Machine Head Update
I haven't got any info on Machine Head lately, and I found out that's probably because they don't have a US label since Roadrunner dropped them. I had barely noticed since I'd more or less written them off after their lackluster Supercharger. Last I heard is that Arhue Luster had left the band and I had a fleeting hope that it may give them a chance to return to a heavier style, but I wasn't holding my breath..
But surfing around today I read that they have a new album out in Europe called Through The Ashes Of Empires, which is getting rave reviews (despite a thrashing by Kerrang! UK) and is being called a return to form (of Burn My Eyes). The bits of music in their videos on their official site do sound pretty good. Since they have no US record deal, there is no release date on the horizon.
Check the Machine Head message boards for what people are saying about ways to get the album in the US. (I'll be tapping my Slovak connection - that's where my wife's from - to send it over!)
Help Shape Ozzfest (Survey)
Here is your chance to help mold Ozzfest to be the best experience of your life. Check out this Ozzfest survey and answer a few questions to help gear Ozzfest specifically towards your desires.
While I think this is great in principle, I think it'll only disappoint those of us hoping for more real metal. Still, if you've got a second, make yourself heard!
Remembering Never Announce Sophomore Album
South Florida's REMEMBERING NEVER have announced that their sophomore album will be released on Ferret Music January 27th. Entitled "Women And Children Die First," the effort was recorded by Jeremy Staska and will feature an incredible design courtesy of Asterik Studios (known for recent work with Poison The Well, Zao, Norma Jean, and more). From all indications, the record will show that REMEMBERING NEVER still have a few amazing tricks up their sleeves.

Indianola Signs The Prisoner's Dilemma
Indianola Records has announced the signing of Long Beach, CA's THE PRISONERS DILEMMA. With comparisons made to the likes of Thrice, Thursday, Hopesfall, and Taking Back Sunday, THE PRISONERS DILEMMA are sure to be one of Indianola's most widely accessable bands to date. Their as-of-yet untitled debut for Indianola Records has been tentatively scheduled for a Spring 2004 release.
Zao Returns On Ferret Records With Full Lineup
ZAO have returned with their full lineup, fronted by their only new addition, Josh Ashworth (formerly of Society's Finest). ZAO has been touring extensively throughout the U.S. recently and will continue to do so.
Their Ferret debut, an album entitled "Burn Beautiful," will be recorded March 2004 and will see life Summer 2004. A producer for the effort is being confirmed now.
