Leaves' Eyes Reports On Film Shoot In Norway
Liv Kristine and Alex Krull just returned from a Leaves' Eyes film shooting in Norway. Liv commented: "We travelled with our crew along the incredibly interesting and breath-taking west coast of Norway. Our journey started in Stavanger, my hometown. We filmed in sunny and rainy weather, which really shows the harsh climate of this region. We went through the fjords by boat and spent hours at the North Sea catching waves. We drove through the mountains, visited the old town of Stavanger, moreover, we did a lot of interviews, also with my family members. Most of the material will be presented on our up-coming DVD, however, it was also very important to gather nature shots for our special show at the Metal Female Voices Fest in Wieze, Belgium 20 October 2007. We would like the audience to see that we are very close to nature and that Norway is part of Leaves' Eyes. A warm thank you to hard-working Stefan Liebhauser (The Day After) and Gunnar Sauermann (Metal Hammer) who did a fantastic job, fixing this visually."
:eaves' Eyes has announced only a few more shows this year, with major touring (of the US) next year with King Diamond, Kreator and Cellador. The latest Leaves' Eyes tour dates follow: More...

Light This City Give Touring Update
Currently out on the road, Bay Area thrashers LIGHT THIS CITY have teamed up with Papertiger Webzine to keep fans up to date from the road in the form a a tour journal, penned by LIGHT THIS CITY vocalist Laura Nichol. The second addition of the tour journal is available directly here, and a few excerpts are below:
"Hey kiddos! Right now you should be jealous... Be very jealous, for I am writing from the backstage of the House of Blues in Downtown Disneyland. Fucking score, right?! At first, we thought this show might be cancelled because the Disney execs aren't very fond of the idea of metal dudes with long hair and black clothes cruising around the Happiest Place on Earth. But we squeezed at least one more metal show out of 'em. And now the greasy guys with the tattoos walking around, deriving pleasure from scaring little kids, will also be wearing "I eat pussy" t-shirts courtesy of the colorful Edguy merch booth (no, I have not gotten one for myself)."
"Last night we played our hometown of San Francisco, which was equally exciting and nerve-racking. I had been looking forward to this show the entire tour because my mom promised to come out and she hadn't seen us play since our first show at a rec center in Foster City four years ago (I was seventeen… with pink hair). Everything went over amazingly, all of our friends came out, and my mom loved it, her only advice being, 'We want to see your pretty face, so quit covering it with your hair all the time!' Right after our set, I walk her over to our merch table to check out the gruesome t-shirts, and suddenly, she grabs my arm. 'Laura!" she yells loudly, pointing to a tall guy waiting in line, "look at that boy! He's sooo cute, and he's wearing a Light This City shirt!' Of course, everyone waiting in line hears her, and I push her arm down, wondering whether anyone had ever died from mortification, and kind of wishing it was a possibility at that moment. But I guess the night wouldn't have been a complete mom-experience if there weren't some sort of social embarrassment involved."
"Before San Francisco, the drive from Seattle to Portland was pretty interesting. At about one in the morning, I get into the driver's seat and start looking for a place to stop and refuel my stomach for the three-hour drive through the rain. I exit on some random street right outside of the city and pass a Burger King. After a quick look around, I attempt to discreetly pull off an illegal u-turn into the drive thru, but wouldn't you know it; a cop car slows to a stop right in front of me. Certain I am fucked, I finish the turn and glance sheepishly in the sideview mirror. But to my surprise, the cop takes no notice and continues driving slowly down the street. One of my guys jokes that the cops aren't going to care about petty driving offences with all the prostitutes lurking the neighborhood. And sure enough, when we get our food and stop to eat in the dimly lit parking lot, I catch the eye of a woman across the way who resembles a scantily clad zombie wearing too much makeup. She starts toward the van, looking intently at me, and then I guess she realized I was a girl, and probably wasn't looking to trade my delicious cheeseburger for a toothless blowjob, because she turns at the last second and scuttles off to find another customer. Joe laughs, 'Imagine, if you were a dude and we were a scummier group of guys, we'd be gangbanging a hooker right now!' Yes, just imagine…"
LIGHT THIS CITY will be on tour with Edguy, Into Eternity and Echoes of Eternity for a few more shows before returning home. Later this fall, they will join the Death By Decibels Tour alongside Vader, Malevolent Creation, Cattle Decapitation, Abigail Williams and Veil of Maya. The band is continuing to support its latest release, 'Facing The Thousand,' which saw a September 2006 release through Prosthetic.

Terror Post New Song Online
A brand new TERROR track, entitled "Disconnected", is available for streaming on the band's MySpace page. The song comes off the group's upcoming EP, "Rhythm Amongst the Chaos", due on October 30 through Reaper Records. This EP will include four new songs and one definitive cover song with a guest vocal appearance from Vinnie Paz of JEDI MIND TRICKS. Reaper Records will also exclusively release an impressive gatefold layout for the 7" vinyl. The album was recorded at drummer Nick Jett's studio, Blood Tracks, in between two major tours.
TERROR has always been a band known for holding true to their grassroots hardcore ethics. So when indie-hardcore label owner Patrick Kitzel approached the band about releasing a one-off EP through Reaper Records, TERROR jumped at the idea. "Scott and I have been friends for fifteen years and worked together with all of his prior bands," says Kitzel. "When the idea presented itself to do an EP for the love of the cause, it was a quick decision on who would be putting it out!"
Following the release of their new EP, TERROR will be hitting the road with metal heavyweights CHIMAIRA, KATAKLYSM and DIVINE HERESY.

Down Guitarist Criticizes Kanye West
Steve Newton of Straight.com reports: Just before Hurricane Katrina cut a horrifying swath across the U.S. Gulf Coast in August of 2005, the members of metal quintet DOWN had gathered in their hometown of New Orleans to work on new material for their third CD, "Over the Under". Guitarist Pepper Keenan made the smart move of leaving the area before the storm hit, and apart from losing power for a month, his house was all right. But he didn't walk away from the experience unscathed, and neither did his Big Easy bandmates. "It was somethin' we all went through and are still dealing with on a daily basis," he relates, on the line from Reno, Nevada, before the first stop on a 29-date North American tour. "I mean, it was devastating, man. People lost their houses, I lost family members. Half the city was destroyed."
The fortitude of Louisiana natives in the face of Katrina's destruction is cited on "Over the Under" tracks like "On March the Saints," but as Keenan explains, the city is still terribly wounded more than two years after the disaster. And it hasn't gotten much help with reconstruction from the Bush administration. "If they did as much in New Orleans as they're doin' in fuckin' Iraq we'd be fine," blusters Keenan, before decrying Kanye West's assertion that Dubya's disregard for Katrina victims stems from his indifference toward blacks. "I don't care about Kanye West," he counters. "I mean, everybody was damaged in the storm. For Kanye West to make it a black thing was retarded."

Sonic Syndicate Gearing Up For Amon Amarth Tour
Sweden’s hottest newcomers, SONIC SYNDICATE, will be making their US debut with a tour alongside HIMSA, DECAPITATED and fellow countrymen AMON AMARTH this November. Since the release of the band’s second opus, “Only Inhuman,” the band has been taking Europe by storm with many festival appearances and a tour with DARK TRANQUILLITY. Soon after the band finishes their current European tour with SOILWORK and CALIBAN it’s off to the States to wreak even more metal havoc. Lead singer Richard Sjunnesson had this to say about the bands hectic schedule:
“We are excited and really looking forward to finally getting over there to see the American fans. This is SONIC SYNDICATE’s very first tour on American soil and we are very happy to be doing this under the wings of the vile Vikings, AMON AMARTH, who are of course countrymen of ours. I have personally followed them since the early 90s and touring with them makes me happier than words can express. It will of course also be a honor to share the stage with the brilliant metal acts HIMSA and DECAPITATED. See you all soon!”
