Divsion has announced that they'll have their new album, "Control Issues," distributed by Nightmare Records. Guitarist Mike Blevins has issued a blog post about it and how it fits into their DIY plans:
"Some of you have been reading my blogs about recording the band. It was originally a goal for 'Control Issues' to do the whole thing ourselves, partially for the experience, and partially because we could see that this is very definitely where the 'music industry' is headed, so we might as well start getting ready for it.
"If ever there was a topic for a good, spirited argument, this is it. I’ve had several, in pretty much all the formats you can think of. (Well, I don’t think I’ve used the USPS to conduct this argument yet, but I digress…) Regardless, it’s never (or very seldom) actually doing it ALL yourself. Many people with way more experience than I possess have told me that, much like being your own lawyer, the person that is his own mastering engineer has a fool for a client. That’s why we chose Bill Wolf of Wolf Productions to master the 'Control Issues' CD. He did a much better job than I can ever dream of doing. Some things are best left to the specialists.
"With that as our working paradigm, we’d like to announce (in conjunction with our label, 2/5ths Gone Records) that the 'Control Issues' CD will be distributed by none other than Nightmare Records. Mainman Lance King has built quite the powerhouse of a label and distribution company up in the Great White North of Minnesota, and we’re proud to be associated with Nightmare. The CD should now be available from *your* favorite distro – including iTunes, for those so inclined – since Lance works with just about everybody. If it isn’t, well, ask them why not, or buy it from Nightmare directly.
"Here’s to a long, fruitful partnership with Nightmare, from all of us!"
Brooklyn doom metallers Kings Destroy have posted thier first music video for the track "Old Yeller." "Old Yeller" is featured on the band’s self-released debut 7-inch EP.
Irish thrash act Gama Bomb have announced a free concert set to take place on July 12th at The Unicorn in London, U.K. Gama Bomb start off their U.K. tour with Sepultura on July 14th in Bristol.
Frontmant Philly Byrne commented by saying:
"In many ways a Gama Bomb gig is like a Ryanair flight. Firstly, our ‘passengers’ are subjected to a sonic barrage of babbled spoken word and mechanical screaming noises by a crew of foreign people who look bad in tight-fitting clothes – namely, us. Secondly, we’re constantly trying to force people to drink sub-standard liquor and buy shoddy mementos. Finally, our gigs often end with a bumpy landing and a round of applause that half the crowd don’t think is deserved. We’re looking forward to hanging out with old friends and meeting some new ones on this UK tour with Sepultura. Oh, and we’re going to start charging fans to use the toilet. Thanks for flying Gama Bomb, Europe’s number one budget thrash band."

You can check out sample Vesperian Sorrow songs through the band's official MySpace page.
New Hampshire black metal act Vintage Flesh has issued the following recording update:
"So, much has been accomplished in the past couple weeks. Most of the guitar work is down after two days worth of toil. I went yesterday to offer support. Also to get heavily intoxicated away from home life for a day. Not much to tell really. We are keeping Matt (Gemini) on the drums for 'priest skin ship.' I initially had a hard time with certain parts of the song and decided to let Gemini have a stab at it. He did very well after only three takes. Then I began to think I may want another crack at it but after re-hearing his take I decided to let him go with it. The drum parts are mine exactly as if I had done them just minus the bad nerve damage I suffer only when drumming at times.
"Next session will have Hex complete all guitar tracks and then we can have Matt step up on bass to fill out certain songs that would benefit from a good bass line. But not all tracks. Then comes keys and added effects and finally i get to vomit up my vokills all over the nice little ditties at hand. Moving along as planned!"
Norway's Virus has issued the following announcement about recruiting a new bass player:
"After Plenum's untimely departure, we've been searching far and wide for someone to fill in on bass for the upcoming album The Agent That Shapes The Desert. We discovered the answer to our prayers in our backyard so to speak.
"His name is Bjeima, he is a multi-talented artist residing in Oslo, who's got/is involved with tons of interesting projects out and on the way, like Yurei, Delirium Bound, Konstriktor, The Ghost Conspiracy and M to name a few. To say that we like his playing is an understatement and we're pretty sure those expecting a worthy successor to Plenum will not be disappointed."

Sweden's Kongh has checked in with the following announcement about upcoming European shows:

"Hello fans and friends! Summer is coming so we want to tell you of some of our near future plans and remind you of our summer festival appearances. We will also play at the Dark River festival, on August 7th, in Kotka. In autumn we'll be playing a few shows in Sweden with Carnal Forge!
"The swarming caused by Remorses to Remember has been larger than expected, but that hasn't slowed us down. In fact, we have been writing new material for our next album and we will continue writing and rehearsing for the summer and autumn. That means we won't be playing live as intensively as before, but still do some live performances so that we won't get bored and kill each other at the training crib. The schedule of our next album is still undecided - work is in progress. We will keep you updated."

Denmark's The Kandidate has issued the following announcement about supporting Volbeat and The Kandidate on an upcoming European tour:

Volbeat has been friends of ours since we all started playing back in the day. It's been exciting to follow their way to world fame in the last few years, and we had a blast on our last DK tour together in 2007. We are looking very much forward to joining them again this fall.
"As we all have been die hard fans of Entombed since Left Hand Path came out in 1989, it's a real dream come true to share the stage with them. In other words we are thrilled to get this opportunity and we can't wait to get out and kick some serious ass on everybody! Rock on – we will!"
The Kandidate's upcoming tour dates are as follows: More...
The Summoned has posted three video clips from the recording studio, which can be found after the jump. The band also checked in with the following statement about the recording process:
"Steve from The Summoned here, figured I'd let everyone know how the recording process is coming along. Right now we're about half way done with drums and most of the guitars out of the way. All we need to finish now is Jake's leads, we'll have our ex-bassist Greg Mann filling in on bass duties for the album then vocals. So far the album is sounding awesome. The drums seriously pound and everything is nice and clear. The guitars sound very heavy and overall crisp.
"We're having a ton of fun recording it with Fred Sladkey of Mudskipper Studio. The same guy who also recorded our 2009 demo and our EP 'Harvest,' he knows exactly what we want and how to get the best performance possible out of us. We're really stoked to release this album and we hope it's everything that everyone is expecting out of it. Below is some studio footage of the drums and guitar sessions. More will be posted on our YouTube channel during the recording process." More...

Guitarist Vic Stown of Vindicator has issued the following "Coastal Catastrophe" tour recap:
"Vindisciples, so we've been and gone again. Coastal Catastrophe was exactly what we named it. Never again will we put a hex on ourselves by naming a tour something like that! But it wasn't like it wasn't awesome, there were just more speed bumps than we expected.

Not only is he a genius when it comes to musical arrangements but he's also a dear friend which makes it all so much more enjoyable."
Woods of Ypres has posted a new tour blog online via Decibel Magazine. An excerpt from the blog follows:
Day 1 Thunder Bay, ON
Any hardworking band with significant mileage under their belt knows that tour is not vacation. Just two hours out of Sault Ste. Marie, the northern Ontario home base for Woods of Ypres, an inexplicable incident with the van’s hood broke the windshield, keeping us off the road for the whole day and forcing the cancellation of the first show. Missing one show is one too many, but some kinds of crises might be expected. They can and will occur, no matter what distance traveled.
“When you get to Winnipeg, you need to go to the water park there,” our talkative French-Canadian tow truck driver advised, “and stand at the bottom of the big waterslide, and chicks in bikinis will whoosh…come right off if it’s a ‘big pair.’ I had the best time of my life in Winnipeg.” Woods would never turn down friendly assistance—especially in those circumstances—but being packed into the cab of his tow truck, the other two guys being pulled along behind in the van, was miserable, knowing we would miss our first show and unsure if we would get to Winnipeg at all. However, as it turns out, moose carcasses found on the highway can still be put to good use, depending on if they were “marshmallowed” by a truck or not. Break down near Wawa, and Ghislain will tell you all about it.More...

Miguel Santos of Portugal's A Dream of Poe has checked in with the following update about the band after the release of a new EP:
"Hello all! And only one month after the release of 'Lady of Shalott' I’m really glad to announce that the EP was downloaded 647 times! I must admit that I really wasn’t expecting to reach that mark any soon! I remember that 'Sorrow For The Lost Lenore' took around 3 months to reach the 500 mark. For that I really want to thank everyone of you who have downloaded the EP and for all your support! Thank you very much!
"Beside the studio work we will now start rehearsing for the European Tour set for the first months of 2011 and for a possible mini-tour next November or December. Will keep you update about that possibility. Doom or be doomed!"

We will publish a bulletin when the reservations will start.
"The show in Grenoble with Nargaroth, so the only show at this time for the release of the new album, is cancelled. Reason : owner of the club (Drakk'Art) is scarred and don't want to have some NSBM bands. To make it clear : Nargaroth is not a NSBM band in music, lyrics, attitudes or visuals. So I found this cancellation really stupid and without foundations. I will not 'publish' any disclaimer for scarred well-thinking minds concerning politic in ND cause there is nothing to justify... Lot of gigs for the Mexican tour are booked. We will announce it as soon as we got all details. More...

Bassist Eric Meeks of Maryland's Tribunal has checked in with the following update about the band recording new material:
"The recording is almost 100% complete! 9 of the 10 songs have the guitars and drums finished, only awaiting bass and vocal tracks! The last song (which was an instrumental, will explain momentarily) is being rewritten, rearranged, and rerecorded as we speak. Now to explain the last statement. Under the moniker that the band previously used, we recorded what became a 9 song demo, including the 4 songs that are currently posted on our page. Unfortunately for us, the over zealous, jackass band member who was producing those recordings decided he was going to bastardize our music by putting his unwanted touches to our music, thus tainting and changing the songs from their original form.
"I am thrilled to report today that not only have the songs been unbastardized, but restored to their original forms (or as closely as we could get them), with all of the extra unwanted added parts having been removed and replaced with properly rewritten parts implemented in their places, and in some places upgrades have been done to further tweak the songs making them all the better even yet! Blessed Armageddon was made into an instrumental because of the additional unwanted parts that were added, making it too much effort for an inexperienced vocalist to even try to make an effort to sing over.
"The band also has moved out of our old rehearsal studio. The working environment in that facility has really degraded over the last year, seeing it become more of a party palace with way too many unneeded or unwanted distractions. Not to mention this was done in even FURTHER attempts to distance ourselves from former band members and what they represent, just another way to cut old, dead, unwanted ties. More...
