Deathless Legacy Announces New Album
Deathless Legacy released debut album "Rise From The Grave" in 2014. A summary of the horror and the macabre haunting these band member's creepy minds, this talented group of young musicians was able to create a hazy, powerful and captivating sound, which they like to simply call horror metal.
In June 2014, Deathless Legacy was chosen as the opening band for Rob Zombie in Milan, while in September 2014 Alessio Lucatti (aka Alex Van Eden) from Vision Divine joined the macabre circus. In May of 2015 the band won the Italian Wacken Metal Battle and got to play the legendary Wacken Festival later that year.
After signing a new deal with Scarlet Records, Deathless legacy released second chapter "The Gathering," in 2016, allowing for incessantly touring throughout most of the year. During the summer the band started working on a third album, which will be released in January of 2017.
"Dance With Devils" gives voice to the witches who over the centuries have been mistreated, humiliated, and even burned. With its eleven tracks, the album collects the most horrific stories of black magic rituals, stories that are lost in the mists of time, a Sabbath of pure horror and black emotions, dealing with ignorance, superstition, religion. Omnisight Releasing "Power Of One"
Vancouver's progressive virtuosos from OmnisighT will be kicking off 2017 with the release of new EP "Power of One" on January 20th, which follows 2016 live album "Live At The Theatre." Vocalist/guitarist Raj Krishna comments:
“I think our guitar player fans will really like the new EP. I think fans of the songs will also be pleased with the thoughtful lyrics. I’m questioning the status quo. The song ‘Power of One’ is about how one person can make a difference in the world around them just with knowledge and a little spiritual balance. The album as a whole is a musical journey, there is the concept of standing up to the oppression and deceptions of the ruling class.”
"Power of One" will be available on iTunes, Spotify and Bandcamp as of January 20th, 2017 and features the following track listing:
1. Shift The Paradigm (5:24)

Hymn Releasing "Perish"
Today, Svart Records sets February 17th, 2017 as the international release date for Hymn's debut album, "Perish." Hailing from the Oslo underground, Hymn has paved the way forward with multiple full stacks, hard-hitting drumming, and an uncompromising approach to volume and tonality.
A statement from the band reads: "A long, loud, thorough, emotional, and really fun process is finally documented into approximately 50 minutes of music, titled 'Perish.' The last year has surely been a defining one for us, and we are really proud of the result. The album is definitely a more brutal, more refined, and a much colder experience than our self-titled EP from 2013, and we do feel that this album really represents where we want to be musically right now.
"It’s recorded, mixed, and mastered by Kim Lillestøl at Amper Tone studio in Oslo, and we pretty much recorded the whole thing in 48 intense hours. We are really looking forward to take the album on the road, and are are super-stoked that Svart Records wants to release it."

Armstrong Metal Fest Launches 666km Challenge
Armstrong Metal Fest, in association with the Western Canadian Metal Festival Alliance (WCMFA), is launching a new initiative for the Western Canadian metal music community to be more involved and aware of the area's collective.
Launching the #666kmchallenge, AMF and the WCMFA's goal is to encourage more financial support and purchase of local musicians' music and merchandise to boost the area's music economy.
The initiative was inspired by the 100 mile diet, which aims to have people buy and eat food within 100 miles of where that person lives. The AMF and the WCMFA has decided to apply that concept to the Canadian Music Scene with the #666kmchallenge.
How it works: music lovers of metal and any other genres are encouraged to buy music and merchandise from bands / musicians within 666 kilometers of where they live.
For example: Kelowna is within 666 km from both Calgary and Victoria, therefore people from Kelowna could buy anything from bands in those areas and it would be considered a part of the #666kmchallenge. More...

73 Lose Jobs As Team Rock Future Uncertain
DailyRecord.co.uk is reporting that 73 people are now out of jobs as Team Rock - the parent company to Metal Hammer, Classic Rock, and Prog magazines - has been taken over by administrators attempting to stave off bankruptcy. An excerpt from the report follows:
Publisher Team Rock Ltd has gone into administration with the loss of 73 jobs. The Hamilton-based business, founded in 2012, published a stable of rock music magazines as well as the rock music website www.teamrock.com and TeamRock internet radio.
Team Rock had also acquired the Classic Rock, Prog and Metal Hammer magazines from Future Publishing in 2013 in a £10.2 million deal which took the Small/ Mid sized Deal of the Year at Insider's 2013 Deals and Dealmakers Awards.
Appointed administrators from FRP Advisory said the business had traded at a loss “for a significant period of time, with consequent constraints on the cash position." The administrators added: “Cost-cutting measures were implemented and despite the best efforts of the directors to seek additional investment or a purchaser for the business, no deal could be completed, leaving the company with no viable option other than to enter administration and to immediately cease trading. A handful of staff have been retained to assist the administrators, with all other employees made redundant.”
Team Rock employed 31 staff at its offices in High Blantyre, Glasgow and a further 49 at its offices in London. Across both offices, seven staff have been retained to assist the administrators.
According to the report, the seven employees who have been retained will assist with continued physical publications and website maintenance, but it's unclear if sites like Metal Hammer are going to remain operational in the coming weeks with such a reduced work froce.
Our condolences go out to all those fellow metal writers and staff who have lost their jobs this holiday season. More...

Electric Age has sign to Italian stoner doom label Argonauta Records. Hailing from Louisiana, Electric Age formed in 2013 and has taken the craft of sludge and southern metal, incorporateing the dynamics of more traditional metal, along with folk , doom and straight forward rock.
This all collides to create the epic tale of debut album “Sleep of the Silent King.” The band comments: “We are excited to be a part of the Argonauta family, and find solace in being with a label that truly respects the genre and shares in the love of this style of music and all it can offer."
“Sleep of the Silent King” was mixed and mastered by acclaimed producer Christopher “Zeuss” Harris and is a conceptual and mythological journey through the threshold of time and consciousness, into the heart of darkness and divinity, through death and redemption, and finally into the inexorable void. Annihilator Releases Acoustic Song
The Canadian thrash masters from Annihilator recently announced the upcoming release of "Triple Threat," a three-disc collection of music based in a trio of very different scenarios, due out January 27th, 2017 via UDR Music.
Today, the band revealed an acoustic video for classic track "Sounds Good To Me," the very first track to be released from disc one of the set, "Un-Plugged: The Watersound Studios Sessions." Take a listen below.
This main disc of "Triple Threat" comprises a set of Annihilator's classics performed acoustically, with band leader/guitarist/songwriter and vocalist Jeff Waters bringing together band members Aaron Homma and Rich Hinks, Vancouver, BC drummer and friend Marc LaFrance, plus Ottawa session player Pat Robillard.
Recorded and mixed by Waters, this quintet recorded everything live off the floor and in single takes at Watersound Studios in Dunrobin, Canada during late May and early June 2016, giving Waters one of the most challenging, satisfying and perhaps "electric" creative moments in his career.
The second disc will feature Annihilator's vicious set from the 2016 Band Your Head Festival, a set which illustrates the very best of what Annihilator is known for - tight, sharp, technically-excellent and melodic thrash metal music. The set is rounded out by a third Blu-Ray/DVD featuring visual accompaniments. More...

Anthrax Posts "Suzerain" Video
"Suzerain," an intense and politically-charged track from Anthrax's "For All Kings" album, consists of lyricist Scott Ian's musings about a leader who would be so powerful that all nations, all people, would come under his benevolent authority, and in return, he would bring peace, happiness and prosperity to all of Earth.
"Mankind keep making the same mistakes over and over," said Ian. "You'd think that after thousands of years of religious, economic and ideologic wars, we'd have figured out how to live with each other, but we haven't. That's what drew me to the idea for 'Suzerain.'"
The "Suzerain" video incorporates the game of chess along with images of battles fought by ancient empires to illustrate imperial power. You can check out the new lyric clip below.
Anthrax will hit the road in 2017 first with an appearance at the 70,000 Tons of Metal cruise, and then will launch the "Among The Kings" tour, starting with a 26-date UK/European trek seguing into the band's North American co-headline tour with Killswitch Engage, dubbed "Killthrax." More...
