Brutal Assault Completes Lineup For 2025

This year’s Brutal Assault announces its final bands! Norwegian group Funeral will bring slow and dark doom metal, while the Brazilian all-female formation Crypta and Czech brutal death metal machine Cutterred Flesh will deliver a solid dose of death metal. Slovak band Besna will showcase their mix of post-black metal with elements of Slovak folklore, and South Bohemian quartet Marked As An Enemy will serve up modern metalcore/hardcore. Rounding out the lineup are the musically and visually artistic grunge project Pan Lynx by Michal Skorepa, and Brno’s DIY hardcore/punk icon See You In Hell! Although this is a stylistically diverse batch of bands, one thing unites them – all of them will be making their debut at Brutal Assault!

Brutal Assault will take place in the Czech Republic at the Josefov Fortress during August 6-9, 2025.

Fairyland Reveals New Album Details

French symphonic power metal band Fairyland are thrilled to announce the release of their new studio album "The Story Remains," scheduled for June 13th, 2025, via Frontiers Music Srl. Following the release of "A New Dawn," the band now share the new single and accompanying video "To Stars And Beyond," which can be seen below.

Bassist Willdric Lievin described the new single: "'To Stars And Beyond' was the first song from the new album we were working on. In this track you have everything you love about Fairyland - massive, majestic symphonic sound, juicy guitar solo, multilayered, rich orchestrations, catchy chorus and uplifting lyrics sung by our amazing new singer Archie Caine."

"This song is about rebirth and renewal, it reminds you that after every dark time and hardship there's a light coming, that you can turn your pain and your sorrows into something beautiful. You're the master of your own life, you create it and as long as there's a fire inside you, you can reach “to stars and beyond," he added.

Talking about the new record, Lievin stated: "After the passing of Fairyland's founder and mastermind Phil Giordana, we faced the challenge to finish the fifth album. Phil left plenty of material, but it required a lot of further work. It wasn't easy but in the face of adversity we excelled and managed to complete the album. This, along with a new lineup, starts a new chapter in the history of Fairyland. It continues the symphonic, power metal quality that Fairyland is known for, but we decided to add some new elements to this musical landscape."

"The Story Remains is richer and more versatile than previous albums, and we are exploring new musical and lyrical territory for the band. We are happy and proud of this new album, and we hope that listening to it will give you a lot of delight. Welcome back to Fairyland," he continued. More...

Dopelord Signs With Season Of Mist Records

Since budding out of Poland in 2010, Dopelord have cultivated their own heavily psychedelic strand of stoner metal. While they worship at the altar of the almighty riff, the band's discography is blessed with haunting choruses, catchy trancelike riffs and other signs of the occult.

"You can be assured that everything on Songs for Satan is first-class stoner doom," The Sleeping Shaman exclaimed about their last album.

Dopelord are busy crafting full-length album number 6(66). When they're not lighting up the studio, the band are out rolling the road with their hazy magick ritual. With highly regarded appearances at festivals like Brutal Assault and tours with current and former Season of Mist labelmates Stoned Jesus and Saint Vitus, the smoke from their weed cult stretches over the world of metal like a dank, dark cloud.
