Aeturnus Dominion Issues Update on Band Lineup

Australian metal band, Aeturnus Dominion has issued the following update regarding their vocalist situation:

"AD has been extremely quiet the last few months due to injuries and other unforeseen circumstances, which forced them to withdraw from gigs and take time off from rehearsals. The band are once again back in at it and about to prepare for the Samhain Hollows gig in late October at the Sando. The band have also opted for a more traditional style vocalist and do have a new front man lined up. He was due to audition prior to the forced hiatus and will now get the chance to cement his spot in the band. While traditional vocals will be the prime basis both death and black metal vocals will also be present with Ted and Tait adding their aggressive edge to the onslaught."

"Ted will still be in a below the knee cast for another month, but at least the band can get back on track now."

Avenged Sevenfold Prepares To Write New Album

Avenged Sevenfold has issued the following update about preparing to write a new album:

"Hello everyone -

"I realize that with the last record we stayed away from personally updating you guys with loads of information about how we were doing and about how the tours were going. We stayed away from doing too many interviews, radio and T.V. spots, trying not to overexpose ourselves. Not seeing ourselves everywhere and hearing about stupid shit we've said has generally made us happier people, much unlike the ‘City of Evil’ record cycle. But I feel in doing so we have stopped communicating with the people that truly care about this band, the fans. So I'm gonna try to make these updates a little more frequently.

"First I wanna say we had a great time touring this record. From the first tour in clubs, to headlining ‘Taste of Chaos’, to going out with Iron Maiden in Europe, to finishing it up with Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Burn Halo, Shinedown, Saving Abel and Rev Theory. We've made some great new friends and just had a great time playing to you guys every night. Rock on the Range and opening for Metallica in Mexico City were just added bonuses. We are gonna start rehearsing here in a couple days to get ready for Sonisphere over in the U.K and Ireland. We are looking forward to that. More...

Power Quest Cancels Prog Power USA Appearance

Power Quest has announced that due to a visa application rejection they will be unable to attend the Prog Power USA festival. The band issued the following statement about the cancellation:

"Hey guys

"From a Power Quest perspective we are absolutely gutted that we won't be able to come over for PPUSA. We've been looking forward to this for the best part of a year and it was going to be the highlight of 2009 for us. Having spoken at great length with Glenn, there was absolutely nothing that could be done once we heard the decision that had been made.

"I'm so sorry for the fans who had contacted us saying how much they were looking forward to finally seeing us on US soil.....and then this happens!!! Hopefully we can come over in the future and be a bit more fortunate when it comes to whoever reviews our visa applications. We had booked flights as well so the band will take a loss of around £1500 on that alone......

"Glenn has done a great job in sorting out the roster at such short notice.......I'm sure you will all have a fantastic time as always at PPUSA. I'm just sorry that we won't be able to be there and share it with you."

Sybreed Announces Tour Delays

Swiss metallers Sybreed have issued the following announcement about having to delay their upcoming tour dates due to visa issues:

"Dear all, This one won’t be a good one.

"Unfortunately, even if being on the starting block for the tour in the US, it seems that we are now facing problems with the issuance of the necessary P-1 visa that would allow us to perform on the American soil, and won’t be able to start the tour on the 16th of July. Even if we applied for our visa as soon as we knew we would be part of the Threat Signal’s tour, our requests still need some additional administrative processing. In consequence, we can but wait to have our passport back with the precious document and thus be able to join the tour in the shortest delays.

"So, let’s all light a candle & and prey whatever divinity you believe in (The Old Guy Upstairs, The One Living in the Basement, Oprah …) to help us joining the tour as fast as possible."

After playing with Steve and Mike for two weeks we could only come to the conclusion that they are exactly what we were looking for. Steve surprised us all with his abilities to cover a wide range of extreme vocals, from the gothenburg sound, to black metal and brutal death metal. Mike has the right attitude, and although he has not played in a band before, is willing to work hard for his place in the band. Steve will sing on the new record; we feel everyone will be astonished with what he can do on the mic. Let it be known that we are back with a fresh outlook on things; we will be playing shows again with the release of the new CD, and hopefully soon we will have a new myspace layout. Guns N Roses Uploader Kevin Cogill Sentenced

As was previously reported, Los Angeles resident Kevin Cogill was arrested and pled guilty for uploading pre-release tracks from the Guns N Roses album "Chinese Democracy." GNR Daily has issued the following report about Cogill's sentencing:

A Los Angeles man who pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of uploading pre-release Guns N’ Roses tracks was handed one year probation and two months’ home confinement Tuesday after agreeing to cooperate with the Recording Industry Association of America to produce an anti-piracy message.

Kevin Cogill was arrested last summer at gunpoint and charged with uploading nine tracks of the Chinese Democracy album to his music site — antiquiet.com. The album, which cost millions and took 17 years to complete, was released in November and reached No. 3 in the charts.

Cogill faced a maximum of a year in prison. The authorities, however, originally were demanding six months, claiming the amount of infringement equaled $371,000. The higher the number, the longer the potential prison term.

According to court documents, after Cogill agreed to help produce an anti-piracy public service address with the RIAA, the government withdrew the $371,000 figure and agreed not to fine him. Los Angeles federal authorities in March said the figure was a “reasonable estimate” that gave the defendant the “benefit of the doubt.” The calculations, the government said, were based on each downloaded Guns N’ Roses track being worth 99 cents on iTunes.

As part of the 28-year-old Cogill’s guilty plea in December, he informed the authorities that he received the music online and unsolicited — a confession prosecutors said might pave the way for more “targets” to be prosecuted.
