Pathology Reveals New Album Details
San Diego's Pathology is currently finishing the mixes for the band's new album. The effort, produced by Daniel Castleman (As I Lay Dying, Winds of Plague, Impending Doom) at Lambesis Studios, is entitled "Awaken to the Suffering" and will be released September 13th, 2011. Once again, the band has utilized the talents of Par Olofsson to handle the artwork.
“The recording came out great. This is by far the best thing we have ever done. Everything is extremely heavy and very tight,” explains drummer Dave Astor. “It's great working with Par again on this cover. He did an amazing job. We decided to do a pencil sketch cover this time around. We also brought back the evil doctor to continue the zombie havoc.”
The quintet will head on tour August 26th, beginning with some headlining dates in Texas before joining Sweden’s Grave and Norway’s Blood Red Throne on August 30th for a North American tour.

Some dubious business decisions and that necessary mother of all evil 'money' played a hand in knocking us down. Whatever happened though, we always got back up and gave it our best shot, we can honestly say that hand on heart. It's you people, our fans and our supporters within the industry which have worked so hard for us and given us the opportunities to develop n hone our performances on stage and in the studio - THANK YOU SO MUCH - it's all you who have given us so much of your time and faith which has fueled us to work harder and succeed as best we can.
"The tough but very amicable decision to 'split' was made as it's become clear that some of us have new exciting careers / projects which they wish to work on and develop. We will continue to support each other in these areas as the true friends we were before we became Panic Cell."

Deron Miller, guitarist/vocalist of World Under Blood, has posted the third and final track-by-track description of the band’s debut record, "Tactical." You can find the track descriptions below, or head over to the previously posted second segment of the series here.
7. I CAN'T STAND HIS NAME
Everybody has someone they can't stand. Upon getting to know this song people will believe that "HIS NAME" is Jesus Christ. Not necessarily, as I certainly had someone else is mind. But if you want to think it's a stab at Jesus, go ahead. Organized religion has stupified and brainwashed so many people all over the world to the point where they would die for it. Even worse, they preach and try to force their beliefs on other people who just happen to be intelligent enough not to buy into it. I believe that death is death and that is that, so live your life the way you want without bringing harm to others until you're gone...just like you were before you were born. World Under Blood is surely not anti-faith, but I purposely can't stand people who preach. Either way, that's not "who" or "what" I had in mind anyway. A pretty brutal track, the bridge is a surprise and I love how the kick drums get faster and faster. cool shit for sure.
8. REVERE'S TEARS
George Revere was a genius doctor who had privately discovered a treatment for most forms of cancer in his basement, while his wife suffered from the disease. He administered her treatment, and she went into immediate remission when suddenly George was found dead in his home. Murdered. You can't find him on the internet, you can't even google the guy. He has pretty much disappeared along with his wife, Estelle who hasn't been heard from in years. The perfect song to "end" the album...Revere's Tears is based upon the theory that if you do discover a cure for cancer, you will either be privately bought out, or killed. I think it's interesting that we've been collecting a lot of money through charities for years, and we have yet to cure anything, from the cold, to A.I.D.S, diabetes, cancer, warts...you name it. But we're always "so close" aren't we? I wrote this song with CKY's Jess Margera about 12 years ago, and i always thought it would have been great as the 9th track on Gorguts' "The Erosion of Sanity," which is one of my favorite records of all time. It's changed a lot since Jess and I wrote it...killer bridge section.
9. WAKE UP DEAD (MEGADETH COVER)
One of the only cover songs that Tim Yeung and I knew from start to finish, and I'm thankful for that because it's one of my favorite songs ever written. Even though Dave Mustaine mentally hasn't been aging well lately, Wake Up Dead is his masterpiece. It defies all typical style of song arrangement and happens to be one of his biggest accomplishments when trying to get revenge on Metallica. The Master of Puppets album is a masterpiece from start to finish, but this song off of Peace Sells is a huge "fuck you" to his former bandmates. Its a classic thrash song, and I hope if and when he hears it, he enjoys our rendition of it. Luke nails Chris Poland's solo perfectly note for note. James Murphy plays Mustaine's parts with his own style. I was too scared to even go there.
The track list for "Tactical" is as follows:
1. A God Among The Waste
2. Into The Arms Of Cruelty
3. Pyro-Compulsive
4. Dead And Still In Pain
5. Purgatory Dormitory
6. Under The Autumn Low
7. I Can't Stand His Name
8. Revere's Tears (with intro)
9. Wake Up Dead (bonus track MEGADETH cover song)
10. Alliance Or War (iTunes exclusive MALEVOLENT CREATION cover song)

Hellsaw Recording New Album "Trist"
Austrian black metallers Hellsaw entered Munich’s Dreamsound Studios last week to begin recording their fourth full-length album. Titled “Trist,” the album will be the follow up to 2009’s “Cold” and is due for release on Napalm Records in early 2012.
Front man and founder Aries commented about the direction Hellsaw will take with the album. “The German word 'Trist' is difficult to define exactly but if you think of various connotations of solemnity and sadness you’d be thinking along the right lines. 'Cold' was more about melancholy, 'Trist' is darker; it’s like the scent of fine whiskey and damp earth.
“As a band, we always prepare thoroughly before going into the studio, but this time we’ve rehearsed even more in order to perfect the sound for each track. We’ve also sought to redefine the Hellsaw sound, without losing our identity. There needs to be a certain amount of experimentation with each new album in order to bring the sound up to date. Without giving too much away, with 'Trist' we believe we have found the perfect symbiosis between the old and new elements. All the songs are strong, and it will definitely kick ass."
Hellsaw is scheduled to appear at a number of European festivals this year. Confirmed so far are:
Fri 22 July – Hell Over Vellach (AT)
Sat 30 July – Baden in Blut (DE)
Sat 06 August – Wacken (DE)
Sat 17 Sept – STP Metal Weekend (AT)
Sat 01 Oct – Night Warriors Festival (AT)
Sat 29 Oct – The Dark Crusade Festival (AT)
