Therion Parts Ways With Vocalist
Sweden’s Therion issued the following statement about parting ways with vocalist Snow Shaw:
"We are sad to confirm that Snowy Shaw has suddenly decided to not do any of the upcoming shows with Therion. This decision took us by surprise, because, up to now, we have had a great collaboration. The reason is simply that he has been working on an album with another big band (as a bass player - that came as a surprise too!), who have now offered him a deal he felt he could not refuse. We don't think this is a good decision, but accept the situation and wish him good luck.
"We realize many will miss Snowy, who did a great job during the more theatrical direction Theriontook during the Gothic Kabbalah era (as well as on the coming album, Sitra Ahra). Like all the other close guest collaborators in the history of the band (Mats Levén, Andy 'the bald guy' Engberg, Karin Fjellander, Sara Jezebel Deva, Martina Hornbacher, Dan Swanö...), he contributed with something unique and put his mark on the ongoing Therion development. And just like the choice of Mats Levén was questioned in the beginning, (for being too rock ‘n’ roll for Therion) and later became a beloved part of the band’s identity at the time, Snowy also made the journey from being regarded as a somewhat odd choice to becoming a popular character in the Therion show. Futures End Posts New Tour Blogs
Guitarist Christian David Wentz of Futures End has checked in with two more updates from the road about the band's trip to Texas:
"Futures End Texas Show Blog III: We arrived at the venue and were pleasantly surprised at the size of the place, as well as the quality of sound there. It was just killer to show up just in time for Fates Warning's sound check. We got to hear them play 4 songs before turning over the stage to our crew. After getting Six Minute Century set up and ready to play, we all headed upstairs where we had some truly awful steak and some truly outstanding company.
"Rusty from Lone Star Metal Magazine sat down with Marc, Fred, and I for an interview. We had a great time chatting with Rusty, then it was time for SMC's set, which we were not going to miss. They were just excellent. I have seen them play many times and this was certainly the brightest and tightest show I have witnessed. Their new bass player is a welcome edition to the band and he delivered a fine performance. Next, Futures End took the stage.
"I was blown away with the energy of the crowd, packed tightly like sardines from the stage all the way to the back wall, spilling out to the rest of the club off to stage left. The response was nothing like I have ever experienced. Holy SHIT you guys were insane! I am truly in awe of the reception we got here in Texas. Thank you all for making this show so special for us! My oldest son Andrew drove down with his mother and some friends from McKinney to see us play. That was the icing on the cake and I was so happy to see my kid for the first time in a couple of years. We had a great time hanging out together. More...

Dave Mustaine Issues Road Report
Megadeth front man Dave Mustaine has checked in with the following update from the road:
"Droogies! Yesterday was such a great day for me, that I don't even know where to start. First, y'all know how much I love the Latin based countries, South and Central America, and of course, the reason my family and myself fell in love with the Spanish speaking people of the world, and that is when we lived in Marbella, Spain.
"It doesn't matter what part of Spain I am in, it always, always brings a smile to my face; much like being in Argentina and Chile, and my new favorite neighbor to the South - Costa Rica! The show yesterday was really smooth, like David Ellefson shared in his post, and after we were done we said, 'hello' to several people, and even went to watch Rammstein.
"Too bad I could never do something like that. I just can't see me with a flamethrower on my face, and standing in the middle of enough explosives to free Iran! We are just going through customs in Russia, so I have to go now, so for the first time in a long time, I can say goodbye my Droogies, and someone will know what the heck a Droogie is."

The deal we have struck will enable us to take the band to levels we have yet only dreamed of, and beyond! You can expect a HUGE release that is bound some send tremors throughout the metal world early 2011!"

Zareptha Parts Ways With Guitarist
Norwegian metallers Zareptha have issued the following update about parting ways with their guitarist:
"Sorry for the total lack of communication the last months. We have been dealing with some issues that's kind of sad. Unfortunately, our good friend and most excellent guitar player, Kølla, has decided to leave Zareptha. I would like to thank him for his contribution to our music and for all the good times. At the same time I would like to mention that his departure has nothing to do with arguments, fights etc. Kølla's new job, forced him to move to Oslo and it became pretty much impossible for him to dedicate as much time to Zareptha as he used to. You will be missed, buddy!
"We have not started to look for an replacement because we want to finish the record first. What we do now in the whole record-process, is listening to different mixes and adjusting sounds as we go. We are almost there, and can't wait to upload it to myspace. I am finishing the guitar and vocal adjustments next week. Krutt and Jiih is pretty much done. In other words the whole record is soon ready for mastering.
"It is also worth mentioning that we have shortened our name to just Zareptha. This is because that's what everybody calls us (including ourselves) and easier to remember. Anyway, Zareptha is alive and breathing. We are working on finding a proper scene for our release concert/party. Date and place will be announced. There you go! An update from the Zareptha camp!"

Anthrax Confirmed For American Carnage Tour
Metalheads rejoice: North America's biggest thrash tour in 20 years is announced, as 1991's original American "Clash of the Titans" lineup – Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax - will tour together once again on Leg Two of the American Carnage Tour. This trek kicks off September 24 at Verizon Wireless Theatre in Dallas, TX and will play 20 dates, including New York's Nassau Coliseum, concluding at Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on October 21. Now the only possible bigger tour will inevitably be when all of the "Big Four" take their European Tour back to the United States.
On Leg Two of American Carnage, Megadeth will continue to roar through its landmark 1990 album Rust in Peace from front to back, while Slayer will rip the roof off by performing its much-lauded Seasons in the Abyss album, which was also released in 1990. Anthrax recently welcomed back singer Joey Belladonna, who defined the band during their prime, and now permanently back in the band, will be front-and-center. Belladonna will be on their upcoming album: "Worship Music" which has no official release date as of today.
The original “Clash of the Titans” tour united the three forces of thrash metal for the entire summer of 1991, with then-little known Alice in Chains serving as the opener. This tour, which falls under the “American Carnage” banner, isn’t rewriting history; it’s writing a whole new chapter of headbanging history that is sure to delight fans new and old. It is still unknown if Alice In Chains will perform as the opening act. Tour dates as followed: More...

Michael "Away" Langevin, the drummer for Canadian metal veterans Voivod, has revealed that contrary to previous plans, the band has decided to continue and are currently working on brand new material. There was alot of speculation that the band's last studio album, "Infini" would be their last, as it featured the final guitar parts from deceased guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'amour. In a recent interview with MusicNerd.ca, Langevin stated:
"I don’t think we’ve actually said this in public before, but we are writing new material as of last month. We want to give it a try and to see what we can do with this lineup and take it from there.
