Unearthing the Metal Underground: Gold Spire
The metal maniacs of Sweden have historically had a tendency of striking gold with inventive, powerful metal. As such, newbies Gold Spire couldn’t have been any more appropriately named. While the Uppsala-based band was conceived in 2019, the band isn’t exactly made up of musicians who are new blood flowing through the veins of the body of heavy metal. The act was forged by brothers Erik and Påhl Sundström following the disbanding of Påhl's former band Usurpress. What’s more, the brothers enlisted none other than vocalist Heval Bozarslan, frontman of the legendary Swedish death metal band Sarcasm. Ex-Megadeth bassist David Ellefson‘s new band The Lucid premiere their debut single “Maggot Wind“, streaming via YouTube below. The group finds him joined by singer Vinnie Dombroski (Sponge), guitarist Drew Fortier and Fear Factory drummer Mike Heller.The Lucid's self-titled debut album will be released on October 15th via SpoilerHead Records.

Indiana death/thrash band Demiricous return with their first new music in almost 12 years, “Terminal Future“. The track is off the band's third record “Three: Chaotic Lethal“. The album is expected out early 2022 via Post Recordings.
