Ancient Ceremony Sued by Catholic Church

The ridiculous battle between the Holy Inquisition and "Germany's most Satanic metal act" Ancient Ceremony has taken a new twist. After they were banned from performing at the Summer Breeze festival this past summer due to the "blasphemous" nature of their concept and lyrics, Ancient Ceremony's founder/vocalist Chris Anderle has received a letter from the legal representatives of the Catholic church threatening to file a lawsuit against him for expressing his disdain for the church via a series of photos posted on the band's web site. The church's lawyers are demanding that Anderle either remove the offending pictures from the site or pay a fine of 10,000 euros. The group's legal representative is currently studying the matter.

The original letter sent by the church's lawyers (in German) can be viewed here: Page#1, Page#2, Page#3.
