Decrpit Birth Seek Second Guitarist
Santa Cruz, California-based death metallers DECREPIT BIRTH have issued the following update:
"DECREPIT BIRTH is officially looking for a second guitarist who is ready for touring and playing shows. We are looking for someone who is a professional-minded musician, who has skill and some experience. It's also very important that you have professional equipment or are ready to upgrade.
"DECREPIT BIRTH is a death metal band with its roots in brutal death metal, but we are really incorporating a more melodic and mature sound into the band, so don't expect to join the band and only play brutal. Our influences range from bands such as SUFFOCATION, MORBID ANGEL and NILE to DEATH, CYNIC and QUO VADIS. So if this seems like something that you or someone you know would be interested in, please learn the tabs posted on our website under the 'Downloads' section (songs from our first album) and make some sort of video of you playing the songs if you want to be considered for the position. You MUST submit a video for consideration, unless we are already familiar with your skills. Please contact us at decrepitbirth@msn.com or www.myspace.com/decrepitbirth." More...
Monolithe Update
After more than one year spent in stand-by mode, Monolithe comes back to the world of the living. The new album 'MONOLITHE III' is currently being composed and will be recorded during 2007. Again, the album will feature one unique, long song.
Finally, the 'Interlude Premier' MCD will not see the light of day due to conflicts between Appease Me and Candlelight Records. However, the 20 minute song 'Monolithic Pillars' supposed to be featured on this release will be used in another way.
While Heaven Wept Sign With Cruz Del Sur
Epic doom legends While Heaven Wept has teamed up with Cruz Del Sur Music for the release of their new album 'Vast Oceans Lachrymose' due out in late 2007.
The band writes on its website:
"Although there were many fair and generous offers from various entities after the untimely closure of Black Lotus Records, we felt that working with Cruz Del Sur Music would be the best option for us at this time, and that aside, several members of our extended musical family, including Slough Feg and Widow are part of the ever-growing (and strengthening) roster."More...

Interview
Interview with Hurtlocker's Tim Moe
Chicago's HURTLOCKER released their debut LP “Fear In A Handful of Dust” in 2005 on Napalm Records, offering up an all-out sonic assault of ones senses, clearly showing everyone around the true metal community that they're a name to reckon with for the future of metal as it moves forward out of the emo-fied, pop sweetened crap heap of bands that are merely using the great genre's name to try and pawn itself off as the real deal. They have enjoyed some strong radio play off Chicago's largest rock station, 94.7 The Zone, being put in rotation among the elite names of heavy music such as Lamb Of God and Anthrax and are now in preparation to record the next album, in hopes of finally pushing themselves to the top of the game and onto world tours where they rightfully belong. I am pleased to present the following Q&A with their guitarist, Tim Moe. More...

Saxon's World Record Air Guitar Attempt Failed
Saxon's attempt to break the world record for the most people playing air guitar at the same time might have actually failed. It happened at Hillsborough during the half-time interval in the football match between Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland, when around 30,000 fans were encouraged to play air guitar to new Saxon single 'If I Was You'. Yet, despite earlier reports that they'd succeeded, now it seems the crowd were less than enthusiastic.
Candlemass Announce New Singer
The band comments on their new choice of singer in Robert Lowe of Solitude Aeturnus:
"After months of auditions it is now official who replaces Messiah Marcolin in CANDLEMASS. Robert Lowe, well known for his work with SOLITUDE AETURNUS, is the man who killed all the competition and showed that he beyond doubt is the most capable man for the job. A worthy successor!!
Robert will still be fronting SA, but since there's a whole ocean between the bands, we/CANDLEMASS, feel that this is a great solution that is very beneficial for everybody. The mighty voice from Dallas Texas, is thrown into the fire immediately and is starting the vocal work on the new CANDLEMASS album in a matter of days. CANDLEMASS are sure that the words 'amazing' and 'incredible' will be used to describe the result! CANDLEMASS would also like to thank all the gifted singers who applied for the job. Many talents from all over the world have been heard. We are sure that they will continue to be heard for a long time, but not in CANDLEMASS. The band have finally found the ideal replacement for Messiah Marcolin – Robert Lowe! The new album will KILL!!"
