California hardcore/metal/etc. band The Warriors has officially signed with Victory Records. The group will enter the studio this winter to record their Victory debut, slated for a May 29, 2007 release. The following statement has been issued by The Warriors:
"At one point or another, everyone has had a friend who has pulled you out of a dark place; Someone who has believed and cared enough to provide you with new hope and encouragement. For us, Victory Records is that friend. Victory has released the most progressive and influential hardcore bands for nearly 2 decades (This FACT is undeniable), and we’re more than honored to carry the torch. Will this change the content of our records, musically or visually? Absolutely not. We are now and ever shall be dedicated to creating music that is both honest, progressive and most importantly “Hardcore”, as we have come to define it for ourselves. Our love and dedication for what we do will only be amplified by this new friendship. So from Cause For Alarm, Warzone, Snapcase to Comeback Kid, the Victory hardcore legacy continues. Our friends at Eulogy Recordings will forever remain friends. We will never forget their efforts and generosity. Eulogy gave us life, now Victory will ensure our survival as a band. From this point on any future Warriors records will proudly bare the mark of the Bull Dog. Above all we would like to thank anyone who has invested even an ounce of support for our band in the past 5 years."

Vital Remains Kicked Off Of Opening Show
Scheduled to kick off their East Coast tour tomorrow, Sept. 30, in Bedford, NH with Dismember, Grave, Demiricous and Withered, Vital Remains was notified yesterday that they were not welcome to perform at the first show. Vital’s guitarist, Tony Lazaro states, “We were scheduled to play with Grave and Dismember up at Mark’s Place in Bedford, NH but the promoter booted us from the show. He said since we are ‘affiliated’ with the ‘evil’ Glen Benton that he wanted nothing to do with us. I guess he had heard what happened at the Deicide show in TX, heard he sang for us on our last record and is gonna sing for us on this next one and was worried that, I don’t know, we’d be sacrificing children of something. We told him that Glen wasn’t even going to be on this tour with us. I think he’s sitting home in FL right now ready to go out on the road with Deicide. The guy didn’t even care. We are guilty by association! We’re sorry to anyone up there who was planning on seeing us. We’ll try and get up there soon, we just need to find a promoter who isn’t afraid of us, and by the way, everyone knows we sacrifice goats on stage, not children. Metal”
Scheduled to record the follow up to 2003’s Dechristianize this winter, Vital Remains has already announced that Glen Benton will be returning to record vocals for the new album. Re-released this spring was the band’s Horrors Of Hell compilation which contains the band’s early demo recordings.

SLIPKNOT will take fans behind the scenes of its unique world with the two-disc DVD set "Voliminal," due Dec. 5 via Roadrunner. The first disc includes a 90-minute documentary directed by M. Shawn Crahan, which sports a different hidden vignette from each of the group's nine members.
The second DVD blends live footage from a variety of venues with music videos for tracks like "Vermillion," "The Nameless" and "Duality," along with interviews with the band.
Guitarist Mick Thomson previously told Billboard.com his favorite candid moment on the DVD involves an overzealous fan at a European show. "A fan, I think in Austria, was drunk and out of line," he said. "He kept trying to come up on the bus, kept bothering people and then started to get a little bit loud and threatening. He had to be set down on his ass by someone close to us. Sometimes you've got to be put in your place, and he was put in his place."
SLIPKNOT has been on sabbatical for more than a year to allow members to work on other projects. Singer Corey Taylor's band, STONE SOUR, debuted at No. 4 on The Billboard 200 in August with its latest album, "Come What(ever) May."
