Beyond the Sixth Seal News

Lineup changes continue for Boston's Beyond The Sixth Seal as the group has announced the departure of bassist Matt Woods. Woods has decided to focus his attention towards school. Greg Weeks will now be filling in on bass, most likely for the remainder of this year. If you'd be interested in playing bass for BTSS, email them. Otherwise, the band is set to release a new record on Lifeforce Records. The album, entitled Earth and Sphere, is set for release on November 26th and the first 1000 copies will be in digipak format. In related news, Voice Of Life Records will be repressing the group's A Homicide Divine EP, which has been out of print for over a year. This Day Forward Drops Off Tour

Unfortunately, This Day Forward has been forced to pull out of their upcoming U.S. tour with Codeseven, In Pieces, and Dredg. The tour is set to run from mid-November through mid-December. Citing no specific reason for their decision, the following statement was released: "The band would like to apologize to everyone who planned on heading out to the shows. They will be on the road again very soon."

Anthrax Set European Release Date

Anthrax have set March 3, 2003 as the release date of their long-awaited new album, We've Come For You All, through Nuclear Blast Records in Europe. According to an official Nuclear Blast newsletter, "the problems with [Anthrax's] US label seem to be solved, so there shouldn't be any further delay concerning the release date."

Dissection Set Release Date for Live Album

Dissection's much-anticipated live album, titled Live Legacy, will finally see the light of day on February 17 through Nuclear Blast Records. Recorded at Wacken Festival 1996 in Wacken, Germany, the album will include live renditions of such Dissection classics as "The Somberlain", "Thorns Of Crimson Death", "Frozen", "Where Dead Angels Lie", "Unhallowed", and "Retribution – Storm Of The Lights Bane".

Dissection guitarist/vocalist Jon Nödtveit is currently working on new material at his Swedish prison cell (where he's serving a sentence for a murder conviction) and is planning on recording a new studio album next year for a 2004 release through Nuclear Blast. The drum tracks on the as-yet-untitled effort will be performed by ex-Emperor drummer Bård "Faust" Eithun, who is awaiting release in December after spending nine years and four months in prison for murdering a homosexual man

Gorgoroth's vocalist, Ghaal, has been accused of another action of brutal torture-like violence very similar to the crime for which he is now spending time in jail. This go around, Ghaal has also been accused of performing satanic rituals on the victim.

Kotipelto Issues Stratovarius Update

In a recent posting, Stratovarius frontman Timo Kotipelto gave the following update: “What I have been up to lately? I just thought to inform you about my activities in the past couple of weeks. I've been composing some songs lately. If they will be used for my next possible (Kotipelto) album is still a little bit open. There's also been some rumours if I will tour with Jari, Mirka, Sami and Janne (as Kotipelto) in Brazil or not. That is open too, I do hope to confirm the tour (or say if there is not a tour) in the next couple of days. I will have to talk to Jari and ask him what is the condition of his hand (for those who don't know: he injured his hand in a biking accident).
