Century Announces New Line-up

Century has an issued update regarding their new line-up and new album:

"Our new line up is complete. Please welcome back the incomparable Mr. Mikey G. For those who don't know, Mike has been Century's guitar player since the beginning of the band and he just recently decided to rejoin after our year-long hiatus, now filling out the bass position. I'm pretty sure I speak for everyone else in the band when I say that I'm incredibly stoked to have him back. Century v3.0's official line up is as follows:

Matthew Smith: drums
George Fava: guitar
Jason Baker: guitar
Mike Giuliano: bass
Carson Slovak: vocals

Thank you to all of the sweet brosephs that got in touch regarding try outs. I'm sorry we never made it that far, but hopefully you dudes can understand that Mike filling the final spot in the band was a no-brainer for us.

In other news, Black Ocean is nearing completion. We will be working with producer and long time friend/mentor Chad Taylor this month on all things vocal. The goal this time around is to create a super-raw, intense vibe, something that Faith and Failure lacked in favor of cleaner production. I am looking forward to experimenting with different ranges and intensities and having members of the band contribute vocals as well. Think Until Your Heart Stops meets Jane Doe, production-wise. No label has been decided upon for the release as of this writing.

We have already started setting up a few shows, which will be posted shortly. As the tentative release for Black Ocean is set for December, we will be organizing a very special record release show. More details on that to follow."

Ebony Ark Signs With Ascendance Records

Ascendance Records, the new label funded by Lee Barrett (founder of Candlelight Records; former member of EXTREME NOISE TERROR, currently in TO-MERA) and A&R'd by Sam Grant (writer, promoter, broadcaster, interviewer for Sonic Cathedral online), has announced the signing of the Madrid, Spain based, female-fronted gothic/progressive metal act EBONY ARK. The group's new album is tentatively scheduled for release in early 2008.

EBONY ARK's first concert outside Spain took place on May 4, 2006, supporting the Dutch band EPICA at Amsterdam's infamous Paradiso venue. In May of that year they started recording the "Decoder 2.0" CD (a revamped version of their 2004 debut, "Decoder") for their new label Transmission Records. Unfortunately Transmission Records went bankrupt before the album could be released and the LP never saw the light of day.

Scum Of The Earth Post New Video Online

SCUM OF THE EARTH, the band featuring former longtime ROB ZOMBIE guitarist Riggs, has completed filming the music video for its first single from the upcoming "Sleaze Freak" album, entitled "Bombshell from Hell". The clip, which was produced and directed by Ron Najor of The Buzz, can be viewed below.

SCUM OF THE EARTH'd first studio album of all-new material since the critically-acclaimed debut "Blah…Blah…Blah…Love Songs For The New Millennium" (2004), "Sleaze Freak" will contain 13 brand new songs described by Riggs as "heavy-as-hell grinding, stripper-rock." "It's a much more intense collection of material than 'Blah…Blah…Blah…'" said Riggs. "We did everything we wanted to do this time around, which allowed us to really embody the whole red-light-district sleazy vibe into the material."

"Sleaze Freak" is scheduled to be released nationwide at retail stores throughout the U.S. on October 23, 2007. The explicit (PA) version of the album will be available at most retailers containing an added DVD video. The DVD will consist of footage filmed while recording and mixing the album documenting the recording and mixing process and many hijinks of the band around town, in the studio, and on the road. There will also be a clean version for those accounts who are afraid of scary comic-monsters, offensive language, etc.

"Sleaze Freak" track listing:

01. Bombshell from Hell
02. Hate X 13
03. Sleaze Freak
04. Devilscum
05. Death Stomp
06. I Am Monster
07. Love Pig
08. Macabro Expectaculo
09. Corpse Grinders
10. The Devil Made Me Do It 2
11. Scum-O-Rama

Thor Reveal New Album Details

THOR is ready to shake the very halls of Valhalla itself from the stage of Vnuks in Milwaukee, WI, on Oct. 5. Joining Thor will be CARBELLION and another band TBA. Then, Thor thunders into The Beat Kitchen in Chicago, IL, on Oct. 6. Joining Thor will be I LOVE THE RICH.

"Into The Noise is basically a concept album where the band goes on a journey to the center of the mind, of noise,” said Thor. “They come across all these alternate characters and creatures like The Sound King. It’s a quest. Like in the song ‘Back For More’, it’s about coming back to rise up again and do battle again. Sometimes you have to retreat when you get overwhelmed or defeated, but then you regain your strength and go back in. So we’re heading back Into the Noise.”

The new songs are already getting very positive responses as the band has been playing cuts from the album onstage.

This album will be a digital and CD release through SDR Records. Joe Keithley, famous leader of the band DOA, is the president of the label and is very excited about the new recording saying, “It’s Thor’s best yet!”

In Chicago, 3 veterans from the Chicago rock scene are joining Thor for the midwest leg of his tour: Dave Stepanich (guitar), Phil Vickman (bass), and Brian Grady (drums). As a special bonus, legendary Chicago axeman Steve Gerlach (MOST DANGEROUS RACE, TOMMY KEENE, MYSTERY DRIVER, PHANTOM HELMSMEN, THE BAD EXAMPLES, CANE CORSO, TUFFY UK) will join the band for the October 6th show at Beat Kitchen..

Thor also will continue to promote the albums Devastation Of Musculation, Thor Against The World and the DVD retrospective An-thor-logy released by Smog Veil Records. Thor has long been a champion of environmental causes, before the industry as a whole jumped on the bandwagon with events such as the Live Earth series of concerts. Thor is very proud to be associated with Smog Veil – the label is currently converting to an all-Green, environmentally friendly office for its HQ.

Track listing for Into The Noise includes: 'Warrior's Reprise', 'Into The Noise', 'Evil Twin', 'No Guts, No Glory', 'Escape Or Die', 'Fight For You', 'Sound King', 'If Tomorrow Never Comes', 'Forever & After', 'Back For More'.

“The song 'Forever & After', is from a movie that’s been in the works for a long time,” Thor shared. “I wrote the song back in 2002. It’s an acoustic number – you hear THOR sing acoustically which I don’t usually do. It’s for a movie coming out called ‘Forever & After’. It’s a sci-fi movie.”
