Remembering Never Vs. Lit
It seems there was a little trouble between rock band Lit and Remembering Never this weekend. Both groups were playing in Tallahassee on Friday night (Remembering Never is on tour with Most Precious Blood, It Dies Today, and Dead To Fall), and according to members of both MPB and IDT, apparently Lit had some disparaging things to say about straight edge, etc. during their show. Consequently, some things were done to Lit's tour bus and they aren't too happy.
Devilinside Drop Off Of Current Tour
Minneapolis' Devilinside have officially dropped off the remainder of their current tour with Diecast, E-Town Concrete, and Twelve Tribes. Candiria Introduce New Guitarists
Candiria have posted the following message on their official web site:
"Tomorrow we start our next run of dates with Nonpoint and Dry Kill Logic. We are excited to get back on the road and bring it for ya'll once again. This is a short one only lasting about two weeks, but we are planning some killer shows. And we are capping the month off with performances on this year's Stillborn fest.
"Those of you who will be coming out to these shows will be the first people to see the debut of our two new guitarists. Yes, you heard me right. Candiria has two new guitar players and they rip shit up. One of them is permanent and one is a fill-in for Eric while he gears up for another back surgery.
"Our forum members will be happy to hear that one of our new guys is forum member Darren Carter a.k.a DC11. Our other new bro is Steve Fakelman, formerly of the group Trudge. These guys have done a fantastic job getting the material together in next to no time and we are so excited for their debut.
"So these are going to be some dynamite shows to say the least. I hope to see all of you guys out there when we pass through your towns."
Candiria are currently out on tour in support of their latest release, "What Doesn't Kill You", which was released in July on Type A Records.

Novembers Doom Part Ways With Bassist
Chicago doomsters Novembers Doom have parted ways with bass player Mike LeGros. Mike played bass with the band for the past two years, and contributed to the recording of the upcoming CD, "The Pale Haunt Departure". "It was brought to our attention that he was not comfortable in the band due to creative differences, and the dedication to his instrument we required suffered because of this," the group said in a statement. "Very simply, it was time for a change, on both sides. Mike is an amazing person, and we are forever grateful for everything he did for Novembers Doom during his time with us. We wish him nothing but the best with DISINTER, NACHTMYSTIUM, and any other project he aligns himself with!
"We are in the process of filling the vacant bass position, and this will not hinder us from touring, and promoting 'The Pale Haunt Departure' in 2005. Any interested parties should email: info@novembersdoom.com."
"The Pale Haunt Departure" was mixed by Swedish producer/musician Dan Swanö (Bloodbath, Edge Of Sanity, Nightingale) and is being mastered by James Murphy (Death, Obituary, Testament). An early 2005 release through The End Records is expected.

The current To/Die/For lineup once again features vocalist Jarno "Jape" Perätalo, who allegedly decided to reclaim the T/D/F name for his Tiaga project after being offered a record deal by Spinefarm Records. Joining Perätalo in the new To/Die/For formation are guitarist Juppe "J.P." Sutela, ex-New Dawn Foundation drummer/ex-To/Die/For drum tech Santtu Lonka, guitarist Mika "Alli" Ahtiainen, ex-H.I.M./ New Dawn Foundation keyboardist Juska Salminen, and bassist Jarkko "Josey" Strandmann (ex-New Dawn Foundation).

If everything works out well, he'll become the permanent skinsman for Grimfist. We are extremely excited and can't wait to start bashing our heads together! The mighty Ares from Aeternus is joining us on bass as a session musician. This will be Grimfist's debut-gig, so we wanna see you guys go fucking nuts over there!!

New Anvil Album To Be Called "This Is Thirteen"?
Anvil's next release will be their 13th studio album. They may be calling it "This Is Thirteen," or "TIT" for short. They plan on having 13 songs on the CD and the cover will be a superstitious theme, as in a broken mirror, black cat and the anvil under a ladder.
Nile Album Update From Karl
From the official Nile website, posted by Karl Sanders:
"Thursday, Dec 2
All the New Nile songs for the new record have been 'finished writing/arranging' for well over a week now - except for the very last song - the big lumbering end of the world doom apocalypse type Nile epic- which we finished Sunday nite. From now until we enter the studio, we will be playing the songs over and over, getting them insanely tight and full of Dark Evil Malevolennt Conviction. I can tell folks that so far , The band has really benefitted from all the long hours of rehearsal time we have put in every night with George - the drums are super locked down, which in turn allows Dallas and I and Jon to be cement tight - and I have not heard us sound this good in years.
"Monday, George Dallas and I go down to start tracking drums with Neal Kernon and Bob Moore at the Soundlab. Jon will likely be joining us on weekends and evenings as his work schedule permits for drum tracking. We hope to have all the drum tracks finished by Dec 18th, when we will break for the holidays. The plan is then to reconvene in Columbia Jan 8th to track everything else, and then Mix at Rax Trax in Chicago.
"Sat Dec 5
We just finished the last rehearsal before the record, and everything is sounding really ready. We will rest on sunday, then pack up and head for the Soundlab in Columbia to start tracking drums.
Can't wait."

Entombed: 'Unreal Estate' To Receive US Release
Candlelight Records has set a February 22, 2005 as the US release date for Entombed's "Unreal Estate", a special live recording of the band's now infamous sold-out performance at Stockholm's Royal Opera Hall. The beautifully packaged digipak release features an elaborate picture book that documents from start to finish the performance and its rehearsals. Photographer Mats Backer compiled the photographs day and night, cataloging the band, the dancers and beautiful architecture of the hall.
It is assumed one would ask how a death metal band could come to perform at a famed Opera house alongside classically trained ballerinas. It's a question The members of Entombed still ask themselves when pondering a recording that now stands as a unique and special moment in the band's decade-long history. What started as an off-the-wall idea of choreographers Bogdan Szyber and Carina Reich resulted in one of the most lavish and unique ensembles surely in both Entombed's and Stockholm's Royal Opera Hall. "I went down last night and hung out with the Cannibal [Corpse] and Napalm [Death] guys. I haven't seen either one of them for a while so it was good to get to see them. Unfortunately Napalm's bus broke down and they didn't make it in time for the show but a least I did get to have a few cool ones with them."
Obituary are expected to enter the studio in early 2005 to begin recording their first collection of new songs since 1997's "Back From the Dead", tentatively due next summer through Roadrunner Records.
Rondinelli Doesn't Consider Sabbath Heavy Metal
Electricbasement.com recently chatted with veteran hard rock drummer BOBBY RONDINELLI (Rainbow, BOC, Sabbath, The Lizards) about his recent work with THE LIZARDS, as well as his thoughts on music. While he was behind the kit for BLACK SABBATH's Cross Purposes album and tour, he doesn't view the band as heavy metal, even if they are indeed 'heavy,' "...I mean they’re heavy, but I always thought of [Judas] Priest as more metal. When I was growing up I used to think certain bands were heavy, but heavy metal to me meant something different, and now it means a lot more than it used to."
His current project, his time time around with The Lizards, finds him promoting the critically acclaimed Cold Blooded Kings album, which alos features ex-RIOT throat MIKE DIMEO.

Helloween Start Recording
Acclaimed German producer/engineer Charlie Bauerfeind (Saxon, Hammerfall, Rage, Blind Guardian) has posted the following update at his official web site:
"Finally we started the pre-production phase of the next Helloween record about a week ago. The guys are already in songwriting and rehearsal mode since [last] month and are working very hard to shape up some truly great songs. I joined them for the first time on 24th of November in their rehearsal room and got some great vibes. Sascha (Gerstner, guitar) and Stefan (Schwarzmann, drums) seem to be solidly integrated now into Helloween and everything was sounding really tight. The keyboards also melt very well into the sound-picture. German keyboard veteran Friedl Amon, who used to mastermind hardrock/'metal' shootingstar formation Revolver in the early '80s, adds some great stuff to the lot. He will handle the keyboard arrangements at his studio in Germany throughout the next months.
"I think we're gonna be starting to record the basic tracks at around middle of December and after a short Christmas break, commence our work 'till March 2005."
