Age of Ruin Returns With A New Single

After a long hiatus metalcore stalwarts Age of Ruin has released "Heavy is the Crown," the first single from forthcoming album "Nothingman." As an added bonus, "Heavy is the Crown" was released along with the B-side, "Holding on" (a non-album track), which is also available on various platforms.
"Nothingman," Age of Ruin’s forthcoming album, is a collection of 10 songs that cuts a path to the heart with harmony and angst that others would be naïve not to mimic. The band sacrificed blood and sweat for two years to expel "Nothingman."
Age of Ruin began the recording process in October of 2023, and after nine months of tracking on location in Richmond, VA, at the Bakery Studio, in Washington, DC, at Ivakota Studio, and at the Riff Dojo in Takoma Park, MD, the record being produced by Mike Schleibaum of Darkest Hour. More...

Cattle Decapitation Parts with Bassist

Cattle Decapitation has announced the departure of bassist Oli Pinard, who has chosen to focus on Cryptopsy. Diego Soria of Broken Hope will be filling in for their current tour, but no announcement has been made beyond that. Here's the statement from the band:

Its a somber day in the Cattle camp as we must announce the departure of our bass player and buddy, Olivier Pinard. Oli has decided his focus must shift back to his home band Cryptopsy and his personal life. Being in two touring bands is very demanding on a human and while we are sad to see him go, we more than understand. We wish Oli the best of luck and be sure to check out the new song they just dropped and pick up their new album when it comes out!

Filling in for the upcoming EU tour will be our friend Diego Soria of Broken Hope. You may have seen him on the Chaos And Carnage tour and multiple other tours and shows over the years when he's stepped up and filled in for us.

Winterfylleth Parts with Bassist Nick Wallwork

British atmospheric black metal band Winterfylleth has announced the departure of bassist and backing vocalist Nick Wallwork after 16 years together. Replacing him is Mark Doyle, who has filled in for the band previously and plays with related project Arð. The band announced:

After giving his all for 16 years, 7 albums, 2 live albums, various EPs, as well as performances at almost every show we have ever undertaken, Nick Wallwork has taken the decision to hang up his guitar and retire from Winterfylleth.

While there is no animosity or impact on our relationships in his departing (and indeed he will still be around for Arð, and our other less intensive projects) it is still difficult to be losing the talents of a great musician and friend from our main endeavours as Winterfylleth. It takes a lot from a person to be in a band for the long haul – both in terms of the time & continual efforts needed to maintain it and push it forwards. All of this having to be done around the rest of life’s many requirements.

It goes without saying that Nick’s presence will be greatly missed by us all, and that he will always remain, to us, a member of Winterfylleth. In his parting, we have come to accept that life dictates other priorities for everyone at various stages throughout its course, and that there are other ‘peaks that must be climbed’ for us all. So, we all support his decision to progress into the next chapter of his life.

I hope you will join us in thanking Nick for everything he has done while in Winterfylleth these last 16 years!

Full Of Hell Premiere New Single & Music Video

Full Of Hell continue their relentless creative output with the announcement of a brand new EP, “Broken Sword, Rotten Shield”. A press release delves into the themes woven throughout the EP’s seven tracks, highlighting the sonic chaos and conceptual depth fans have come to expect from the noise-driven metal unit:

‘These seven new songs are a blistering meditation on love, loss, and the crushing inevitability of grief. Through a fantasy-tinged lens, the band crafts a world of dog knights and noble quests, only to tear it all down in a violent reckoning with mortality. As vocalist Dylan Walker explains, these symbolic protectors—pure-hearted and loyal—stand in for the real-life companions we lose, and the void left behind when they’re gone.’

The just released video - co-directed by Sam DiGristine and Patrick Costello - for their new single “Knight’s Oath” serves as the sonic spearhead for the EP, both of which now available for streaming via YouTube and Spotify for you below.

Frontman Dylan Walker explains that the track explores themes of: More...
