Warbringer Rejoined By Original Bassist

Returning from a 5-week European tour earlier this month, the guys in WARBRINGER are enjoying their first break in schedule in quite some time due to a relentless touring and recording schedule that has seen the band release two albums and criss-cross the US, Canada and Europe 9 times in 18 months.

With three weeks of respite, the band has decided to replace bassist Ben Bennett with original bass player Andy Laux. Andy recorded the group’s debut, "War Without End," but was unable to join his band mates for any of the touring due to him still being in high school. Now with his studies complete, Andy has been focusing on sound engineering and even built his own home garage studio but will rejoin the guys for future touring and recording.

Andy had this to say, "After parting ways with WARBRINGER a year-and-a-half ago I never would have seen this coming but circumstances have left the band in need of someone to handle bass duties. When I was asked to fill the position how could I refuse? The members of WARBRINGER are my good friends and (literally) my family so the choice was obvious, I look forward to catching up with the fans, seeing some familiar faces, but most of all thrashing every venue this side of the solar system!"

Guitarist, and older brother, John Laux added, “I’m happy to have my brother back in the band and to share some of the experiences I’ve been able to witness firsthand. The band has decided to part with bassist Ben Bennett due to a few serious personal and offstage issues we’ve encountered on the road. We thank him for all his contributions to the band, the album and the touring and we all wish him the best of luck with any future endeavors.”

WARBRINGER will be playing a couple shows in Mexico August 28 and 29, before embarking on the Obituary, Goatwhore, Krisiun, The Berzerker tour starting September 3rd.

New God Dethroned Video For Poison Fog

God Dethroned has also finished work on a new video for the track Poison Fog, which will debut sometime in September.

God Dethroned also announced the War Propaganda World Tour 2009 in support of their latest album, Passiondale.

Henri Sattler comments on the tour: “Our "Storming the Balkans" tour which we did about a month ago was a test. A test to see if our new band members, Susan and Mike, would be the right people to have in the band for the long tour we have ahead of us. A new world tour starting on September 3rd in Brazil leading us through Peru, Ecuador and Colombia up to Mexico for the first leg of our "War Propaganda World Tour 2009". I'm happy to say that they passed the audition well. On the South American shows, we will be accompanied by Elexorien from Holland and in Colombia also Belphegor will make their appearance. The Mexican shows will be with Entombed, Vital Remains, Master and Lividity o.a.

The second leg of the tour starts on September 30th in Tucson, Arizona with Abigail Williams, Augury and label mates Woe of Tyrants and leads us through the States up to Canada. We are really excited to tour the U.S. again and to promote our latest album "Passiondale", which was released last April. Our last show in the U.S. was in 2007 so we can't wait to see many of our fans again soon!

On October 21st, we head back to Europe for the third leg of our tour with Endstille and Hollenthon.

As some of you may have noticed already, Roel Sanders does not play drums in God Dethroned anymore. The amount of shows we're playing is much more than we expected and unfortunately Roel could not combine this with his private life and other activities anymore. It was hard to say goodbye to him, but we remain good friends as always. We have welcomed Michiel "Mike" van der Plicht as his replacement on the drum throne and we've already done a number of very successful shows with him. Now we look towards the future with confidence again.

See you somewhere on tour.

Cheers,”

Henri
God Dethroned

Far From Fate Seeking Fan Input About Their Genre

California's Far From Fate has issued the following statement about seeking fan input about what specific genre they belong to:

"Alot of people who are not musicians have been commenting that you guys don't sound like your influences. Well to that I say influences means they can influence your songs, song structure, sound, stage presence, motivation to play music, clothing anything. How many metal players are influenced by great blues players, even classical composers but don't sound that way at all. How many peopl have the beatles influenced but no one seems to sound like them today. Everyone in tye band has different influences and for different reasons, we are writing our own music so what come sout comes out. As far as fans go you have to target everyone, you never know who will like your music and who won't, sometimes the people you think will like it don't and vice versa. Is it crazy to think one may like us and anothe band that you dont think we sound like or we dont sound like? The world would be a boring if you were only allowed to listen to one kind of band or one type of music. So it would be interesting fo you guys let us know who you think we sound like. Some of the suggestions maybe bands we don't even like or influence us. Lol so what does that mean then. We have to target the fans of bands we dont like or never heard of lol, We want to make it just like everyone else in this industry.

"WE ARE CURIOUS WHO PEOPLE COMPARE US TO AND WHAT GENRE WE ARE STUCK INTO. ITS HARD TO PLACE OURSELVES AND SAY WHO WE SOUND LIKE, SO HELP US OUT GIVE A LISTEN TO OUR TRACKS MORE THAN ONE HOPEFULLY AND LET US KNOW WHO YOU THINK WE SOUND LIKE."

Blood & Ink Records Announce Deal with RevHQ.

Blood & Ink Records made a very exciting announcement today.

"We are extremely excited to announce that we have signed an exclusive distribution deal with Revelation! Their long-standing commitment to independent music and their devotion to not only releasing quality music, but working with only the best labels around has proven them to be among the very few, well respected distributors around today. We truly believe this will be a huge encouragement and advantage to what Blood & Ink Records strives to do."

This is a great deal for people who love both new and old hardcore and metal. Revelation distributes so much media (vinyl, too) that they're often able to find old and obscure albums from the 80's. So if you're fans of some of Blood & Ink's back catalog, there's good chance you might be able to purchase it soon.

Ace Frehley Speaks On New KISS Album

Ace Frehley, the former lead guitarist for rock legends KISS, has recently given his opinion on the new KISS song, "Modern Day Delilah" and their decision to sell the new album, "Sonic Boom" exclusively through Wal-Mart stores. Some excerpts from the interview reads as follows:

Q: Have you heard the new KISS single 'Modern Day Delilah'?

Ace Frehley: "Actually I did. I thought it was a good song. Paul's always been a really good writer and the only thing that I would say that the song didn't live up to was the fact that I believe they said that all the new songs were going to sound like stuff from the '70s and I didn't get that. The new song sounded like it could be something off an album they did in the '80s... that's what I got, but I thought it was a good song."

Q: What do you think of KISS selling their new cd exclusively through Wal-Mart?

Ace Frehley: It seems that more and more groups are going with major chains. I guess there's a plus to the fact that they'll give you a large advance, but the minus is the album is only available in that chain of stores. I guess there's pluses and minuses to everything, I mean, I entertained that idea, but, for me, I thought it was better that my album be available everywhere."

Fozzy To Release New Album In January

In a recent interview with the Baltimore Sun, Fozzy lead vocalist and World Wrestling Entertainment superstar Chris Jericho gave some insight regarding the new Fozzy album, "Chasing The Grail" and when fans can expect it to hit the shelves. An excerpt reads as follows:

Jericho: "Our new record, Chasing The Grail, will be out in January. We’ve been in discussions with radio programmers to see what the first single will be. There are five or six different songs they want to choose from. This really is a masterpiece for us and I think it will put us in a different category. I think it will change people’s perceptions that this is just Jericho’s wrestling band. I mean, Bruce Dickinson from IRON MAIDEN is a pilot but that doesn’t mean that his band doesn’t kick ass. We’re doing straight-forward, great rock and roll music."
