Ozzy Osbourne To Headline Ozzfest 2008

Gary Graff of Billboard.com reports that Ozzy Osbourne told reporters during a teleconference today (Oct. 8) that he will headline next year's Ozzfest bill — "as far as I know."

Osbourne — who begins an arena tour with ROB ZOMBIE on Oct. 18 in Seattle — told Billboard.com that any BLACK SABBATH plans in 2008, for Ozzfest or separately, are up in the air. "I'm the last person to be told anything," he cracked, but Osbourne noted that he felt if SABBATH was to do anything it would have to be up to a certain standard.

"I'd love to do another BLACK SABBATH album," Osbourne said. "We did try and write together; there are a bunch of things written. But the problem I'm having is it's got to be at least on the same level as when we departed. If it's not, then what's the point in doing it. I'm definitely doing another album, whether with my own band or SABBATH. As long as I'm not doing bullsh*t..."

The Swedesh line up, that year was sick. Maybe get the reunited Carcass or At the Gates on 08? I can dream.

Eck, Ozzys last album was so boring, he needs to fire Zakk if he wants his next album to be anything special. Rhoads' corpse would be a better choice. I doubt At The Gates will reunite from what they've said in past interviews, though with all the rip-off metalcore acts of today it'd be good to blast them away with Kingdom Gone.

Now Playing: Confessor - "Last Judgement" (Trouble cover)

Having Nile and Behemoth this year was pretty badass. All the other bands sound like the other bands to play the past few festivals. I wish they'd make Ozzfest with some more death/black metal bands instead of the emo/hardcore that they usually have.

Bodom won't ever do Ozzfest after Unholy Alliance.

ATG could get back together, nothing any of them are doing these days is remarkable. . .The Great Deceiver's new one isn't too bad I suppose.

Carcass though, Wacken and Ozzfest, they could do it.

since we are talking about "dream" line up's and reunited bands that will probably never happen Ill throw in my $0.02.

wouldnt it be fantastic for a reunited Faith No More to co- headline. That'd be cool.

Hot damn, I agree with O-Matron, but Mr. Bungle seems more qualified in the metal field for that sort of thing. That would be sick.
Dying Fetus would be a sick band for Ozzfest. I'd love to see them, In Flames and Dimmu Borgir play.
