Leather Lung Posts New Music Video Online
Leather Lung has released the ripping video clip "Empty Bottle Boogie" as the next single taken from their forthcoming new album "Graveside Grin." The Boston, Massachusetts quintet's first full-length is slated for release on March 15, 2024 through Magnetic Eye Records. The raunchy video for 'Empty Bottle Boogie' dealing with booze, sweat and fun in a real live setting can be seen below.
Leather Lung comments: "Do you know that feeling, when the DJ plays your song, so you chug your drink and hit the dance floor?", singer Mike asks rhetorically. "That's what we were trying to capture with 'Empty Bottle Boogie'. This song is an invitation to let it all hang out. It delivers boot-stomping, hip-shaking, fist-swinging energy from start to finish. We write music in the context of movement and this track was meant to shake the floorboards." More...

Ingested Reveals New Album Details
Not many top-tier death metal bands can record and release an album a year and follow it with an extensive tour. That’s hardly ever been the case for Manchester, England’s crushing, visceral Ingested. Since the release of their fifth album, 2020’s "Where Only God May Tread," the band has been on a creative tear that has produced almost a full record every year – even through the COVID-19 pandemic – but has resulted in the kind of musical growth that only comes from constantly practicing, playing, and writing.
The band’s latest output, "The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams," is not only as innovative and brutal as their last disc -- the bleak, firestorm "Ashes Lie Still" -- it showcases a band willing to expand its creativity without sacrificing the ferocity that made it one of the most impressively destructive, technical death metal bands on the scene. "The Tide Of Death And Fractured Dreams" is proof that once Ingested sniffs out a trail of musical blood, they ravenously follow it until they’ve uncovered a festering feast.
Produced by the band with the guidance of recording engineer Nico Beninato, the record includes a guest appearance by Chimaira’s Mark Hunter who provides guest vocals for the track "In Nothingness" and Sylosis singer Josh Middleton who contributes to "Expect To Fail," as well as the striking cover art of David Seidman. Ov Sulfur Debuts New Single "Hivemind"
In a thrilling display of blackened deathcore prowess, Ov Sulfur is proud to announce the release of their latest single "Hivemind," featuring Lukas Nikolai of Mental Cruelty. The single showcases Ov Sulfur's consistent stance against conventional religious narratives and herd mentality, a theme that aligns seamlessly with Mental Cruelty's established defiance in their music.
On the new single, guitarist Chase Wilson comments:
"'Hivemind' is Ov Sulfur's rallying cry against the herd mentality that has turned religion from hopeful to hateful for centuries - to the point where it's basically part of its ethos. The song takes a cue from its celebration of avoiding the typical, stylistically, by taking a left-hand path: embracing off-kilter swing in its dramatic chorus, contrasted with some of their most technical riffing. Lukas Nicolai of Mental Cruelty really elevated the brutality. It's an honour to have our Century Media labelmates and fellow blackened deathcore leaders on a song with us ahead of our co-headlining tour across North America."
Lukas Nicolai, Mental Cruelty's vocalist, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration:
"I said it before and I'm going to say it again: joining Mental Cruelty has been an awesome journey so far. And now to have the opportunity to feature on 'Hivemind' is a cherry on top. It was really fun to record this one! I can't wait to go berserk with Ricky live" More...
Samael To Release New Live Album Next Month
Industrial black metal icons Samael have released the mesmerizing Gothic and piano driven single "Moonskin." Taken from the band’s upcoming live album, "Passage - Live," out on February 16, 2024 via Napalm Records, the song and lyric video unveil a necrophiliac ballad for dark romantic souls, blending the forces of Eros and Thanatos in an unforgettable gloomy atmosphere.
"Passage - Live" offers a fresh, fully live take on the highly influential and iconic 1996 album. Recorded during a sold-out concert in Krakow on the last day of the European leg of the "Passage 25th Anniversary Tour", the album gets a makeover and adds a further new touch and elements to the album and sound.
Vorph on "Moonskin":
"We were repeatedly asked to release this song as a standalone single around the time of the album's release. So, a quarter of a century later, we decided to put it in the spotlight with the release of 'Passage - Live.'"
The songs of "Passage - Live" remain the same, but captured in the urgency of a live environment, they appear rawer and heavier than they were originally, and the maturation of a quarter-century makes them more immediate. Passage - Live is the first official recording with the band’s current line-up, and as Drop and Ales both were fans of the album before joining the band, they add new vigor and energy to the music.
"Passage - Live" is a testament to an album that left its mark on a generation of metal fans, as Samael moved towards a more industrial sound, distancing themselves from their roots in black metal, and simultaneously breaking the band into a wider international audience. Passage has stood the test of time, remaining as fresh today as it was nearly three decades ago, and with "Passage - Live," Samael adds new depth to one of the most important albums in the band’s history.
Vorph says about "Passage - Live":
"The blend of metal, industrial and electronica that has been our trademark for almost three decades began with Passage. It's almost ground zero for us, and we're delighted to offer these songs a fresh approach and bring this album to life for our long-standing audience as well as those who have discovered the band recently." Ihsahn Shares "The Distance Between Us" Video
Ihsahn has released the final single to be taken from his forthcoming self-titled album. "The Distance Between Us" introduces us to the more melancholic, spacious side of the release. Accompanying the track is a haunting new video, a continuation of the conceptual storyline which has been spread across previous singles, "Pilgrimage To Oblivion" and "Twice Born," all filmed by Shaun Hodson at Loki Films.
New album, definitively titled "Ihsahn," will be released on 16th February 2024 via Candlelight Records. Daring to push the realms of creative expressionism even further with his eighth studio offering, the Norwegian progressive metal visionary will release two melodically interlinked versions of the same album: one prog metal, one fully symphonic, both creating a cinematically-influenced masterpiece.
Commenting on the new track,"The first two singles were taken from the beginning of the conceptual narrative, generating the hubris and determination required. With this last single, we’re getting closer to the end of the story and hence both music and lyrics express a more reflective and melancholic perspective." More...
Monkey3 Posts New Visualizer Video Online
February 23, 2024 sees instrumental psych rock maestros Monkey3 release their much-awaited new album, entitled Welcome To The Machine, via Napalm Records. Once again, Monkey3 envelops listeners in their unique, cosmic auditory haze with their newest release.
Welcome To The Machine‘s musical themes are inspired by movies such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Matrix, Sunshine, Solaris and 1984, while unveiling an intense mankind vs. machines story that instantly launches the listener into deep space. Right from its first tones, the album immediately emerges as a perfect soundtrack to a journey into the unknown. Tracks such as the previously-released, first album single "Rackman" perfectly showcase how Monkey3 are one of only a few instrumental bands that know how to tell an enthralling story.
Monkey3 moves perfectly between haunting passages and progressive breaks, as well as mesmerizing grooves and colossal riffs, reinforced by songs such as today's newly premiered "Collision". As the track explores the awareness of reality and destruction of an artificial machine system, Monkey3 excel with an extensive, cosmic introduction that explodes into a majestic psychedelic magnum opus!
Guitarist Boris says about the song:
"The colliding of two elements creates chaos, but also peace and harmony. This gives birth to something completely new. What are we looking for? What do we want to achieve?" More...
Korpiklaani Releases "Saunaan" Music Video
Finnish folk metal superstars Korpiklaani have released a brand new single called "Saunaan," the first song to whet your appetite for their upcoming new studio album, "Rankarumpu," which is due to be released on April 5th 2024. The pre-order for the album starts today!
"Rankarumpu," like the two previous records, was executed with recording / mixing engineer and producer Janne Saksa. It seems that the collaboration between the band and Saksa has reached a whole new level with "Rankarumpu."
Korpiklaani's twelfth studio album is once again full of tasty folk metal and its different flavors, but it also offers new spices. One of the most wonderful features of "Rankarumpu" is related to the folk instruments. Although Korpiklaani has done one or maybe even a couple of unforgettable things in the realm of folk metal, this time new permanent member Olli Vänskä's violin and Sami Perttula's accordion may surprise even die-hard fans.
One of the best showcases of this new chapter in Korpiklaani's career is the fast paced, violin-driven and playful folk metal tune "Saunaan." With its irresistible lead melody and a chorus for the ages, "Saunaan" is one of the strongest Korpiklaani songs to date, and it should fill any fan of the genre with pure delight.
Olli Vänskä commented:
"I actually composed 'Saunaan' already months before I even knew I would be playing for Korpiklaani. I was working on an upbeat folk metal song and less surprisingly KK – Kings of Folk Metal – was definitely one of the influences.
"Then, one thought led to another and suddenly I found myself actually playing for Korpiklaani and we were talking about material for an upcoming album. One night during a festival van ride I played a couple of demo tracks for the guys and Jonne was immediately giving me thumbs up. We worked with the arrangement a little bit and the end result is a pretty pretty good song!" More...

The band teamed up with cinematic genius Pavel Trebukhin (Trivium, Imminence) in collaboration with Le Turk for the music video, which has a distinct Stranger Things feel, blending eerie mystery with Landmvrks' explosive energy.
The band comments:
"'Creature' is the first single from Landmvrks' new chapter, which explores the fears we bury deep inside ourselves instead of exploring and facing up to them. They end up resurfacing even stronger. The creature taking possession of the body is a metaphor for this." More...
