Life of Agony Confirmed Signed To Epic
LIFE OF AGONY have confirmed they indeed signed a deal with Epic Records. The bands website reads as follows:
"LIFE OF AGONY proudly announce their signing to EPIC RECORDS. The band is very excited about being part of the EPIC family alongside labelmates AUDIOSLAVE, CHEVELLE & OZZY OSBOURNE (among many others). Ben Goldman, Senior Vice President of A&R for Epic Records, signed the group on the strength of their 4 song demo featuring songs such as "Love To Let U Down," "The Day he Died," "Justified," & "The Calm That Disturbs You." The group plans to enter the recording studio before year's end with a producer to be named shortly. A tentative release date is scheduled for early 2005."
Battle for Ozzfest Audition Rejects
MTV's latest effort for a reality based TV show, the 'Battle for Ozzfest', has throw up a small clip previewing the bands that didn't quite make the cut. The 'Battle for Ozzfest' premieres on October 25th on MTV at 10:30 pm.
Steev of Skinlab Set To Do Exodus Vocals on Tour
Following the firing of Exodus vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza and the subsequent addition of Exodus to the Megadeth tour (replacing 12 Stones), it appears Steev Esquivel of SKINLAB / RE:IGNITION will be handling all vocal duties for the Bay Area's EXODUS on the bands forthcoming tour in support of MEGADETH. Also appearing on the bill with EXODUS will be nu-rockers EARSHOT.
New Marduk Album Release Date Revealed
Regain Records has set a November 22 European release date for the new album from Swedish black metallers Marduk, entitled "Plague Angel." The CD, which was recorded at Endarker studio in Norrköping, Sweden with producer Devo Andersson, will be the band's first release with new singer Mortuus (previously a member of Funeral Mist and Trimphator under the alias Arioch). A video for the track "Throne of Rats" is currently being produced by director Roger Johansson (The Haunted, In Flames, Hammerfall) and is being described as "a morbid masterpiece and a tribute to death and war."
Marduk will embark on a massive world tour beginning in December. The European portion of the trek, dubbed "Deathmarch 2004/2005," will be divided into two parts, with the first taking place in December and the second during spring 2005.
Broken Teeth To Release Live CD
Perris Records is extremely proud to announce the release of the new Broken Teeth CD "Blood On The Radio." Broken Teeth features Jason McMaster & Paul Lidel of Dangerous Toys fame. "Blood On The Radio" was recorded live in 2004 in Austin, Texas and features 15 tracks spanning both studio albums "Broken Teeth" & "Guilty Pleasure." "Blood..." also features a brand new track called "Bonfire." Look for the release "Blood On The Radio" just in time for Halloween 2004!
The CD was engineered by Chet Himes (Ted Nugent).

Anguish Force Announce New Guitarist
Ivan Dalia ex axe-man and mastermind of Evenfall is the the new guitarist of the Heavy/Thrash Metal band Anguish Force. "Ivan is a friend and a superlative guitarist and composer, with the spirit of the old Metal school in the veins. For the band and for our music this is a very great thing. The twin guitars in a Heavy Metal band like ours is a must."

40 Below Summer Parts Ways With Guitarist
40 Below Summer have parted ways with guitarist Jordan Plingos. The group's official statement on the matter is as follows:
After five years of working together, 40 Below Summer and Jordan Plingos have decided to part ways. We appreciate everything that he and his family had brought to the band. We'll always wish Jordan the best in all of his future endeavors and will never forget him.
...And so begins the new era of 40 Below Summer. Filling in for the next tour will be Ty Fury, formerly of Motograter. Get ready for what is to come.
40 Below Summer's most recent album, "The Mourning After," was released last November through Razor & Tie Records.
Eastpak Resistance Tour Compilation To Be Released
Side One Dummy Records will be releasing the "Eastpak Resistance Tour Compilation 2004" shortly before the tour hits the road in early November. The compilation will include 26 "ass-kicking, rare and even exclusive tracks of world's best metalcore and hardcore bands," according to a posting on the Eastpak Resistance web site. Among the acts featured on the CD are Unearth, 7 Seconds, Sick of It All, Slapshot, Discipline, Agnostic Front and Death by Stereo.
This year's Eastpak Resistance Tour will kick off November 5 in Geneva, Switzerland and will include appearances by Sick of It All, 7 Seconds, The Bones, Slapshot, Walls of Jericho and Unearth. Last year's Eastpak Resistance Tour featured headliners Suicidal Tendencies alongside Madball, Ignite, Death by Stereo, Sworn Enemy, Backfire!, Length of Time and Knuckledust.
Alove For Enemies To Record Facedown Debut
Long Island's Alove For Enemies have announced they will record their Facedown Records debut in December at Trax East Studios. The full length has been titled The Harvest and a March release is planned.

Negative Sign To Roadrunner Records
Finnish hard/glam rockers NEGATIVE have inked a multi-album, worldwide deal with Roadrunner Records. The first release under the agreement (which excludes Scandinavia, Italy, Russia and Japan) will be the group's sophomore album, "Sweet & Deceitful", which topped the Finnish album chart upon its release a month ago. The follow-up to 2003's gold-certified (and approaching platinum) "War of Love" features a guest appearance by SENTENCED/POISONBLACK frontman Ville Laihiala.

Heavy Metal Calendar In The Works
Beginning in November, Black Planet will be offering for sale its 2005 Heavy Metal Calendar. This full-color month-to-month wall calendar features the stunning concert photography of Matt Johnsen (Metal Maniacs) and a whirlwind of heavy metal trivia. Metal fans will find a reason to celebrate and commemorate nearly each day of the year, whether it be the anniversary of BATHORY's first rehearsal, "Ride the Lightning" turning 20, or Bruce Dickinson's (IRON MAIDEN) birthday. The calendar represents a wide range of metal culture - everything from SABBATH giving Ozzy the axe to the singer of KRIEG vomiting on a French audience.
The Calendar will be sold online and through a host of underground distributors. More information will be announced soon.
