Demon Hunter Post Another New Song Online
A new DEMON HUNTER track, entitled "Storm The Gates Of Hell", has been posted online on the group's MySpace page. The song is the title cut of the Seattle-based Christian metallers' fourth album, "Storm the Gates of Hell", due on November 6 via Solid State Records. The CD was produced by Aaron Sprinkle (EMERY, THE ALMOST). Mixing duties were handled by Machine (LAMB OF GOD, WHITE ZOMBIE, ARMOR FOR SLEEP).
DEMON HUNTER vocalist Ryan Clark previously stated about the new CD, "Let me just say that, although every band always says their most recent record is their best, this new record is without a doubt DEMON HUNTER at our very finest and most creative. We've really pushed the boundaries of the music we're used to playing in DEMON HUNTER, and I believe, in metal music in general. It's a very diverse record. I tend to view DEMON HUNTER as a fairly diverse band to begin with, but there is some material on this record that covers some very new ground. I sing in ways I've never sung before. The guitar tones are different than any previous record. There are songs that are far faster and more brutal than we've ever done. Overall, I feel this record will undoubtedly make you all pleasantly surprised." More...
The Scarlet Hourglass Post Update
The following message has been posted via The Scarlet Hourglass'es Myspace:
"Hey guys
Right, after some serious boat-rocking line-up changes we're finally back at full force with a new, improved lineup. We've been lucky enough to acquire the vocal talents of Matty Horrors, who will be familiar to any of you old From The Carnival Of Horrors fans. We've been good friends with Mat for years and we're well excited to bring this familiar face and his talents back to you in the new format. We've also welcomed to the ranks Big G on bass, who also plays in Hardcore monsters truth be told and used to play in Mark My Words. He's an intense bassist, and will bring a new level to our music.
As well as these two, we still have myself and Davey remaining from the original lineup, and we're currently in the process of trying out various second guitarists in order to find the tightest possible replacement for Dayve, which is proving to be a tough job.
We'll still be using the old familiar songs, but they wont be up on our myspace much longer as we intend to hit the studio in the near future to get some new, full-band recordings. We plan to get back on the gigging circuit as of our return show with Anterior on November 24th at Swindon Furnace, so book us for any shows after that!
And once again, listen to the songs cause they aren't gonna be there much longer.
Thanks for reading and for your continued support over TSH.
Daryl, Lead guitar

Exodus' Gary Holt Explains "Exhibit A" Album Title
When asked about the story behind the album title, Gary Holt said, "Why 'Exhibit A', you might ask? Because we already have four songs recorded and finished for the next album, which we will resume recording some time around the end of the year, and this is a two-part record. Part two being exhibit B. So yes, there will be another EXODUS album finished hopefully soon after the release of this one. And when all is said and done, there will never have been anything as brutal and genre-defining done before in thrash metal. An epic monster this one is, and the next is going to take it even further."

DETHKLOK's debut album, "The Dethalbum", sold nearly 34,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at #21 on The Billboard 200 chart. "Metalocalypse" creator Brendon Small had this to say about the initial success of "The Dethalbum": "It feels great to finally be recognized as the serious cartoon musician that I know that I am. I feel vindicated to have surpassed the sales of 'Jem And The Holograms' and 'The Archies'. You have no idea how many cartoon groupies this will get me."
The September 25 release of "Metalocalypse: Dethklok's The Dethalbum" coincided with the start of Season 2 of "Metalocalypse" on Adult Swim and the release of "Metalocalypse: Season 1" on DVD. The DVD, which hit streets on October 2, sold over 18,000 units in its first two days.

Thunder Comment On Sales Of New E.P.
Britain's THUNDER have posted this message on their official website:
"Just by way of a newsflash, the new 'Six Of One' EP is selling like the proverbial hotcakes, and reaction to both the new and live songs is universally fab. As previously mentioned here in these very pages, it's a limited edition release, and once they're gone they're gone, so if you haven't ordered your copy already, you're seriously risking missing out. Don't say you weren't warned...
Just to keep you abreast of the situation, the plans for releases are now formulated for the short and medium term, and I can reveal that there will be not one, but two further EPs (yes that's two). The idea is that the second one will be released in early 08, with similar content and packaging format to Six Of One (i.e. three new + three live songs), with the third making its entrance bundled with the next full-blown studio LP (projected September '08). The third one will be slightly different in terms of audio content and the packaging will house all three EPs, so they'll all fit together in a fab three-CD type package. More than that I am forbidden from saying right now, but it's really exciting around here..."
Ozzy Osbourne To Headline Ozzfest 2008
Gary Graff of Billboard.com reports that Ozzy Osbourne told reporters during a teleconference today (Oct. 8) that he will headline next year's Ozzfest bill — "as far as I know."
Osbourne — who begins an arena tour with ROB ZOMBIE on Oct. 18 in Seattle — told Billboard.com that any BLACK SABBATH plans in 2008, for Ozzfest or separately, are up in the air. "I'm the last person to be told anything," he cracked, but Osbourne noted that he felt if SABBATH was to do anything it would have to be up to a certain standard.
"I'd love to do another BLACK SABBATH album," Osbourne said. "We did try and write together; there are a bunch of things written. But the problem I'm having is it's got to be at least on the same level as when we departed. If it's not, then what's the point in doing it. I'm definitely doing another album, whether with my own band or SABBATH. As long as I'm not doing bullsh*t..."
Deftones Writing New Material
The DEFTONES have issued the following MySpace bulletin:
"On July 28th, DEFTONES wrapped up their 246th show in support of 'Saturday Night Wrist'. Inspired, and wasting no time, the band has immediately returned to 'The Spot' in Sacramento to write their sixth studio album. For the first time, the band has created an official blog to document the writing process. The doorway to the blog is through the sacred hearts on Deftones.com. Check back often to stay connected with DEFTONES as they create the next groundbreaking record in their legacy."
DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno told Billboard.com in May that the quintet had set up a backstage writing room on tour where they were creating new material.
"We're going in there and playing as five of us in the room with just our instruments, no other distractions," he explained. "That's how we started out, basically, when we first started the band — us in the garage, no ProTools or anything to get us ahead of ourselves. We'd just play things over and over again, until we remembered it — that's the rawest way you can do it, and the best, I think."
Chino Moreno's TEAM SLEEP side project is currently working on a new full-length record with no set release date yet. In the meantime, TEAM SLEEP is planning several multimedia Internet releases to be announced in the near future. Fans are encouraged to e-mail any pics and video that they may capture of the band on tour to teamsleepmail@gmail.com for possible use on the band's web site.
TEAM SLEEP will take to the road in November for a string of gigs. Joining them on the trek will be former FROM FIRST TO LAST frontman Sonny Moore, plus rotating openers MONSTER IN THE MACHINE and STRATA. The tour kicks off November 29 in Orangevale, California, and continues through December 16 in San Francisco.
TEAM SLEEP's members include Moreno (vocals, guitar), Zach Hill of HELLA (drums), DJ Crook (turntables), Todd Wilkinson (guitar) and Rick Verrett (bass/keyboards).
On the subject of the upcoming tour, Wilkinson said. "We will be performing songs from the record and some new songs which we're currently working on. Touring with some of the new songs is definitely going to be of help to the writing process."
Scott Ian Retracts Statements About Joe Belladonna
ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian has posted the following message on his MySpace page:
"I wanted to post something here regarding an interview that was recently posted on MTV.com. It was an interview with Jon Wiederhorn about the S.O.D. release Rise Of The Infidels (which I'm actually really digging!!!). After the S.O.D. questions we spoke about Anthrax and the situations with Joey Belladonna, John Bush and Corey Taylor.
I need to clear up my comments regarding Joey. Some of the things I said were of an inflammatory nature and at the time I was not in full possession of the facts. From then til now, all the information has been brought to light and it was unprofessional of me to speak without all the facts and for this I apologize. I know how to admit when I am wrong and I retract what I said about Joey. I consider Joey a friend and I never meant to cause him distress in anyway and I hope we can move forward from this as friends.
Cheers, brother."
The statement comes after Scott Ian criticised Belladonna for not giving a straight answer as to whether or not he would be committed to a new Anthrax album.
