Alarum Sign With Willowtip

Progressive death/thrash/jazz infused metal band Alarum have joined the Willowtip roster. Back in the early 90's, which were undoubtedly the glory days of death metal, there were bands like Cynic, Atheist, and Pestilence that were far ahead of their time playing a style of jazzy progressive death metal that set the standard for the genre. Years have past and still these bands are considered to be the tops in the genre and few bands have ever come close to recording albums as great as the pioneers, UNTIL NOW. Forthcoming album "Eventuality" is quite simply as good as progressive jazz infused death metal can get, and will prove to be a classic release. This is an album that any fan of forward thinking and progressive music cannot pass up.

The debut album "Eventuality" will hit stores in North America on November 16, 2004.

Recently named one of the 50 most wanted bands on the planet by Australian Kerrang: "'Eventuality' is an intoxicating mix of constantly shifting riffs and clinical percussion.Guitar synths are used (but not abused) to create an other-worldly effect, which along with acoustic guitars and ambient interludes gives Eventuality that rarest of qualities: Complexity and balance."

Winds Update On Upcoming Album

From The End Records website:

Over the summer we entered Panser Studio in Oslo, Norway to record drums for the next and upcoming Winds album. We had written nine compositions and felt the time was ready to begin manifesting the basic tracks for this effort. These compositions are in no way finished at this point, but Jan Axel laid down some of his most challenging and creative drumwork to date, which will serve as the foundation of what the record will be built upon.
The entire studio process went really well, and we have to extend our gratitude to BT Pro Audio, SE Electronics, and not the least Audio Media Professional AS who were majorly involved in providing us with the mics and other gear we needed for these drum recordings. We will not speculate on when the next album will be ready, but we hope it will see a release towards the end of 2005, at which point you can expect to hear another fabulous yet also very different Winds album.

Eidolon Update From Gothenburg

Eidolon drummer Shawn Drover has issued this report from Gothenburg, where he is currently recording drums tracks for the next Eidolon album:

Hello from Gothenburg, Sweden! I just thought I would give a quick update while I have a minute here. We are in the middle of drum-editing as I write this - all drum tracks went down quite well and without major catastrophic scenarios, which is always nice. About 65 minutes or so worth of music - hopefully of all which will indeed make the record (you never can tell though - we usually record more than we end up using, same could apply here, we'll see).

Andy La Rocque has been great to work with, as well as going well beyond the call of duty in both a professional and personal aspect. He has shown me many cool sights in and around Gothenburg, which has been just great! Gothenburg is such a cool city to be in and explore. Lots of "rockers" out and about, and the woman - man oh man! I've never seen so many good looking blonde woman in my life! (a bit off-topic, here, but certainly worth mentioning). A very positive experience all around, I would say.

I return home on Sunday, at this time I will be sending Glen a copy of the finished drum tracks - Glen is off on his own adventure in Arizona, as Megadeth rehearsals commence today. I am quite sure he is having a blast as well!

It's all good here, people - positive vibes are running rampant in the in the wacky metal world that is Eidolon!
