Klone Signs with Season Of Mist

French modern metal act Klone recently joined the Season of Mist fold. Klone have a great following in France and are considered as an artier and more subtle form of the New Wave of French heavy metal initiated by Gojira, whose singer Joe appears as special guest on the album.

The band comments: "We are happy and really motivated about working with Season of Mist because we feel it's the best label to develop Klone in France and abroad. We saw how they worked with bands like Mayhem, Dagoba, The Old Dead Tree and we can't wait for the album to be released! We're quite impatient, as we waited for this moment for a long time now. We've been devoting ourselves to music for a while, and this is only the beginning... We aim to tour as much as possible, and Season of Mist can give us that opportunity. No doubt the release of the album will spread the word about us everywhere, which is really important because we've been working very hard to achieve that. The audience will soon be aware of it! You'll never stop hearing about Klone!"

The group's new album, "All Seeing Eye," is slated for a February 26, 2008 release (Feb. 18th in Europe). In the meantime, you can check them out here.

Daath Return To Tour The US with Dark Funeral

Refueled and ready to slay, Daath are returning to the US for a full-on aural assault. After spending a few days bringing a dose of Daathliness to Japan, the band is set to hit the road with death metal natives, Dark Funeral and Naglfar. Dates will span over a month, with the metal tour kicking off on October 10th in Springfield, Virginia and wrapping up on November 4th in Covington, Kentucky. This solid lineup will mark the band’s triumphant return to the US after a highly successful run on this summer’s free Ozzfest 2007.

Daath has also created a series of short videos available via their YouTube page and Roadrunner site entitled DAATHUMENTARY. Each of the video episodes is designed to take fans behind the scenes and expose the core of Daath’s drive and passion. The first installment features a backstage look at Ozzfest 2007, band banter and explanations of some of the deeper spiritual concepts of the band and music. The second installment of DAATHUMENTARY features another insight into the unpredictable lives of the band, as well as fine repair skills!

The first and second episode of DAATHUMENTARY can be viewed here.

Spawned from an esoteric heart, Daath’s compositions and credo coincide with a stream of concepts linked to the Hebrew Tree of Life/Death. In the Tree of Life/Death, there are thirteen points and each one of the songs on their Roadrunner Records debut, The Hinderers, is representative of each of these points. Produced by James Murphy (Testament, Obituary), the album has been received with high critical acclaim. The band has begun working on concepts for their next release, encompassing ideas plucked from the spiritual vein. Pursuing higher planes, Daath is metal with a conscience, sparking extreme thought within the metal community.

Here are the latest Daath tour dates: More...

Disgraced Judas Priest Drummer To Write A Book

The following report is courtesy of Liz Lee from Northamptonchron.co.uk:

A former rock star convicted of trying to rape a teenage boy in his Northamptonshire cottage is to write an expose of his life story when he is freed from prison.

Dave Holland, the ex-drummer of heavy metal band JUDAS PRIEST, always denied any involvement in the attempted rape of the special needs student but was convicted of the crime at Northampton Crown Court in January 2004 and sentenced to eight years in jail.

Author Neil Daniels, who has now written and published The Story of Judas Priest: Defenders Of The Faith, claims Holland wrote to him from his prison cell and is planning to write a tell-all biography of his life and career, as well as appeal against the court's decision.

The letter, dated November 2006 and published in full in Mr Daniels' book, said: "I was convicted of a crime that I didn't commit and like so many others in similar situations to the one in which I find myself, an offence that never even existed in the first place...

"There is absolutely no difference whatsoever between the criteria that is permitted to be applied in sex offences now and that which was applied in cases of witchcraft in the 17th century.

"I am now, after much work and effort that would be impossible to describe in any detail, more of less prepared for an appeal against my conviction.

"I will be writing a book about my life and career in the music business and about the people I've met and events and incidents that have taken place during the course of it, which of course, will include the last 10 years."

Holland, aged 59, was convicted of trying to rape the 17-year-old in his cottage in The Green, Stoke Bruerne, while giving him drumming lessons. The abuse was revealed in a letter written by the teenager to his parents.

At the time of the trial, Judge Charles Wide said Holland had "deliberately and calculatedly planned a strategy to abuse a boy who he knew was exceptionally vulnerable".

The Acacia Strain Announce Tour

THE ACACIA STRAIN, have confirmed most dates for an upcoming fall headlining tour dubbed Crashing Through the Holidays to continue supporting the band's latest release, 'The Dead Walk.' Joining the band on the road will be Despised Icon, Full Blown Chaos and the Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, with additional support from Recon, Implosive Disgorgance and Ligeia on select dates. Currently wrapping up dates alongside labelmates All That Remains as well as Protest The Hero and Too Pure To Die, THE ACACIA STRAIN will take a month off the road before heading back out in late November.

"We're wicked excited for this tour," frontman Vincent Bennet says. "I've wanted to tour with all of these bands forever, and we finally are. We are going to be playing some songs that we haven't played in forever or haven't been able to play due to the lack of a second guitar (hint) and will be showcasing a new song or two. Expect a ton of "thumbs up" and some serious hangouts. Save your pennies too, because we are going to have a bunch of one time only merch designs! I can think of no better way to ring in the holiday season than with all the bands on this tour. Sorry to our friends in the Great White North though, we are seriously trying to stay away from those dangerous snow-covered roadways. I promise we will make it up to you when the warmer weather hits. See everyone in November and December!"

Paul Bostaph Back With Testament

Paul Bostaph (ex-SLAYER/EXODUS) will join the ranks alongside originating classic thrash legends Chuck Billy on vocals, Alex Skolnick on lead guitar, Eric Peterson on rhythm guitar and Greg Christian on bass. Unfortunately Nick Barker (ex-DIMMU BORGIR, CRADLE OF FILTH) will not be recording with Testament on this new album, due to Homeland Security and International Work Visa issues. Rather than delaying this long awaited return of Testament, the band has chosen to recruit Paul Bostaph, long time friend and member, to record on the much anticipated album, which is tentatively scheduled for a spring 2008 release via Nuclear Blast.

Six Feet Under Drummer Writing New Material

SIX FEET UNDER drummer Greg Gall is currently writing/recording material with a new, yet-to-be-named band. The guitarist spot has been filled by Brian Loyd (BLOYD).

Commented Gall: "The entire recording is being done at John and Donald Tardy's (OBITUARY) studio in Tampa. So far, recording there has been a very stress-free experience. We've really had the luxury of time on our side. It's given us the ability to focus and really put everything we have into each song.

"John and Donald's input has been priceless in engineering and producing the effort to this point.

"We're working to record four songs prior to filling the bassist and vocal positions, which we look to do around November or early December. Then we'll spend some time shopping for label interest.

"This is going to be more than just a side project; it'll be something I think will really go a long way.

"We've spent a lot of time on this material and what Brian and I have written so far has me really looking forward to adding the remaining pieces of this band and the release of our inaugural CD."
