Body Count Set 'Murder For Hire' As New Album
BODY COUNT, the rock group led by rapper and actor Ice-T, have set "Murder For Hire" as the title for their first album in seven years, tentatively due in early 2004.The band, whose previous drummer Beatmaster V died of leukemia and bassist Mooseman was killed in a drive-by shooting in South Central Los Angeles, have been inactive since the release of 1997's "Violent Demise: Last Days".BODY COUNT were the focus of national media attention with their controversial song "Cop Killer", which was included on the group's self-titled debut in 1991.
Dismember Release Date For New Album
Long-running Swedish death metallers Dismember have set a March 8 release date through Holland's Karmageddon Media (formerly Hammerheart Records) for their new album, "Where Ironcrosses Grow".
The follow-up to 2000's "Hate Campaign" was recorded at Stockholm's Sami studio and will feature artwork by acclaimed artist Dan Seagrave (Entombed, Suffocation, Morbid Angel). Among the cuts set to appear on the effort are "Tragedy Of The Faithful", "Sword Of Light", "Where Ironcrosses Grow", "Chasing The Serpent", and "Me-God".
As previously reported, Dismember's upcoming double DVD, now re-titled "Live Blasphemies", is due on January 26, 2004 through Escapi. The first disc will contain the group's live performance from May 27, 2003 at Klubben in Stockholm, while the second disc will feature a 90-minute documentary/home video spanning the group's entire career. Former Pantera/current DAMAGEPLAN guitarist Dimebag Darrell will be holding an autograph signing exclusively at two Sam Ash Music locations.

Dimebag's appearances at Sam Ash are being sponsored by Dunlop, the maker of the world famous Cry-Baby wah pedal and the innovator behind the revolutionary Dimebag "Cry-Baby from Hell" Wah Pedal and the Dime Distortion Pedal.
DAMAGEPLAN's debut album, "New Found Power", is scheduled for release on February 10 through Elektra Records.
Judas Priest Drummer Confirms Signing Session
Sam Ash Music will be celebrating 30 years on 48th Street's famed Music Row with a gala promotion to be held at the New York City store on November 22, 2003. There will be seminars, clinics, giveaways, etc. Confirmed for SIGNING (not clinics) are Scott Travis (Judas Priest, Fight, Racer X) and Jerry Only (Misfits).
