Thera Roya Announces "Stone And Skin" Release

Brookyln based sludge/post-metal band Thera Roya will release "Stone and Skin" on February 17th, 2017. This album is the band's first full-length offering, following several EP's and splits in the past.

Coming off an extremely busy 2015/16 that saw the band release an EP, a split, and then go on to play 88 shows, Thera Roya is clearly destined for greater things with some serious forward momentum.

In a world where we are finally starting to see post metal get the recognition it deserves, Thera Roya will put out one of the genres most worthy records. Forward thinking, overpowering and strangely transcendent, "Stone & Skin" is the sound of the future.

The Green River Burial Posts Year End Update

Last month, The Green River Burial announced its impending demise after a final album release. Now the band has issued this year-end update:

"As another year draws to its close it is time to reflect on all the various thoughts and attitudes that shaped our behaviour this year.

"It took some time for us planning regarding our musical future and today we are happy to announce we will stay together as musicians and continue being a band - NOT as TGRB but as something else you will hear from soon through this page. We are humbly looking forward into creating new art and are incredibly eager to pick up work on this new project of ours and give it our all.

"As we announced before, we will still release the album we've been working on over the past years as TGRB before this chapter ends. Said album is already completely written and we were in the process of recording it when one of us relapsed into a serious health condition which left us being in a total work standstill regarding the TGRB album. Ululatum Tollunt Reveals EP Details

Invictus Productions has set January 30th, 2017 as the international release date for Ululatum Tollunt's debut mini-album, "Quantum Noose of Usurpation."

A relatively new entity formed in 2015 and hailing from various parts of the United States, Ululatum Tollunt originally self-released an initial pressing of "Quantum Noose of Usurpation" under a different title and in extremely limited quantities.

That release exhibited a shockingly mature sound, and one so severe that Invictus had no other recourse but to unleash "Quantum Noose of Usurpation" upon the international metal underground.

The moniker of Ululatum Tollunt translates from Latin to "war cry," which is fitting for the primeval power loosed on these tracks:

1. Order of the Morningstars
2. Serpentine Despoilers
3. Lupine Aggressors
4. Obsidian Dominion
5. Quantum Noose of Usurpation
6. Triumph Continuum More...

The Project Hate Checks In From The Studio

Work is progressing on The Project Hate MCMXCIX's new release "Of Chaos And Carnal Pleasures," with the band now checking in to say:

"And song number 5, 'Perversion,' is nailed mixed wise! As always, Mr. Swanö at famed Unisound Studios is doing such a spectacular work I don't even know what to say anymore in regard to this hero's work ethics.

"Without a doubt, 'Of Chaos And Carnal Pleasures' is our best sounding album to date. So kudos to Dan for really giving it his all while dealing with my demands for perfection. I'm sure it's frustrating for him at times, that poor bastard, but not a single complaint has been uttered in my direction. And this is the very guy who's absolutely doing more for the album at hand than I could really ask for. Thank you, Dan!

"With this information that I've just given to you, I guess you can figure out we have but one more track to finalize before I do my very last listening session to this masterpiece and then we're muthafucken DONE!

"Soon, Haters... soon you'll have your reward for supporting me and the work I've spent with my invaluable cohorts for 'OCACP' over the last 2 years. Feels kinda good, no?" More...

Crippled Black Phoenix Posts "Scared And Alone"

International dark rock collective and Season Of Mist-signee Crippled Black Phoenix has released an animated music video for the track "Scared and Alone," taken off the recently released full-length album "Bronze." The video was animated by Costin Chioreanu and can be seen below.

Regarding the video, Crippled Black Phoenix founder Justin Greaves comments: "Costin Chioreanu has created an amazing clip. His animation fits so very well that this can only come from someone, who truly understands the feeling behind this song. It is not an easy thing to connect with so I have nothing but respect and praise for Costin. 'Scared and Alone' speaks volumes about being cut off from the outside world and other people when the 'Black Dog' bites.

"Depression, anxiety and mental health are becoming bigger issues and when someone speaks up, it opens a door for other people to get things off their mind. Belinda wrote the lyrics as well as doing the vocals for 'Scared and Alone' and she did not need to be given any direction. As always, she took the title and the music and shaped the most real and heartfelt words into a very poetic form. I am deeply satisfied with the way everything turned out, both sonically and visually." More...

Damage Limit Announces "Crank" EP

After being founded in Helsinki in 2010, Damage Limit has been earning their respect through demo releases and playing a mass of live shows. First official production "Crank" will finally be released in January 13th, 2017 through Secret Entertainment. Inverse Records comments:

"On 'Crank,' Damage Limit's catchy choruses and grinding guitar riffs are doing most of the heavy lifting, but it's most definitely not that simple. Uplifting guitar leads cut through the high-pressure riffs in this rugged hard rock piece in which Damage Limit is painting the story of growing up in the suburbs of Helsinki Metropolitan Area. 'Crank' is a well-balanced and solid view to the future of Finnish hard rock scene."

The "Crank" EP was recorded and mixed by Jukka Salmi at Inka Studio (Orimattila, Southern Finland) and mastered by Janne Nurmi from Nurja Audio. Album artwork was created by Tomi Peltonen. While awaiting this new release, check out some previous tunes from Damage Limit below. More...

Sons Of Crom Signs With Nordvis

Sons Of Crom just inked a deal with independent label Nordvis for a new release coming next year. The record label comments:

"We're delighted to announce the alliance between Nordvis and the Haparanda northerners Sons of Crom! This new collaboration is something we definitely look forward to, especially because of the common roots, being neighbors in a wild Swedish north and the fact that their way of creating epic heavy metal will add another dimension to this family. After their amazing debut 'Riddle of Steel' we now look forward to adventure onwards on the path towards their upcoming craft that will be released late spring/early summer. And as many times before we and Sons of Crom will be working with our U.S. family over at Bindrune Recordings for the North American territory."

A few words by Sons of Crom regarding this new alliance: "With profound and whole-hearted excitement we announce the next chapter in the legacy and journey of Sons of Crom. A new coalition of Nordic forces will defy Hel itself as Nordvis, our new label and brother-in-arms, joins our heathen cause, guiding our black ship through restless seas of death and resurrection, leaving no haven safe.

"Nordvis was our first choice upon setting sail towards new horizons, our views on all things of import correlating tremendously. With great releases by great bands for many years, Nordvis has demonstrated a high level of quality, and we eagerly await to unleash the next beast upon the world. In Northern spirit this alliance is wrought, forged in fire and ice. Crom!" More...

Product Of Hate Posts Tribute To Lemmy

Yesterday was the one year anniversary since the passing of Lemmy, and Motorhead issued this tribute to the fallen icon:

"It was one year ago today that the world lost a legend - Motorhead frontman Lemmy Kilmister. As huge fans of both the man and his band, we were thrilled to have had a chance to meet him once during a visit to Los Angeles, and it happened at his honorary home, the Rainbow Bar And Grill.

"Lemmy died just four days past his 70th birthday, a true rocker 'till the end, and earlier this year we paid tribute with a special performance of 'Iron Fist' (with our guitarist, Cody, stepping up to the mic) as we celebrated the release of our Napalm Records debut, 'Buried in Violence.' Today, we throw up the horns and Drink 'em Up in honor of Lemmy!" More...
