be the best Cruachan album ever made. I faced a decision in 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, when three band members left the band. ‘Do I call it a day? or do I press on with the mammoth task of replacing everyone’. There was no real decision to be made, I worked way too hard over the years to allow Cruachan to fizzle out. I have been writing some of the best music of my career in recent years. I secured a record deal with a label (Sweden’s Despotz Records) that understood exactly what Cruachan and my vision is." More...
