Moonspell Studio Update
Moonspell's Fernando has posted an update on the Moonspell web site concerning the status of the band:
“Moonspell is well obsessed and advanced on the process of discovering our new album that timidly starts taking shape and dragging us into the shapeless. I ask your attention to the new feature the A diaries that is a new, labyrinthine way I found recently of introducing you all, who will take your precious time to read and think about it (actually where there is codes there to be read or reflected upon). They are records of a discovering of the album in which we give the clues to ourselves. These diaries are burned bridges to a well kept secret. And why it is our album a well kept secret? Because we do not know it ourselves. In all honesty. This album, from which seven songs are being put on a demo as I speak, is actually a process of discovery. We feel like we are involved in a twisted method of desveiling rather than creating. Like picking the rocks up and see the bottom, what is under it. Rather than picking clay up and mold to it.More...

Dying Fetus Begin Recording
According to their website, Dying Fetus have begun recording their forthcoming album, Stop At Nothing at Hit and Run Studios in Rockville, Maryland. The band posted the following: “The drum tracks are nearly complete. It is great to be back in the studio after two years and we are excited about our new material."
Guitarist Mike Kimball added that his move from Salt Lake City to Maryland “went well. I got to Maryland safe after four days and 2300 miles of driving. It takes about a month to settle in after a relocation like this. Working with John, Erik, Sean, and Vince has been awesome, and living near Washington DC is exciting (notwithstanding our recent events with the sniper assholes, which hit WAY too close to home). I'm thrilled to be part of Dying Fetus and I can't wait for us to get the new album finished and get busy playing some shows."

Kreator's Petrozza: Bush is an Idiot
KREATOR frontman Mille Petrozza has publicly expressed his disapproval for the foreign policy of the Bush administration and the possibility of the U.S. waging war on Iraq.
"A lot of Americans [I spoke to] on [Kreator's most recent U.S.] tour have told me that they don't agree with some things that Bush does," Petrozza told KNAC.com. "It's really cool to see that. I think the majority of the people just follow this patriotic bullshit that is going on at the moment. They are proud to wear their flag or whatever. If that's all they identify with, in my opinion, that's really lame — it's like 'I don't have anything else but my stupid flag.' I don't think that the way Bush is handling things is the way they were meant to be handled. America stands for something else — not just this redneck dictator. He just tells people what to do and sends them to war. It's fucked up. I'm really anti-Bush. Even though I'm not from this country that's how I feel. More...
Usurper's Twilight Dominion
Chicago death/thrash lords Usurper have entered Chicago's Engine Music Studios to record their sixth CD with producer Neil Kernon for an early 2003 release through Earache Records. Entitled Twilight Dominion, the new album promises to be, in the words of Usurper guitarist Rick Scythe, "total old school thrash metal with some over-the-top traditional heavy metal hooks, and plenty of dark, underlying atmosphere... This album will definitely be the heaviest and most precise we ever had by far."
Lord Belial Inks Deal with Regain
Swedish black metal act Lord Belial has inked a deal with Regain Records. A new CD is expected to surface sometime in 2003.
Cruachan Stays with Hammerheart
Ireland's Cruachan is in the process of re-signing with Hammerheart Records. "[The band] have decided to stick with Hammerheart for the foreseeable future as they have shown great support for Cruachan and have great plans for the future," reads a statement on the group's official web site. "Hammerheart are also producing Cruachan t-shirts for the up-coming Benelux shows, there will be short sleeve, long sleeve and girlie tops available."
Relapse Signs Dysrhythmia
Relapse Records is proud to announce the signing of Philadelphia's Dysrhythmia to a worldwide recording deal. The band will showcase their avant-musical mesmerism on its forthcoming full-length CD due in spring, 2003.
Dysrhythmia crafts music so bold and indefinable that they create their own genre. The band's influences vary from progressive rock and metal to indie-rock sensibilities, avant-jazz, and ambient soundscapes. Dysrhythmia (drummer Jeff Eber, guitarist Kevin Hufnagel and bassist Clayton Ingerson) will enter Chicago's Electrical Audio Studios in late January with engineer Steve Albini to record their as-yet-untitled new album. The album will include the songs "Bastard," "My Relationship," "And Just Go...," "Heatsink," "Annihilation II," "Annihilation I," "Catalog of Personal Faults" and "Touch Benediction."
"Dysrhythmia is very excited to begin working with Relapse," commented Hufnagel. "It's nice to know that after 3 1/2 years of doing it ourselves, someone has been brave and confident enough to step in and work with a band like us. It's something new for both sides and we're highly anticipating what the future will hold."
