Although no word has been given by either Ozzy Osbourne or Firewind's camp, a message on the official Facebook page of Randall Amplifiers has claimed that Firewind guitarist Gus G. is now the new guitarist for metal legend Ozzy Osbourne. The message reads as follows:

"Randall Amps is getting ready to watch signature Randall artist Gus G. make his debut as the new guitarist for Ozzy this Saturday, August 22nd. The concert will take place at the Blizzcon convention and be available on DIRECTV pay-per-view. Watch him play his signature Heaven and Hell half stack!"

I think Gus G. would be a good fit for Ozzy, personally.

Agreed. This guy would be a good choice. I'm not too fond of Firewind's music but, I saw them live and they sure know how to work a crowd.

f*** no. PLEASE f***ING NO.

Firewind is immense, and it never does anything good for any band having one of its members with a split attention.

Ozzy, you bastard, go get Zakk back. Please?

Zakk Wylde is the past now. Ozzy is known for exposing unknown guitarists to the world by offering them a slot as his axeman. Look at Randy Rhoads, he went from playing backyard gigs with Quiet Riot to playing concerts with Ozzy. Jake E. Lee? From Ratt to Ozzy and he is now a well known guitarist. It's a new generation now, and Gus G is up for grabs. This might just be a rumor though.

I like Gus G. He's really talented but I'm rather cold towards Firewind (pun intended).

I hope not. I like Firewind and Gus G, but what Ozzy desperately needs is another 17 yr old kid protegy.

What kid, in today's metal atmosphere, would want to play with a 60-year-old man, regradless if he's a legend or not? They'd all rather join papa roach or killswitch engage or some gay sh** like that. sadly...

(Before I get a whipping here, I am Ozzy fan, but yes, I think the time has come to pull the plug.)

What else has Gus G been a part of musically? I'm not a fan of the power metal approach of Firewind, just not my taste, but I do enjoy the guitar, making me wonder if he's been a player for another band I might enjoy more?

I know I've seen his name somewhere else before Firewind got semi-popular, hence why I ask.

Arch Enemy? Who's that?

thanks BG lol I'll wikipedia it to figure out which songs/albums he was specifically on, so I can know what to expect form this union of forces. I would just go ahead and listen to Firewind, but I cant stand power metal outside of Dio and Iron Maiden, and those are barely even in that genre anyway.

FAN: I saw a clip of their performance at Blizcon and Gus pulled more pinch harmonics than Zakk did and he completely mimics Zakk's stage presence as well. Tommy (the drummer from Rob Zombies band) was horrible and Ozzy was... His usual. Couldn't hit the notes, got lost in the song and said something about going crazy. All in all the performance was substandard and convinced me that I will never pay my hard earned money to see the douche of darkness again. Absolutely awful.

^ Definitely not!
I read an interview with Jake E Lee a few years ago and he even got out of the whole Ozzy thing by having a large chunk of money paid to him instead of having to deal (=argue) later on with Ozzy over his royalties of the albums he played and had credits on
