Machine Head Postpone Two Italian Shows
MACHINE HEAD were forced to postpone their upcoming shows in Rome and Vicenza (10/25 & 10/26) after their tour bus broke down on their way through the Swiss Alps this weekend. Stranded in Zurich, with no other buses available (due to heavy European touring at the moment) and no other way to transport the band and their equipment to Rome in time, they were forced to wait for repairs to be finished, which looks to be no sooner than this coming Wednesday. MACHINE HEAD are making all efforts to reschedule both shows for a later date.
GOD FORBID and CALIBAN may still be playing both of the scheduled dates - be sure to check with the local venue for up-to-date information.

Lars Wouldn't Change A Thing With 'St. Anger'
The Boston Globe caught up with Lars Ulrich for a Q&A session and asked the drummer about the polarized reaction to their latest effort, 'St. Anger'. "It's not the most easily digested record," Ulrich admitted. "In a time where radio seems to be going conversative again in the last couple of years -- and the Nickelbacks of the world are dominating it -- then when a band like us comes out and does something that's harsh and aggressive, it may be difficult for some people to initially accept it. But I'm glad we did it and I wouldn't change one thing about it... We needed to prove to ourselves that we still had that spunk in us and that we could make that kind of record."

Iron Maiden Singer Visits Mildenhall
A passenger on one of the 100th Air Refueling Wing’s flights Monday afternoon was a commercial airline pilot.
But Bruce Dickinson is better known as the front man for Iron Maiden, one of the most successful and influential heavy metal bands in the business.
“When I was a kid, I had my own air force of plastic aircraft that I built,” Dickinson said before the afternoon flight.
But it was not until 13 years ago that he climbed in the cockpit and flew an airplane.
“When I did, I felt so stupid that I hadn’t done it before,” he said. “The farther from Earth I got, the happier I was.”
It may seem an odd combination of careers. On one hand, Dickinson is the manic singer of a heavy metal rock band. On the other, he is a cool, calm pilot of Boeing 757s for Astraeus, a British charter airline.
He was at Mildenhall to film part of a series he is hosting for the Discovery Channel called “Flying Heavy Metal.” The series will feature classic aircraft, such as the KC-135 Stratotanker. It is due to air on European television next year.
He said it is not so different from being on stage in front of a crowd, where the performance is the external result of the internal process of composing the music.
