"some music was meant to stay underground..."

The Green River Burial Posts Year End Message

Last month, The Green River Burial announced its impending demise after a final album release. Now the band has issued this year-end update:

"As another year draws to its close it is time to reflect on all the various thoughts and attitudes that shaped our behaviour this year.

"It took some time for us planning regarding our musical future and today we are happy to announce we will stay together as musicians and continue being a band - NOT as TGRB but as something else you will hear from soon through this page. We are humbly looking forward into creating new art and are incredibly eager to pick up work on this new project of ours and give it our all.

"As we announced before, we will still release the album we've been working on over the past years as TGRB before this chapter ends. Said album is already completely written and we were in the process of recording it when one of us relapsed into a serious health condition which left us being in a total work standstill regarding the TGRB album.

"We want to take a moment and make an explanation that this band - this album - focuses around the still way too much disregarded problem of mental health issues. We are not to blame or ridicule anyone for their inability to actively take part in everyday life or work because of certain conditions. The paralyzing effects of mental isolation bring seclusion even from your dearest friends, it is nothing to joke about or to romanticize, those who have been through it know that it is hell.

"This album we've worked on for more than a year now will be the ultimate result of the four of us going through our own struggles and moments of hopelessness, and as we went through it together, we will release it only together. We will have to wait for our currently inabled member to regain his strength and so will all of you.

"We wish everyone a great start into the new year and hope you make peace with everyone you're close to."
