Incantation Mainman Checks In
INCANTATION mainman John McEntee has issued the following update:
"Well the first leg of our two month European has come to a end. For sure The Northern Assassin Tour was a great success! I was told before we left that the Scandinavian scene wasn't too strong. Well, i can't speak for other tours, but for us it was great. We had a excellent turn out every night. There were a lot of cool, old school death metal fans at all the gigs. We also got to hang out with some friends from GRAVE, NOMINON, IMMERSED IN BLOOD, ROTTEN SOUND, BEHERIT, DEMIGOD, DEMILICH and many more. It was a honor to be apart of such a kick ass tour, everyone has been great the bands, crew, clubs employees and all the die hard death metal supports! My new Mockingbird Special X has sounding great every night, it stays in tune great even with my low c tuning. What is also killer is that even as hard as I am on the guitar i haven't broke any strings yet. We are now getting ready to conquer Russia on the flaming arts festivals. I'm sure it will be a great experience. I want to thank Massive Music for this great opportunity. I also want to thank Craig and Reyash for doing such a great job every night, it's a honor to perform with such great guys and amazing musicians." More...

3 Mile Scream Announce Tour Dates, New Video
3 Mile Scream have announced their new headlining tour dates in support of their Corporate Punishment debut, "A Prelude To Our Demise." The band will be touring throughout Canada in October and November.
3 Mile Scream is currently putting the finishing touches on their sophomore album, which is due for release in early 2008. The album was produced by Cryptopsy guitarist Christian Donaldson, who recently produced The Agonist's Century Media debut.
"The new album is more melodic while still remaining within the initial vein of our previous record," says 3 Mile Scream frontman Matt McGachy. "We decided to make the clean parts as beautiful as possible while keeping the brutal parts as brutal as possible."
The band has posted their Chad Archibald (Arise and Ruin) directed video for the track "Our Blackened Sun" on YouTube.
3 Mile Scream's debut album, which was produced by Jean-Francois Dagenais, of Kataklysm, has prompted a plethora of critical acclaim from critics and fans, including Lamb of God's Randy Blythe who described the band as "Artfully orchestrated brutality", while Decibel Magazine said, "This quintet is akin to a more energetic God Forbid, with staccato riffs and languid melodies giving way to machine-gun breakdowns at almost every turn."

Within Temptation To Write New Music In November
Jeff Maki and Jason Price of Live-Metal.net recently conducted an interview with WITHIN TEMPTATION vocalist Sharon den Adel. A few excerpts from the interview follow:
Live-Metal.net: When you are performing songs on stage does it take you back to when and where you wrote the lyrics? Or at this point in time, having played them repeatedly, is it merely performing the songs?
Sharon: Well, eventually it becomes more performing the songs, but you have certain times when it's better not to always know when to go back to the time you were writing it. Sometimes it's very emotional and if you have that emotional kind of thing, it's sometimes good. It will always be emotional because you will always have emotions attached to it. You have emotions and emotion, of course — heavy emotion. Certain painful memories or beautiful memories. It's like through time, like scars they fade a little bit. So I think on stage sometimes when you are having a certain day, it might come back very heavily. It might be better not to play the song. But most of the times it's just playing the songs and enjoying it. It's also releasing and getting rid of certain negative emotions.
Live-Metal.net: Your lyrics seem pretty personal to me. Are there any songs you just don't want to play live because it does bring you back to those emotions?
Sharon: Yeah, of course, but it's ... "Forgiven" is maybe one of those songs, but I could play them and keep my tears inside. You can restrain it, of course. It depends on the day. Sometimes it's the day when “it” happened like four years ago, so it's better not to play the song because you're gonna be reminded and not be too happy, so yeah, sometimes it's like that.
Live-Metal.net: What's next for you after this tour?
Sharon: Well, we got a lot of shows in Europe. We are going to play on England in the academies, which are lots of nice venues to play in. So we're gonna play there like four or five shows and then we go to Germany. We do a tour in Germany and we have a few big shows, as well. Then in Holland, we do an arena with a real orchestra in February, a classical orchestra. And we're gonna play all our songs with a classical orchestra. Also in November, we're gonna play for 8,000 people in Eindoven, which is also in Holland and we're gonna play this java kind of big show with all kinds of things happening. So they're will be a lot of things, then come back here again.
Live-Metal.net: So you're coming back here soon?
Sharon: I hope so, because we just met our booking agency yesterday and they were like, "Please come back soon again." And we were like, "Yeah, yeah, yeah, but when?" So we're gonna see. So hopefully we will again. It will be on short notice — that's how it works probably in America, I don't know. It goes differently in Europe. They have ticket sales in Europe and it's like six months ahead of when you're really going to play. And America it's like — we announced this tour a month ago. And we're like, "Nobody's gonna come. Nobody's gonna know. How can I do this?" But there like that's normal in America — "OK, right."
Live-Metal.net: You mentioned playing with the orchestra. How will that transition? How will that work?
Sharon: It's gonna be different, but not that much different because we have an orchestra on tape, because we can't bring the orchestra to events and stuff like that. They're gonna play more or less the real thing, but of course it will be more organic. The sounds are gonna be different, but it's gonna be live. And we'll probably make a little bit different arrangements here and there. It's not the same orchestra we recorded with and we're gonna do some different things also to make it more special, try some things out. Also to give them some more space for their own interpretation.
Live-Metal.net: Could that be released as a live album like what the SCORPIONS or METALLICA did?
Sharon: I'm not sure. It depends on how it works out. And like I said, we're gonna give them some freedom for their own interpretation and if some songs don't work out then we're gonna skip the song probably. [laughter] But we're not sure how things will work out. But it's not the first time working with a real orchestra. We have done it before in Europe. But to do a whole show with a real orchestra, it is our first time, so it depends on how it's going to look and how it is recorded. We're gonna film everything, of course.
Live-Metal.net: Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Sharon: Well, we start writing again in December probably. That's the first time we have days off again, so we'll probably start writing new songs again. We'll see where we are and how fast we can write a new album. I want to write a new album very quickly. But sometimes when you're touring there is no time or no space to sit down and relax and try some things.

Original Sepultura Guitarist Joins Band Onstage
SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser checks in with the following update:
"Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Thursday I played in Sao Paulo, in a small music bar called AO Vivo Groove Bar, with Daniel La Torre (Hammond) and Vasco Fae (Drums, Vocals and Harmonica).
Joao Gordo (R.D.P Singer, VJ MTV Brazil) was there too and we did a blues version of an old Brazilian song very known by all. It was great jamming.
On Friday, at the same stage, I was invited by Marina De La Riva to play at her show. She also sang a song at my show, we did 'Since I've Been Loving You' from LED ZEPPELIN. A Spectacular voice, soft, full of feelings and emotions, performing the song in a unique way. Wonderful! At her gig I did a Cuban song called 'Juramento', where I played a guitar lead. Gracias por todo De La Riva!
After that I went to Belo Horizonte to jam with Sepultura. It was the best show we did in BH. I think it was the first time we actually played songs from every album. The high point on the set was when we called Jairo Guedz (TORMENTOR), first Sepultura guitar player (1984-1987), to play two songs with us, songs that he was a writer too. 'Necromancer' from Bestial Devastation and 'Troops Of Doom' from Morbid Visions.
The crowd went mad, they were singing and screaming, enjoying every minute of it. I dedicated the show to Joao Dollabella, second child from Jean who was born on September 21st. Great vibes with all Jean's parents and relatives around together with our old friends. Unforgettable! Thanks a lot to all in Belo Horizonte for this great night!"
The setlist for Sepultura's September 22nd date in Belo Horizonte was as follows: 'Dark Wood Of Error', 'Refuse/Resist', 'Convicted In Life', 'False', 'Dead Embrionic Cells', 'Sepulnation', 'Ostia', 'Crown & Mitter', 'Desperate Cry/Escape To The Void', 'Spit', 'Boycott', 'Buried Words', 'Bullet The Blue Sky', 'Orgasmatron/Inner Self', 'Beneath The Remains', 'Slave New World', 'Territory', 'Arise', 'Kayowas', 'Biotech Is Godzilla', 'Troops Of Doom', 'Necromancer', 'Come Back Alive', 'Roots Bloody Roots'.

Everyone in Orange Goblin would like to apologise to the Greek fans and hope that we can arrange something at a later date to make up for it.
The band would like to thank all the fans that came out to help make the European Plague Invasion tour so successful. The band had a great time and look forward to seeing everyone on the road again soon. Also, a massive thanks must go out to our new brothers in ASTROSONIQ for all their help and friendship that made the tour such a blast.
The venue for the Orange Goblin show on Friday, November 9th, The Attic in Rushden, is closing down! Therefore the promoters are moving the show to an alternative venue in nearby Northampton. We will let you know the name of the venue as soon as it is confirmed!"
