Thirdmoon Sets Release Date For New Album
The release date for the new Thirdmoon album, "Dimorphic Cynosure," has been set for November 23. Listeners can expect the most aggressive but also most melancholic Thirdmoon album, as well as lyrically and musically the most emotional release from mastermind Wolfgang Rothbauer.
This concept album will be available as a JewelCase with a running time of 62 minutes at the retail market, and there will also be a limited edition coming as a DigiPak. Beside an exclusive artwork, the DigiPak version will also have 4 bonus tracks. Among them are "Bloodfield", an exclusive Soundtrack for the "elite-marsball" Online-Game (www.marsball.fr), and three acoustic instrumentals, which originated spontaneously during the recording of the album and are very important to the band since the emotional condition during the time of recording was set to music quite sentimentally, honestly and spontaneously.
The DigiPak will only be available via Twilight-Vertrieb and selected mailorders, and through the band itself and the Maintain Record Store.
Onesidezero Streaming Entire New Album
Los Angeles based Onesidezero are now streaming the group’s entire new self-titled album online.
"We feel this record represents where we are now in life and music," says frontman Jasan Radford. "We just wanted to share our music with as many people as possible and the internet gives us a chance to do that."
Onesidezero’s sophomore album was recorded at UnderCity Recordings in Hollywood, CA with producer Ulrich Wild (Static-X, Stabbing Westward, Taproot). The album was released by independent powerhouse Corporate Punishment Records and is the long awaited follow-up to the band’s critically acclaimed 2001 debut "Is This Room Getting Smaller," which saw the group tour with the likes of Incubus, 311, Static-X, and Soulfly.
"This time around I went back to my roots as far as songwriting. Back to the metal, classical, blues and all the good stuff my parents raised me on," commented guitarist Levon Sultanian about the album. "Our old fans will still feel the classic Onesidezero vibe yet we will be reaching out to wider audiences as well."

Nevermore Releases Ozzy Cover Online
NEVERMORE's cover of OZZY OSBOURNE's "Revelation (Mother Earth)" has been posted at this location. The track was originally recorded during the "This Godless Endeavor" sessions but the vocals weren't completed in time to have the song included as a bonus track on the Japanese edition of the CD (as was the plan at one point).
In a July 2005 interview with Metal-Rules.com, guitarist Jeff Loomis stated about the song, "Initially it was going to go on the new record but the record is already goddamn 60 minutes long so we didnt wanna add anything more to it since we thought it was a perfect time." Asked if the members of the band were big fans of late OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Randy Rhoads, Jeff replied, "Yeah, we are, and so is Andy Sneap [producer] and, of course, so is Steve [Smyth, then-NEVERMORE guitarist]. This time we didnt do it like the JUDAS PRIEST thing or the SIMON AND GARFUNKEL thing, we did it exactly as on the record. It's amazing how close it sounds to the original with all the acoustics and everything. It's kinda funny because a long time ago when Andy saw Ozzy live with Randy Rhoads he got one of Randy's guitar picks and we actually used it during the recording process of the song. . . [The solo in the song] is killer, it's totally awesome! We all split the solo up in three different sections so I play one part of it, Steve plays a partof it, and actually Andy plays the end of it."
3rd Strike Reform and Post New Music Online
Rap rocking hippity hoppers 3RD STRIKE, formerly of OZZFEST’s 2nd stage and doers of a ‘Paranoid’ cover, have reformed with a new lineup and are working on new material. A brand new song entitled ‘Battle Cry’, recorded with producer Darian Rundall (Pennywise, Yellowcard) is up for listening on their MySpace page.

Insomnius Dei To Release Debut In November
INSOMNIUS DEI, the Australian ambient/experimental doom/death project led by Mark Kelson (THE ETERNAL, CRYPTAL DARKNESS), will release its debut album, "Illusions of Silence", on November 19 via the Firebox sub-label Firedoom Music. The CD was recorded at Kelson's No. 13 Studios in Melbourne, Australia with Mark engineering and producing. Mastering duties were handled by Endel Rivers, who works with Mark's other band THE ETERNAL as engineer/producer.
In early 2006, on completion of the music for "Illusions of Silence", Mark decided that the addition of other musicians would make the album more than just another one-dimensional solo album. As a result, the talents of Terry Vainoras were enlisted.
Terry is best known in Australia for his work with the likes of DAMAGED, EARTH, CANONERO and CRYPTAL DARKNESS. Terry is also the major lyrical contributor to INSOMNIUS DEI, and his vocals range from gentle and emotive to straight-out brutal and aggressive. Working on INSOMNIUS DEI is like coming full circle for Mark and Terry, having both been in the Melbourne scene for over 10 years, as well as collaborating previously in CRYPTAL DARKNESS. More...

The album was produced by longtime friend Ben Schigel (CHIMAIRA, WALLS OF JERICHO), and features a collaboration track with MÖTLEY CRÜE's Nikki Sixx and BEAUTIFUL CREATURES' DJ Ashba.
DROWNING POOL recently extended its current "This Is For The Soldiers" tour, with the newly announced shows ending on November 8 in New York City. THE EXIES will appear on the bill as well. As previously reported, 50 cents of each ticket sale from the jaunt is going to the non-profit organization Iraq & Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), with another 50 cents going to the USO. Devildriver Frontman Slams Venom
Metal-Rules.com's Sean AKA “Lord of The Wasteland” has issued an interview conducted last month with DEVILDRIVER's Dez Fafara. The following is an excerpt from the interview:
Q: DevilDriver was supposed to tour with Venom last year. How disappointing was that when that got cancelled?
A: "Really bad and really fucking disappointing in the way that they reacted. Those are heroes of mine and what happened is they postponed their tour TWICE, and as soon as they called us back and said, 'Okay, NOW we’re ready to go. Are you going to do the tour?' We said, 'Well no. We’ve already got Australia booked', and then they went on Sirius radio and said some extremely negative things about me and so now, if I ever see that fucking singer [Cronos], I don’t care if he’s a legend, I’m going to fucking grab him by the throat and teach him what responsibility is all about. You can put that in press. I hope it’s everywhere right now because I owe that motherfucker a lashing. He’s nothing but an old man that should have never said shit about DevilDriver because we waited. We put off TWO tours to tour with those guys and they kept putting their stuff back and putting their shit back because ticket sales weren’t selling. They were saying that their Visas were being revoked and when they finally got some ticket sales going and some marketing happening, that’s when they called us back for the tour and we already had plans. Then he said REALLY negative shit about me and my band, so fuck that dude! I don’t care what a legend he is or thinks he is but when I see him, I’m fucking going to confront him physically."
Q: That’s really shitty, too. I mean not just on a professional level but on a personal level being, like you say, they were heroes of yours…
A: "Shitty dude!!! I’m wearing a Venom shirt right now while we’re talking. Right now! And now I think everybody that just says they like Venom just wants to be fucking cool because the guy’s a dickhead and I’ve only seen like two of those in twelve years, I swear to god. Everybody I’ve ever run into from, like we said, from Mustaine to [Philip] Anselmo and to Ozzy have all been the most down to earth, cool guys. But that dude should have never fucking opened his mouth against me and my band. DevilDriver will take that band apart and he should just go…. go fucking get a job at Wal-Mart because he’s done."

More Details On Retro Grave's Trouble Re-make
Jeff "Oly" Olson (TROUBLE, RETRO GRAVE) has tapped Vincent Wojno (TROUBLE, MACHINE HEAD, KREATOR, TESTAMENT) to produce and engineer the first two RETRO GRAVE albums. The debut CD, now simply titled "Run", is a re-arrangement of TROUBLE's "Run to the Light" (originally issued in 1987 via Metal Blade). Special guests on the "Run" album include former TROUBLE bassist Ron Holzner; members of RISE TO ADDICTION, TROUBLE and NOVEMBERS DOOM; Kyle Thomas (ALABAMA THUDERPUSSY, EXHORDER, FLOODGATE); Leif Edling (CANDLEMASS); Sammy Duet (GOATWHORE, ACID BATH); and up-and-coming guitarist Mike "Rebeard" Schermuly.
"Run" is currently being recorded for an early 2008 release. A record deal is being nogotiated, the details of which will be announced in the very near future.
Kyle Thomas briefly fronted TROUBLE in 1999 and is "a welcome addition to the 'Run' album," says Olson. "All of my guests are very talented musicians that I'm psyched to work with, especially my new friends from the UK, RISE TO ADDICTION [who toured with TROUBLE in Europe earlier this year]. These guys are hard-working and extremely talented group of guys, as [is] my new permanent guitarist, Mike 'Redbeard' Schermuly from Portland, Maine."

Inner Dam Discography Announced
Bombthesystem!'s second release will be the official Inner Dam 'Discography.' For those who not familiar, Inner Dam was one of Orange County, NY's first hardcore-metal bands. Alongside the likes of All Out War, Beneath The Remains, Drowning Room and Eye2Eye, Inner Dam was instrumental in the formation and foundation of the OCNYHC scene. As singer John Vista puts it, "We began in the fall of 1995 as a four piece band in love with mid-90's metal-core. Our wish was to be the first 'E' chord chug band from our area. We succeeded and our dream came true."
Originally compared to the likes of Chokehold, Earth Crisis, Damnation A.D. and Undertow, throughout the years they solidified their sound with a heavily influenced mix of The Cro-Mags, Burn, Unbroken and 108. After touring Europe in 99, Inner Dam was put to rest. Resurfacing twice in 2005, and one "final" time this past summer. This release will serve as the final nail in putting Inner Dam to rest. Although no longer active, they will never be forgotten.
This release will include "The Day Everything Meant Nothing" and "When Angels Fall" EPs, as well as "The Last Second Of Forever" 7" - all originally released on Belgium's Released Power Production in the mid-to-late 90's. This is all still very much in the early stages, but expect this sometime before the end of the year. In the meantime, check out the official Inner Dam MySpace page here.
Courtney Love Settles Final Nirvana Lawsuit
The Pulse of Radio reports: Courtney Love settled a lawsuit brought against her by the attorneys who represented her in her own legal battle with the surviving members of NIRVANA, according to Seattle Weekly. Katherine Hendricks and O. Yale Lewis claimed that Love owed them more than $340,000, plus interest, for their work on a 2002 suit that Love filed against NIRVANA bassist Krist Novoselic and drummer Dave Grohl. Love, who controlled the share of NIRVANA's business that had belonged to her late husband, NIRVANA frontman Kurt Cobain, allegedly did not fully pay her lawyers even though she eventually earned at least $9 million as a result of that suit.
Love settled with Hendricks and Lewis for an undisclosed sum. The settlement was effective as of Monday, September 17. The case was scheduled to go to trial on Wednesday, September 19.
According to court records, Love had paid the Seattle-based attorneys more than one million dollars in the NIRVANA suit, but still owed them $341,000 plus as much as $200,000 in interest.
Love sued Grohl, Novoselic and Universal Music over the release plans for a previously unavailable NIRVANA track called "You Know You're Right", as well as overall control of the band's catalog.
The NIRVANA settlement yielded a box set and greatest hits package, while Love earned $4 million from the deal and another $5 million in publishing royalties.
Nevertheless, she sold a 25 percent stake in her portion of the NIRVANA catalog in 2006 for a rumored $50 million, following several years in which she was tangled in other financial problems, drug arrests and rehab stints.
Megadeth Ready Their "Warchest"
This October Megadeth will be re-educating the metal masses with the release of their box set Warchest. Dave Mustaine and EMI have collaborated to create the ultimate Megadeth 4 CD/DVD box set that includes over six hours of metal mastery. Armed with digitally re-mastered career-defining album cuts, soundtrack and compilation sides, unreleased live and studio performances and interview clips spanning more than 20 years, Warchest is the ultimate Megadeth compendium. Included are a full 75-minute live set from a night on the 1990 “Clash of the Titans” tour and a DVD of highlights from a 1992 stop supporting Countdown – two historical shows, both making their release debuts on Warchest. “This is, by far, the best and most comprehensive look at all-things-Mega if you had to get a crash-course in metal……I absolutely love every moment of this collection,” says Mustaine.
