Isengard Announce New Singer
Swedish power metallers ISENGARD have announced the addition of singer Morgan J. Johansson (ex-CRYSTAL BLUE) to the group's ranks.
Morgan is 36 years old and hails from ?rebro, Sweden. After his CRYSTAL BLUE stint, he did a few tours with different cover bands around Scandinavia.
"Morgan has a ton of experience," stated ISENGARD bassist Ted Lundin. "Even though it's not this kind of music, he will be valuable resource for ISENGARD and it will be VERY interesting working with him."
"I never thought that an AOR singer would suit to our music until I heard Morgan," added guitarist Ronnie Andreson. "He has a voice that can take ISENGARD's music to a whole new level."
ISENGARD, who are currently unsigned, will begin writing new material for their next recording. Several gigs in Sweden are also planned.
Danzig & Cantrell To Collaborate On Concept Album
Britain's Metal Hammer magazine is reporting that Glenn Danzig (DANZIG, ex-MISFITS) is working on a concept album with ex-ALICE IN CHAINS axeman Jerry Cantrell.
The record, which Danzig describes as "death blues," will double up as the soundtrack to a movie adaptation of Danzig's Verotik comic.
DANZIG released their new album, "Circle of Snakes", in August through Danzig's Evilive label (Regain Records in Europe). Cantrell is writing his third solo album while continuing to play select gigs with his "jam" band CARDBOARD VAMPYRES (which also features ex-THE CULT guitarist Billy Duffy and former MOTLEY CRUE frontman John Corabi).
Former Medication Guitarist Surfaces In Idol X
IDOL X, the new band formed by ex ex-MEDICATION/ADAYINTHELIFE Blunt (a.k.a. Mark Hunt), have posted four demo tracks online at this location. The group, who are currently unsigned, are seeking a lead singer to complete the band's lineup.
Temper On Hiatus
Jonny Santos, former SpineShank frontman and more recently involved with his own project Temper, recently elected to take leave of the music industry for the foreseeable future, leaving the following statement behind:
"Hey everyone, First off i would like to thank all who have been so patient in waiting for Temper to surface with an album. Unfortunately I dont see that happening anytime soon. Temper will be going on hiatus and we dont know when or if the band will resurface. This is mainly due to myself and others in the band pursuing other projects. I know you guys are probably just getting used to me being in a new band but I just dont have the time to be in a band right now. I am trying to spend more time with my family lately since i was on the road for so many years and i need to take a break. Matt and Rob are also experiencing similar situations, as we all know that Matt owns Funeral Clothing(www.funeralclothing.com) which is a fulltime job in itself, and Rob is pursuing a new buisness venture that will take him away for a while. Jermz and Chris are going to continue with some sort of project and as soon as they are ready the will announce it on the message board which i plan to leave up and running for you guys. As for myself, some of you may know that i was a custom motorcycle builder before i was in spineshank. Well I will be doing that again for a while because its my 2nd love after music, and it will allow me to stay home for a while. It is safe to say that I will return to music eventually but I really need to breathe for a while.I will continue to manage bands so if any of you would like to submit material i will be listing a p.o. box on the message board for you this week. I hope all of you understand and I would like to thank you guys for all the support."

Nine Inch Nails Trash New Album Title
NINE INCH NAILS frontman Trent Reznor has answered some questions from fans on the band's official site, Nin.com. Among them, he said, "[The album title] 'Bleedingthrough' is no more. As the songs and concepts matured, the focus and theme of the album shifted somewhat - leaving me feeling that title was inappropriate. Or you could just say I changed my mine.
To be more clear: there IS a new NIN record, it WILL be done - as in finished and mixed - before the end of this year, 2004. It will then tentatively be released 3/05 and extensive touring will take place beginning around that time. It will not be titled "Bleedingthrough." Yes, the new album has a title and track list, and I'm not telling you what it is yet.
There are a lot more songs finished that won't be on this record, so who knows where they might end up."
Metallica Documentary Up For An Award
Metallica's acclaimed documentary, "Some Kind Of Monster," has been nominated in the "Feature" category of the 20th annual International Documentary Association (IDA) Distinguished Documentary Achievement Awards. The movie, co-directed by Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky, will go up against 13 other films, including "Fahrenheit 9/11," "The Corporation," "Control Room," "Aileen: Life And Death Of A Serial Killer" and several more. The winners will be announced at the IDA Awards Benefit Gala on December 10th, at the Directors Guild of America Theatre in Hollywood.
Metallica frontman James Hetfield says that he has no regrets about the film, a candid look at the turbulent and near-disastrous making of their 2003 album, "St. Anger." "The movie is very, very open and very scary for us. There are times when I just want to take it all back. But I know it's good for us. The more we put our heart and our realness out there, the more that we'll connect with the world."
For more information on the IDA, go to documentary.org. "Some Kind Of Monster" is tentatively due for release on DVD sometime this fall.
The band is currently on the final leg of their 2004 North American tour.
