Bloodsimple As Support For Second Leg of Jager
The Jägermeister Music Tour kicks off this November. This time out, DISTURBED leads the assault. CORROSION OF CONFORMITY serves as direct support on the first leg of the tour and BLOODSIMPLE will do the honors on the second leg. Each night a Jägermeister-sponsored band will open the show.
DISTURBED will be touring in celebration of the release of their third album, "Ten Thousand Fists" (Warner Bros.), which debuted at #1 on Billboard's charts with sales of over 240,000 its first week out.
"I really respect what Jägermeister has done on previous tours," says singer David Draiman, "so now that we're doing our first headlining tour in two years, we want it to be the Jägermeister Music Tour. We're psyched to be headlining. I'm a huge fan of the drink, and there's no doubt that DISTURBED and Jägermeister are a perfect mix."
Says Rick Zeiler, Director of Marketing & Brand Development for Sidney Frank Importing Co., Inc., the importers of Jägermeister, "Jägermeister is thrilled to be working with DISTURBED! We've been fans of their music for years, and now we finally get the chance to showcase them on the Jägermeister Music Tour!"
In the great tradition of the Jägermeister Music Tour, the ticket price will be kept in the $30 range, ensuring plenty of bang for the buck. Fans can expect great Jägermeister prizes and giveaways like the Jägermeister compilation CDs with live and unreleased tracks from Jägermeister bands as well as plenty of Jägermeister shirts, hats, and other prizes and giveaways from tour sponsors Schecter Guitars, Peavey Electronics, and Coffin Case.

Lunatica Ready North American Release
Female-fronted symphonic metal band Lunatica is prepared to make its impact on America with the release of its album, “Fables & Dreams,” on Frontiers/Locomotive Records.
“We are really satisfied with ‘Fables & Dreams,’” said singer Andrea. “The first album, ‘Atlantis,’ that we recorded in 2001 was not satisfying us at all. We still like the songs but the quality of the production is quite poor compared to what you can hear on the new album. On ‘Fables & Dreams’ we wanted to have a more professional approach. The songs are more worked out and we had more time for the recording.”
To help achieve this, producer Sascha Paeth (Rhapsody, Kamelot, Angra) was brought in. “It was the first time that we did the recording in a professional studio,” said Andrea. “Sascha and the other guys from Gate Studio gave us some good advice concerning the way of recording, and he had also good ideas for the production. We trusted him absolutely and just let him work and I think he brought the best out of our songs.”
The seeds of the Swiss band were planted in 1998 by Alex (keyboards) and Sandro (guitar). Lunatica combines catchy melodic metal with the beautifully sung lyrics of vocalist Andrea, who joined the band in 2001.
“I sing in a ‘normal’ way,” Andrea said. “This means not in the opera style, more like pop songs. Nevertheless, my voice is strong enough to be heard through the heavy guitar sound. That’s important for the live concerts.”
Upon its release in Switzerland, “Fables & Dreams” climbed directly number 13 on the Swiss Internet charts. Several months later, “Fables & Dreams” remained in the top 100 of the Swiss selling charts.
“It was a big surprise but also a big pleasure for us,” said Andrea. “We have a huge support by the fans and a good distributor in Switzerland. They did a lot of promo and we did also get some radio airplay although this style of music is normally not that much supported by radio stations in Switzerland.”

Nightwish Singer Issues Message To Fans & Media
Nightwish singer Tarja Turunen has posted the following letter on her personal website www.tarjaturunen.com:
"Since last Sunday morning, I have been asked to express my position by magazines, newspapers, radio and TV stations, fan clubs and fans from Finland and from all over the world. So many in total that it is physically impossible for me to find the time to reply to them all individually. Hence I decided to put down a couple of words in this text to let my fans, family and friends and the public know how I feel after the recent events. This is a moment of grief and pain and I find it very hard to speak.
"At the moment I am in Argentina. I hope you can understand that after this shocking life change comparable to a divorce, I didn’t want to stay alone at home in Finland. My husband had booked his tickets to Argentina many months ago and I decided to travel with him at the last minute.
"But the fact that I am in Argentina and the long distance should of course not be an excuse not to comment on the situation. More...
Strapping Young Lad Finish "Zen" Video
Strapping Young Lad drummer Gene Hoglan has checked in with the following update:
"Howdy Folks! Gene here, checking in with all the latest here in STRAPPINGLAND.
"First off, all of us in the extended STRAPPING family would like to wish Jed and his lovely bride, Susanna, congratulations on their recent nuptials. They were married in New Jersey on Sunday, October 2, in an absolutely fantastic ceremony, and poor Jed pretty much had to hop a plane immediately afterward! At least the hotel party was attended by our bus driver, Sean Sitka, who drove for 18 hours straight, as well as some of the Meshuggah men!
"And now, since we're all back in Vancouver, we just filmed a new video this past weekend. The song selection was bandied aboot for awhile, until finally, in a brilliant eleventh-hour decision, we chose "Zen". Everyone on the FORUM had such stellar ideas for the video, we thank you all for taking the initiative with your creativity, but due to the tight budget (and definite time constraints) we probably aren't going to be able to use a single one!p> Filmed in Vancouver by Marcus Rogers and Cinestir Productions (who brought you our "For Those Aboot to Rock" dvd), it's nothin' too fancy, but a great representation of STRAPPING onstage. Lemme say this; The MVP award for the day went to Dev and Jed. A pair of AMAZING performances! Jed, THE master of every cool rock move, and Dev, in all his glorious fuckin' GLORY! Righteous, indeed! Byron looked mighty, I looked liked Jabba/Cousin Itt, and we've even got Willy the Keyboard Guy in there! We wanted to have a shot of all of us SMASHIN' that retarded Terminator-lookin' thingy from the "Relentless" video, but, dummy me forgot to pack it! The video should be debuting sometime during the upcoming tour, so keep yer eyes peeled.
"And, on the subject of the upcoming tour, we're all real excited to be hittin' the road with our buds in FF, Soilwork and Darkane, so we're rehearsing our balls off at Heathen Choppers. Didja know we rehearse at a chopper shop? How cool is THAT? That tour commences on October 28th, in Lawrence KS, and finishes right here in Vancouver, on December 5. And, directly after, we head on over to England for a handful of shows with our pals in Arch Enemy. We are planning the full-on European tour in January/February, too!
"STRAPPING will have a couple new t-shirt designs coming as well, as a matter of fact, we got one of our ideas right off the message board. So thanks again guys, for comin' through. Also available soon will be a specialized, online-only STRAPPINGYOUNGLAD.com t-shirt. Cool, eh? We're also planning some giveaways on the site, too! We've spoken with ESP guitars about giving away a guitar or two on the site, so definitely look alive on that one. There will also be some cymbal, stick and assorted other giveaways as well in the coming weeks.
"Look for a feature on Dev and Jed in the latest issue of "Guitar Player" magazine, it's in the "Buzz" section. Byron has also just done an interview with "Bass Player" mag that should be out in the coming weeks, and, in the current issue of Revolver, there's a cool little giveaway of some personalized drumsticks from me, brought to you by the friendly folks at Revolver, and the righteous Kevin Radomski at Pro-mark Sticks.
"On an unrelated note, both Byron and myself have appeared on the debut Ani Kyd record, "Evil Needs Candy, Too". Produced by Jello Biafra and recently released on Alternative Tentacles, it's worth a listen. You can also check us out at anikyd.com.
"Well, I guess that's aboot it for now, everybody! Enjoy! See ya on the road...
"Stop, drop and CRANK!
Gene"
New Bleeding Through Album Tracklisting Revealed
Bleeding Through have announced the tracklist for their January album 'The Truth'.
The follow-up to the group's breakthrough album, "This Is Love. This Is Murderous", was produced by Rob Caggiano (Cradle of Filth, Dry Kill Logic).
In a recent interview with MeinlCymbals.com, Bleeding Through drummer Derek Youngsma spoke about the recording process for "The Truth" and the band's choice of producers for their latest effort.
"We went with [Rob] because we were really impressed with stuff he had done in the past," Derek said. "We're going for the big heavy sound on this record and we know he can make the mix. He also came in as an outside listener and gave us an honest opinion on the songs. When you write something and play it so many times, you begin to start to ignore little things, because you're so used to them. So he came in with fresh ears and heard these finished songs for the first time. He noticed little things that will make a big difference. For example he'd say, 'That chorus is great, your going to want it again later in the song,' and it makes perfect sense, as the part he was speaking of is catchy and listeners will have it stuck in their head after hearing it. As far as drums go, we just went for a really good natural sound (no triggers). So we spent a lot of time on drum sounds. We'd try different snare drums, different dampening and tuning on the toms and kicks, different microphones, placing of the microphones, etc. He also pushed me to play my ass off in the studio. I'd do a take of a song and he'd say, 'That was great now do it again.' Again and again and again."

The Haunted Singer Checks In With Tour Report
The Haunted continue to annihilate everything that stands in their way on the Fury of The Fall tour and continues to garner new legions of rabid fans with their pummeling Swedish thrash metal assault and highly energetic live show. The Decibel magazine sponsored trek, which also includes Meshuggah, God Forbid and Mnemic wraps up next week.
Peter Dolving (vocals) checks in with the following tour report: "You know right now being a member of The Haunted feels like being a part of something much greater than just a rock band. These last five shows really meant so much for us. I've been hurting like a motherfucker - seems like I busted my back and neck really bad somewhere along the way and for a while we talked about sending my broken Swedish ass home. We even talked to our friend Pat Lachman (ex-Halford and Damageplan) about filling in for me but with the help of painkillers, incredible massage therapeuts and plenty of ice I've been able to get up to do the shows. But the best support and inspiration are all of you - the people showing up. We want to thank you all so fucking much. You people are outstanding - singing along, screaming with me and just tearing shit up. That love and passion is what all this is about and together with our crew we want to shout out to all you, our friends and fans! Thank you for being real and staying sick as ever. This shit is beautiful; we love all you ugly bastards! See you out on the west coast. Over and Out!"

In Flames Drummer To Sit Out Motorhead Tour
In Flames has posted this message on their official website:
"Greetings People Of Earth....... We come with news.....
"First we would like to let all you people in the UK know that we will be doing the Motorhead tour without Daniel.
The reason for this is that he is becoming a father for the second time!
"We asked an old friend of ours, Tobbe Kellgren, to handle the drums for the tour and he gladly accepted.
"Daniel will be back on the next tour again.
"Furthermore - we had a listeningparty for our new album COME CLARITY with mediapeople and guests at the Storan Theater here in Gothenburg. For this special occasion we made a "rehearsal video" for the whole album that we showed to our guests.
Directing it was once again Patric Ullaeus! Patric and Anders worked really hard to get it done in time for the viewing and when the rest of us saw it it blew us away! Hopefully this is something that also YOU will be able to enjoy in the future - we?ll see..
"The release date for Come Clarity is approaching fast and we have some touringplans to announce:
"We will start a US tour in the end of January that will be running until the end of February. After that we are touring Europe from early March until April sometime. We will let you know as soon as we have some details (dates, support, etc.). On this Eurotrip we will try to do at least 5-7 shows in the UK - hopefully even getting to Ireland for the first time!
"And finally - we will shoot a video for the song "Take This Life" during this week. Patric Ullaeus will be directing and we will let you guys know more details as they unfold..
"Thats it for now - but we will return with more updates soon.
"In Flames signing out..."
