Hammerfall Bassist On Tour To Help Others

On October 10, Hammerfall bassist Magnus Rosèn will begin a solo bass tour that will include dates in Sweden, Germany, England and South America. Only one twist — the South American dates are not for personal profit; all money will be donated to homeless children. "I had this idea and worked [on] it for a year now," Magnus said in a press release. "I tried to get a company to support the tour but I couldn't find a company interested in helping so I paid for everything myself. All of the money I make will go to homeless children in the streets, not one dollar will go to me."

Magnus went on to explain, "I tour with Hammerfall every two years for 10 months so I have time for this kind of project." As a matter a fact, the last time Magnus toured South America with Hammerfall, he used all of his earnings to put one woman through school for a year. "I don't think all people needs to do this, but if you have extra time or money and like to help take the chance. It's nice to care. Try!" With the future in mind, Rosèn says he will continue to give up to three weeks every year to help the needy.

The upcoming touring starts October 10 in Lima, Peru and will be a one-man show with no background music — only Magnus on bass performing songs from his three solo CDs: "Imagine a Place", "Reminiscence" and "Empty Room". "I have toured in Japan, the U.S., Europe and South America with my bass show before so it's not something new, but it is something many people don't know this about me."

Audioslave Guitarist: No Plans For Nightwatchman

"There's a song on the Michael Moore soundtrack, and, you know, these Axis Of Justice shows, and then I'm, I'm currently on the Rock Against Bush tour, so it's a great opportunity to be able to just, you know, throw a guitar in a case, and strap on the harmonica, and bring those chords and that message, and stick it to the man."

Nightwatchman songs are featured on "Songs And Artists That Inspired Fahrenheit 9/11" and "Tell Us The Truth: The Live Concert Recording", both of which came out this week. THE NIGHTWATCHMAN also appears on "Axis Of Justice: Concert Series Volume I", which will be released on November 2.
