Todtgelichter Announces Final Album, Tour Dates
Following the "Rooms" album release earlier in 2016, German avant-garde outfit Todtgelichter has revealed 2017 will be the band's final year. A handful of last shows are being lined up, along with a final studio output. The band comments:
"Okay people, some sad news for you: We have mutually decided to put Todtgelicther on ice indefinitely. We will play some selected shows in 2017 (the last ones in March/April), after that we will effectively function as a studio band for one more album coming soon (promise!) and then –
Good Night.
"Reasons? Legion. The effort to create something new and exciting with which we can surprise ourselves feels bigger and bigger, and we keep asking ourselves more often why we put up with it. Add to that the hardships of the whole business, the decline of physical sales, the fading will to tolerate let-downs and disappointments you inevitably get when people that are supposed to work with you do not burn for the band with the same fire as you do, the fact that any band our size will know this hobby is a money-burning machine (Did we really get filthy rich with the supposedly moneygrabbing move 'Apnoe?' Not so. Yes, people actually did accuse us of that intention). More...

"Writing 'Feed The Pigs' came very naturally for us; one of the least stressful, yet one of the most important songs we have ever written," Garritty details to Huffington Post. "We have always been very conscious of the world around us, especially the environment. With everything that is going on around us right now, I felt that this song needed to be heard... so inspiration wouldn't be the word - it is more of a wake-up call! Our society needs to clue in to what is going on! Change has to start right now!"
Although originally hailing from Canada, the members of All Hail The Yeti have resided in the Los Angeles, CA metropolitan area for several years. Garritty, a business owner in the state of California (Timeless Tattoo), personally feels the sting hitting small mom and pop shops everywhere. More...

Damned Pilots Stream New Song "Gorguss"
Today marks the the release of "Overgalaxy" from Italy's Damned Pilots via Sliptrick Records. To celebrate, the band is streaming the new song "Gorguss." Check it out in the player below.
"Overgalaxy" is a steam punk concept album. As drummer/founder Don Nutz says: "it’s built on the story of four cartoon characters, Don Nutz, Sgt Ote, Willer Hertz and Erik Space …aka The Damned Pilots. They travel through space in the year 2500 A.C. on a 1970’s hippy van customized to fight against their archenemy Gorguss and his evil empire." The lyrics, written by Sgt Ote, are about love and hate, war and peace, past and future, rebellions against failed systems, all imbued with the sensibilities and humor of classic sci-fi b-movies.
The album was been recorded at Track Terminal Studio in Trieste, Italy by Francesco Bardy, except "Just Another Day" and "People Don’t Die," which were recorded at Voodoosound Studios in Ijmuiden, Holland by Paul van Rijswijk. The album was produced by Ron Goudie (Gwar, Death Angel, Poison) and mixed and mastered by legendary producer Bill Metoyer (W.A.S.P., Trouble, Slayer). The artwork has been made by Philippine graphic designer Uzi Emperado.
"Overgalaxy" includes nine songs written by Don Nutz and Sgt Ote and one by Ron Goudie ("Hell Is Cold"). The style varies from mid tempo groovy metal to doom metal plus psychedelics ballads all strung together by catchy melodies. More...
