Pantheist Finish Recording

Pantheist entered the Lodge studio in Northampton to record the follow-up album to 'O Solitude' earlier this month. The recordings have been succesfully completed, while the mix is taking place the upcoming weekend.

Mark (Esoteric) had this to say regarding the album tunes: "If you liked O Solitude, well, this is really just an all round 'better' album, the songs are more interesting, even if it is in some ways more stripped down."

Tentative release date for the "Amartia" album is February 2005 via Firebox Records.

Metallica Sift Through 50 Hours Of New Music

Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo tells PhillyBurbs.com the band already has a jump start on the next album: More than 50 recorded hours of pre-set jamming, with hundreds of riffs, chord progressions and bass lines to sift through. "It's kind of like you're starting over again," Trujillo said. "It feels like a resurgence, and we'll ride the wave now."

He also was quoted as saying in a phone interview: "If it wouldn't have clicked with us or wouldn't have clicked with someone else, they would have called it a day."

Re-energized Kittie Is Really Cooking

An article about Kittie has been written for Cleveland.com:

There are certain things to expect when one attends a Kittie show. Devil horn-tossing. Crushing doses of heavy metal action. An abundance of black leather and tattoos.

And, at least at one summer show, an impromptu picnic?

"They didn't have any power the last time we arrived here," vocalist-guitarist Morgan Lander explains via phone from a stop in Buffalo, the site of this unplanned shindig. "We made the best of the situation - we went out and bought a bunch of meat and got a grill and had a barbecue.

"All the fans that unfortunately came to the show - but couldn't get to see it because of the power situation - ended up hanging out with us at a barbecue. The beer was free-flowing, and the meat was cooking, and it was a lot of fun."

Subverting expectations is nothing new for the Ontario, Canada-based quartet, which plays along with Otep and Crisis as part of the "Metal Movement Tour" tonight at the Odeon. More...
