Cattle Decapitation Reveals New Album Details

Long-running San Diego, California deathgrind outfit, Cattle Decapitation, will release their tenth studio album, Terrasite, on May 12 via Metal Blade Records. The band’s follow-up to 2019’s Death Atlas full-length was again produced by Dave Otero (Allegaeon, Khemmis, Archspire) with startling new artwork by longtime collaborator Wes Benscoter (Vader, Kreator, Bloodbath, Hypocrisy).

Comments vocalist Travis Ryan, "We've all heard the old saying about how the cockroach is so pervasive... so invasive... so insidious... that they could survive a nuclear war... Our previous album, 'Death Atlas,' left the world blackened and lifeless.. or so we thought. It turns out that the carbon-encrusted bodies that adorned the album's layout and music video (and that resemble the victims of Pompeii that were frozen in time by the Mt. Vesuvius disaster of 79 A.D.) were actually more of a cocoon stage for something much more vicious to come: Humanity 2.0.

"On the cover we see the terrasite, aka ‘earth-eater,’ molting from its ootheca. Having lived the tortuous existence of being a human, they have now re-emerged into a new world... saddened... confused... PISSED; rebirthed as a new variant of human disease, now adapted to continue and finish the utter ravaging of its home planet, Earth."

"Terrasite" is dedicated to the memory of Gabe Serbian.

Terrasite (noun)
/?ter? ?sit/ (terr·a·site)
“terra-“ (Latin = “earth”) + “-sitos” (Greek = “food”) Definition:
1. A devourer or destroyer of land or earth.
2. Post-Anthropocene humanity

Tracklisting:

1. Terrasitic Adaptation
2. We Eat Our Young
3. Scourge Of The Offspring
4. The Insignificants
5. The Storm Upstairs
6. …And The World Will Go On Without You
7. A Photic Doom
8. Dead End Residents
9. Solastalgia
10. Just Another Body More...

Prong Shares New Single "Breaking Point"

Like few other contemporary metal bands, Prong are synonymous with a down-to-earth attitude, stamina and a close bond with their fans. It's been a long wait since the release of 2019’s Age Of Defiance EP, but now, that wait is over. Today, the band has premiered an unrelentingly heavy new song, entitled "Breaking Point”, marking their anticipated return with a vengeance.

Prong originator Tommy Victor on the new single: "The origins of the song happened during the waning part of the pandemic. I have to admit that I came up with the main riff while we were out on the Black Label Society tour. I guess that would make sense to some. There was so much insecurity going on. What we were told kept changing. The crowds on that tour were so intense. It seemed like everyone was just sweating out all this frustration. Everyone was just fed up. I think that sentiment has remained and even grown with a lot of people. It’s a 'general frustration in the world' type song."

He adds about the track's sound: "I’ve been getting back into these heavy, solid, mean riffs. I think moving back to New York has helped with these. I’m really happy where I’m at all around. I think it’s coming across in the new songs and showing a rejuvenated attitude." More...

Cradle Of Filth To Tour US With Devildriver

Extreme metal icons, Cradle Of Filth, and groove metal pioneers, DevilDriver, announce their upcoming 2023 US co-headline tour, beginning March 8 in Tempe, AZ. The first leg of the "Double Trouble Live" tour will visit several popular western and southern US markets, coming to an end in Albuquerque, NM on March 26. Support will come from Black Satellite and Oni.

Tickets go on sale this Friday the 13th at 10 AM, local time. Check local venues and artist homepages for tickets and more information. Get your tickets now before it's too late. The second leg is planned for later this year, so stay tuned to learn when this killer bill will be headed to your town.

Cradle Of Filth mastermind Dani Filth states: "Cradle Of Filth are maniacally looking forward to this two-pronged headline assault with fellow noisemongers DevilDriver. Frontman Dez has been a friend for years and a brilliant manager to boot, and to head out on the road for what promises to be the first leg of the ‘Double Trouble Live’ world tour with him and the band was an opportunity far too good to pass on.

"We are chomping at the bit to get out on the west coast again after our very successful run supporting Danzig last summer, and this eclectic tour package is so heavy it’s literally going to GRIND faces to a pulp. Which, in this line of work, is a good thing!

"So see you guys (and ghouls) out on the road for what promises to be twelve devastating nights of musical mayhem and debauch! Definitely a killer tour not to be missed!" More...

Delain Releases New Music Video

In 2022, metal greats Delain broke new ground by announcing their new lineup and eagerly-yearned-for new studio album, entitled "Dark Waters," to be released February 10 via Napalm Records. With this astonishing piece of art, the chart-breaking outfit sets the stage for the next era, while still sticking to their very unique sound that fans and critics alike love - catchy, bombastic tunes full of contrasts and the highest standard of orchestral arrangements.

Unveiled on this very day, the emotionally driven single "Moth To A Flame" showcases Delain's versatility by presenting a pop-induced hymn, and impressively showcases that the international unit centered around mastermind Martijn Westerholt holds its spot on top of the scene without any doubts!

Fuelled by massive support and enthusiasm all around the globe for their first standalone single "The Quest and The Curse," and recently released "Beneath" (with more than 1M video views in total so far), the official video for "Moth To A Flame" draws their listeners even deeper into a universe composed of catchy tunes with explosive elements - ranging from pop, to film score-inspired, to blistering room shaking metal.

Keyboardist, founder and main songwriter Martijn Westerholt on "Moth To A Flame":
"I'm extremely proud of this song. It's one of the most upbeat songs on the album while also having the heaviest guitar riff, and Diana's vocals are outstanding! It's a killer combination that I think fans will love." More...

Nervosa Recruits Second Guitarist

Brazilian founded thrash metal outfit Nervosa has announced that, following her tenure as live bassist on their recent tour of Latin America, Greek musician Helena Kotina has joined the band as a second guitarist, making Nervosa a quintet for the first time. A statement from the band reads as follows:

"The position will be filled by guitarist Helena Kotina. In the very beginning Nervosa consisted of two guitarists, but after the departure of Karen Ramos the band decided to stay as a trio for logistics reasons. This helped the band touring low cost for many years.

"After the complete line-up change in 2020, Prika thought of adding a second guitarist, but she decided to do it later, there were too many new members in the band to manage alone and the line-up had already moved from 3 piece to 4 piece, rising the touring costs of the band in general, so an addition of a second guitarist had to be postponed.

"Few months after the release of "Perpetual Chaos", in March of 2021, Prika called Helena to join Nervosa, since then they started composing a new album together.
At the end of 2022, Mia could not come to tour Latin America, so Prika thought of asking Helena to come to play bass and have the first touring experience with Nervosa.

"Helena Kotina is a young guitar player born and raised in Greece. She picked up the guitar at the age of 14, being her main influences on bands like Scorpions, Rainbow, Deep Purple. Her professional career started by releasing the first EP of the Greek band Daffodil called 'A hope for things that never come', in the summer of 2022 she released her first personal work called 'One of those days' and later on she toured with Nervosa as a bassist in their Latin America tour. Also by the end of the year, Helena played alongside Paul Di'Anno and Gus G in their Greek tour.
Nervosa is finishing the new songs now and very soon they are going to enter the studio to record the 5th album in Nervosa's career."
