Doro Releases Cover Of Metallica Classic
Doro has prepared a special New Year's gift for her fans and is excited to announce the digital release of a cover of Metallica's classic 'The Four Horsemen'. This track will also be included on the forthcoming digital EP "Conqueress - Extended," due to be released on March 1st.
Doro’s cover of "The Four Horsemen" was included on the physical products of her latest studio album "Conqueress - Forever Strong and Proud."
Doro comments:
"Metallica's debut album Kill 'Em All has just celebrated its 40th anniversary. I can still remember the first shows we played together in Europe in the mid-eighties. The Metallica guys (back then with Cliff Burton) were just great and we quickly became friends. There was a very special spirit of optimism in the metal scene that I like to remember. That's why I re-recorded 'The Four Horsemen', one of the early Metallica classics. I still love the song." More...
Folterkammer To Release New Album In April
Operatic black metal rising stars Folterkammer are pleased to now launch the pre-orders for their sophomore full-length, "Weibermacht," which is due on April 19, 2024 via Century Media Records! In celebration, the band is now sharing a dynamic performance video for the brand new single, "Anno Domina," which features a guest harpsichord solo from Imperial Triumphant bassist Steve Blanco . The clip, which was once again directed by Folterkammer drummer Brendan McGowan, can be found below.
"Weibermacht" serves as a counterpart to the band's 2020 debut, "Die Lederpredigt." The new record is another searing blend of modern black metal and classical music elements, lending to its Avant Garde sound. The music itself is elevated by frontwoman and vocalist Andromeda Anarchia's dynamic vocal work as she juxtaposes her classical training as an opera singer with her hellfire screams, summoning a maelstrom of ethereal chaos.
Folterkammer singer and lyricist Andromeda Anarchia explains: "'AD' stands for Anno Domini, Latin for 'in the year of the Lord,' signifying Christ's birth year. With Christian terms traditionally linking to male dominance Folterkammer find such expressions irksome & strive to reject misogynistic ideologies Playfully reinterpreting, they coined 'Anno Domina' (the year of the dominatrix) symbolizing the era of female supremacy against institutionalized superstition and sexism. The term reflects rebellion & aligns with 'Weibermacht's' themes of BDSM & femdom."
She adds: "The song captures this mood of awakening, with the ringing of bells, the counting of whips... and a wonderful harpsichord solo, played by none other than the bassist of Imperial Triumphant, who is actually a trained jazz pianist, Steve White." More...
Necrowretch Posts "Dii Mauri" Video Online
Necrowretch might have emerged alongside the revival of old school death metal, but these deadly sorcerers have always carried a Satanic streak. After all, their new album, "Swords of Dajjal," is named after the Islamic Antichrist.
Today, the blackened French band are summoning the gods of barbarity with "Dii Mauri", the album's smoldering third single. You can check out the video below.
"Dii Mauri" begins with a blessing and a curse. "Ave Ingirozoglezim!" Vlad spews, conjuring the fully eruptive force of his band. Drum fills reign down like boulders, while the riffs churn and whip with the blinding fury of a sandstorm. Even in the midst of a lone, piercing guitar that drifts through the air like a mirage, one thing is clear. In their wake, Necrowretch leave nothing but devastation.
"This song pays tribute to the ancient Moorish Gods in Dii Mauri", says Necrowretch. "Unlike the other Gods that the Roman Empire was integrating into their pantheon after each conquest, the Dii Mauri were considered too barbaric to be ever integrated.
So shall it be... to scribe thy names
So shall it be... to cast thy flames..."
The video for "Dii Mauri" was filmed on location in Spain and Kyrgyzstan. It was directed, filmed and edited by Mounir Chraibi.
Horse training was provided by Carolina Lindenau from Spain's Rancho Bonanza. More...
Novichok Releases "Dead Weight" Music Video
Novichok is a bunch of pissed-off salty thrashers hailing from the east coast of Halifax, Canada and they are here to narrate the collapse of the world around us. They released their second album "Geo-Desiccant" at the tail end of 2022, and this year will be putting out music videos to compliment some of the best tracks off that album. The first track is "Dead Weight," an intense song that melds the heaviness of death metal with the speed and precision of thrash. The band explains further:
"This song is the narration of an actual nightmare in which a scuba gear malfunction seals your fate as the eager sea life begins to feast even before you are dead. Inspired by an early Cannibal Corpse, it’s thrash bordering on death metal. We’re told that we have a classic metal sound that is still new and exciting. This makes sense…each band member has a long list of influences - punk, thrash, death, black, grind, folk, rap…all from the 1970s through today."

Hideous Divinity To Release New Album In March
"Unextinct," the latest full-length album from Hideous Divinity, will be made available via Century Media Records on March 22nd. Their newest track "The Numinous One" invites you into a sonic odyssey, transcending mortal boundaries. It unfolds a cosmic tale where the numinous being challenges life's constraints. Dirges echo the mourning of mankind, and shadows embrace the divine horror. You can check out the video below.
Hideous Divinity comments on the new single: "'The Numinous One' is the perfect paradigm of our new album. Everything you will find on 'Unextinct' is there. Visually, a relentless descent into a new dimension of horror where, in a world that just survived a shipwreck, we evoke and reawake an entity that escapes our control and... bites us back. Like Lucy, we freeze in awe and horror and succumb to this impersonal, uncontrollable predator that brings extinction. Like the rat soldiers, we kneel in front of the abyss of pestilence, unable to look away. Musically, a new version of the appalling death metal monster that continues the path of Simulacrum. Join us in this first chapter of the most brutal horror soundtrack you'll ever experience."
They add on the album announcement: "'Unextinct' sets a new milestone for Hideous Divinity, another step towards musical unspoken terror and frenzy. Every song has become a world with its own dissonances and rules made to be broken. A soundtrack of a shipwreck with the best sound production we've ever had: our brother Stefano 'Saul' Morabito at 16th Cellar Studios really outdid himself. The new creature is coming at you on March, 22nd"

1. Dust Settles on Humanity
2. The Numinous One
3. Against the Sovereignty of Mankind

Bat Signs With Nuclear Blast Records
Richmond, Virginia metal-punk trio Bat has been delivering their own blood-spattered horror since ascending from the underground a decade ago on a dark, leather-winged trajectory. Today the band forged a new partnership and home at Nuclear Blast Records
Bat's Ryan Waste states, "After working the last 14 years with Nuclear Blast we’ve become family at this point. There was no question in my mind to bring Bat under their wing when the time was right. We’re thrilled to join forces and plan to push it even harder with the support of the label. You can expect more touring worldwide, along with new music and visuals as early as this March. Until then, stay heavy and beware of the Bat!"
Nuclear Blast American Label Manager & A&R Tommy Jones comments: "Heavy Metal and horror have been synonymous in our counter-culture since well before Alice Cooper sang about the 'Man Behind the Mask' and Dokken stated they 'Don’t wanna dream no more…' Through decades of this marriage, and with the influence of a snaggletoothed warpig, Bat was spawned. We have such a great relationship with Municipal Waste it made sense to check out Ryan and Nick’s other ripper of a band, Bat. I am excited to open the window at NB and let the Bat fly in! Beware the Bat y'all!"
Sylvaine Reveals New EP Details
Sylvaine has grown into a guiding light for ambient post-metal and atmospheric black metal. But today, she's tracing back to her roots on "Eg Er Framand."
Growing up in Norway, amidst the contrasts between nature and urbanity, Kathrine Shepard often performed in the Kampen Church in Oslo. This 19th century relic is where she recorded the entirety of her ethereal new EP, which will be released on March 22nd.
Lead single "Dagsens Augo Sloknar" comes from mysterious origins. The lyrics were written in 1891 by Elias Blix, a professor-turned-politician, who also wrote hymns. Staying true to the original's delicate, reverent melody, Sylvaine sings in a breathy, elongated whisper that's both haunting and soothing.
The music video for "Dagsens Augo Sloknar Ut" was directed and produced by William Lacalmontie. Kathrine dances and enchants across a magnificent tapestry of poetic landscapes, striking the beautiful balance that's at the heart of Eg Er Framand. You can check it out below. More...

Frayle Signs Worldwide Deal With Napalm Records
Fast-rising American doom outfit Frayle have officially joined forces with Napalm Records, signing a worldwide contract with the premier Austrian rock and metal empire.
Cleveland, Ohio's Frayle crept onto the scene after forming in 2018, helmed by original members Sean Bilovecky (guitars) and Gwyn Strang (vocals). Since then, the band has been lauded by fans and media critics alike, merging the heaviness of occult-driven doom and blackgaze with Strang's distinctively eerie vocal stylings. Frayle has since expanded into a four piece, welcoming drummer Jon Vinson and bassist Jason Knotek to the fold, allowing the band to fully realize their "lullabies over chaos" musical vision. Noted first by Revolver Magazine as a band to watch in 2023, and then again by Knotfest for the coming year, the band continues to invigorate their already buzzing sway on the scene. Following gloomy performances in Europe and the United States at festivals such as Damnation, Desertfest, Soul Crusher, Gloomnar, Post Fest and Inkcarceration, Frayle vows to enrapture audiences with new music in 2024.
Frayle says about the signing:
"We are thrilled to be joining the incredible team at Napalm Records. Napalm has always been the label that artists strive to be a part of and we are honored to bring our unique blend of heavy witch gloom to their impressive roster.
"We'd also like to take this opportunity to say we are extremely fortunate to be part of the Oracle Management family, and are grateful for them helping us realize our goal of signing to Napalm Records. It was Oracle's existing relationship with Napalm that helped to seal the deal. We can’t wait to see what the future holds."
Sebastian Muench, Senior A&R at Napalm Records, adds:
"Frayle have been enchanting their fans with their unique way of interpreting doom metal since 2017. Their artistic vision and past live performances have fascinated us and enticed us to work together as partners on the next step in the band's career. I can guarantee that the new studio album will be simply amazing!"
