Slaughter To Prevail To Release New Album In July
Russian metal powerhouse Slaughter To Prevail has announced their highly anticipated new album "Grizzly," set to be released on 18th July via Sumerian Records. Along with the news comes the band’s blistering new single "Russian Grizzly In America." The song is accompanied by a music video featuring a towering animatronic bear and UFC heavyweight fighter Alexander Volkov, which can be seen below.
On the new album front man Alex Terrible shares, "I think this is the best album we have ever written. We put so much effort into it. We spent a lot of time on every detail and really poured our souls into the songs. In the past, we were always rushing to finish albums and just releasing whatever we had. This time, we took our time, worked carefully on each track, and made sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. Hopefully it was all worth it."
With the summer packed with main stage festival performances across the U.S., Canada, and Europe, 2025 is already shaping up to be a career-defining year for SLAUGHTER TO PREVAIL. Their logo now sits high on the world’s biggest festival posters, a reflection of their rapid ascent. This summer, the band will unveil a brand-new live show, reimagining their already punishing performances with a harder-hitting, more visceral production—an experience designed to pull fans deeper into the chaos, making every moment feel explosive and unpredictable.
All of this momentum leads to Grizzly, their most anticipated release yet. Featuring the already released singles "Conflict," "Viking," "1984," "Behelit" and "Kid Of Darkness," the album is a relentless assault, balancing raw aggression with massive, unforgettable catchiness, with the latest single, "Russian Grizzly In America," set to be a heavy metal anthem, packed with hooks strong enough to hang a bear from. Crypta Reveals Live Guitarist For European Tour
Brazilian death metal squadron Crypta has arrived in Europe to embark on a tour of the continent as the main support for Belgian deathgrind veterans Aborted. The band parted company with Jéssica di Falchi earlier this year and have now announced that taking her place on this tour will be compatriot and former Sinaya guitar player Helena Nagagata. Nagataga released her first solo EP, "Starlust" in October of last year and commented on the job thusly:
"I'm SUPER excited to announce I'll be joining Crypta as their guest guitarist for their upcoming Euro tour starting TOMORROW! It's gonna be a blast, see you all on the road!
"Huge thanks to the girls for inviting me to be a part of this adventure."
Crypta added: "Our Brazilian fans have a Sherlock Holmes spirit, and with minimal clues they discovered that Helena Nagagata is one of the guest guitarists who will accompany us on our tours.
"Thank you very much for taking on this challenge with us, Helena! We hope you enjoy it."
Hate Unveils "Bellum Regiis" Title Track
Slavic black/death metal titans Hate are pleased to unleash the title track of their forthcoming new full-length, "Bellum Regiis," set to drop on May 2nd on Metal Blade Records.
With a dozen ferocious and lauded albums since 1996‘s "Daemon Qui Fecit Terra," Hate's lucky thirteenth album, "Bellum Regiis," finds the unrelenting Polish quartet forging a bolder and more aggressive style than ever. "Bellum Regiis‘" nine songs see vocalist/guitarist ATF Sinner, guitarist Domin, drummer Nar-Sil, and bassist Tiermes honing a modern sound rife with eerie atmosphere and depth. Produced by David Castillo (Candlemass, Carcass, Dark Tranquillity, Katatonia) at Stockholm's Grondahl Studio, "Bellum Regiis" is lyrically a more “humanity focused and personal” album than 2021‘s "Rugia" while its songs are timely aural and visual exploration of, according to the vocalist, "a struggle for power and everything that comes with it."
"Bellum Regiis" roughly translates to "A War of Royalty" or "A War of Kings” and the title track encompasses the LP‘s leitmotif. "As a song, ’Bellum Regiis‘ has both a deep melancholy and a sense of grandeur," notes the frontman. "The vocals laid down by Eliza Sacharczuk [a renowned singer and voice teacher who runs a holistic arts center in Bialystok] give the song a strong sense of time. Whether that's nostalgia, reminiscence, regret, or preparation for the future is in the eye of the beholder. These wars, these struggles, have been ongoing since the dawn of our existence. Whether they are futile or not, they are scars on our very nature. ’Bellum Regiis‘ represents the whole album in the best way possible." More...

Vio-Lence Leads A Thrash Metal Charge In London
Even the legends still have first times for everything. When thrash metal exploded onto the scene in the 1980s to take on the wretched plague of glam, many of the American names were able to cross the pond and perform in Europe, including Britain, who themselves wanted either an evolution of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, or an alternative to the synthpop that dominated the airwaves. Of course, the Bay Area was one of the two main homes for American thrash, along with the East Coast, and it gave the world such groups as Metallica, Megadeth and of course, Vio-Lence, whose debut album, "Eternal Nightmare" is still considered a classic of the genre to this day. In 1990, they would release their sophomore full length, "Oppressing The Masses" and now, thirty five years later, Sean Killian and co. marked the occasion with their first headlining tour of the UK and Ireland, along with other European dates, and they had some very impressive company joining them.
All too often, unknown openers are dismissed, especially when it comes to a weekday show and people are debating whether to stop home on their way from work or whatever, but those who got to the show on time today were able to witness history. Tonight's curtain jerkers were Kuazar, who were not only performing their first show in London too, but became the first metal band from Paraguay to perform in the UK. While it's always cool to be a part of history, the big question is, are they actually any good? Well, yes, demonstrably so. Kuazar are clearly very proud of their homeland, and the South American nation couldn't have picked better ambassadors for their metal scene.
The trio boasts a very impressive catalogue, with material from their most recent album, "Hybrid Power," proving particularly impressive. "Obscure & Violent" sounded fantastic, while the other tracks had more of a story behind them, such as the call for mental health support and anti-suicide anthem, "Silence," as well as the rousing "Machete Che Pope (Acosta Ñu,)" a song about the horrific slaughter of children in their homeland. Musically, they're very much at home on a thrash bill, but there's a bit more to them than that, offering some heavy grooves and pummeling rhythms, along with an intense stage presence that invites everyone around them to come closer, which they did very quickly. This was one of the most impressive openers I've seen for a while and I hope they're able to return to Europe soon. More...

Fictional G.I. Joe Band Cold Slither Premiere Song
Cold Slither, the once-fictional metal band introduced in a 1985 episode of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, have returned with a second real-world single, “Knock ‘Em Dread.” The release comes as part of the 40th anniversary celebration of the original episode that birthed the concept.
Originally portrayed as a brainwashing musical act formed by the villainous Zartan and his gang of mercenaries, the Dreadnoks, the group has now been fully realized for a debut studio album. Production duties were handled by Gus Ríos (Gruesome, ex-Malevolent Creation).
Unlike the TV plotline, this new track doesn’t come packed with subliminal messages meant to manipulate minds for Cobra — just riffs, attitude, and nostalgia-laced heaviness.
This musical revival is part of a broader Cold Slither resurgence that includes:
- A limited edition action figure set headed to San Diego Comic-Con
- A one-shot comic book
- Additional tie-in content and surprises still to come
