Static-X To Release New Album Next Spring
Static-X entered the studio in Los Angeles last month to begin recording their fourth full-length album with producer Ulrich Wild. The band are "excited to be working, for the first time, in the studio with new drummer Nick Oshiro," according to a posting on their web site. In addition, former member Koichi Fukuda is back in the fold for programming and keyboard duties during the recording process. Songtitles from the new, as-yet-untitled album include "Hollow", "I'm The One", "Otsego Amigo", "I Want To Fucking Break It" and "Night Terrors". The album is slated for a spring 2005 release via Warner Bros. Records.
Static-X's last collection of new recordings, "Shadow Zone", was released in October 2003. A remix-and-rarities disc, "Beneath, Between, Beyond", featuring the band's soundtrack releases as well as early demos, exclusive remixes and never-before-heard material, came out in July.
Crytopsy Confirmed For New England Metal Fest
King Diamond and Cryptopsy have been confirmed for the 2005 edition of the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, a two-day event set to be held April 23-24 at the Palladium in Worcester, MA. Also expected to perform at the festival are King Diamond's touring mates on the upcoming U.S. trek, Nile, Behemoth and The Black Dahlia Murder. Cryptopsy will perform on April 23 while King Diamond will take the stage on April 24. More confirmations will be announced soon.
New SYL Website, Update From Gene Hoglan
Strapping Young Lad's newly re-vamped website is now online. The band's new upcoming studio album, entitled "Alien," is scheduled to be released in March 2005 through Century Media Records.

Fall of Empyrean Album Release News
Fall of Empyrean's first full-length album, 'A Darkness Remembered' has been released, in cooperation with Oak Knoll Productions. The album contains 8 tracks of melodic and atmospheric doom:

New Swedish Doom Fanzine
Emptiness is the name of a new upcoming Swedish Doom fanzine. It will cover everything from Candlemass, St.Vitus and Trouble to Skepticism, Khanate and Sunn O))).

Behemoth Post Sound Samples And Tour Pictures
Polish Black metallers BEHEMOTH have posted sound samples from their latest album "Demigod". Check out ‘Conquer All’ and ‘Slaves Shall Serve’ here.
Furthermore, vocalist Nergal has posted the following update:
"The tour went just smooth...it seems like all the bands are happy with how its been goin so far. This is fuckin excellent package. Its still one more week to go...we expect some craziness as well as some sunshine when we arrive to the shores of Barcelona, ha ha..."

The Great Redneck Hope Vocalist Leaves
Vocalist Derek Barnett has decided to leave The Great Redneck Hope for personal reasons. Here's a statement from the band regarding the matter:
"This was a really hard decision for everyone to make and one that Derek dealt with more than anyone, but he really would like to concentrate on going back to school and dealing with his personal life right now. We loved having Derek in the band and it mos def won't be the same. While it sucks that this had to happen, it did happen without bad blood, and we're all really thankful for that."
Look for the group to announce a replacement in the near future. Otherwise, the band is currently booking a winter tour and will soon be recording for their upcoming split with The Assailant.
Isle Of Man Signs With Garden of Exile Records
Dutch death/grind band Isle Of Man have signed a distribution and promotion deal with Garden of Exile Records. Formed in mid-2002, the band recorded four songs earlier this year which, in addition to another track, will appear on their new MCD, "Breathe Plastic." You can download one of the tracks here.
Rammstein "Reise, Reise" And Euro Tour Info
As you are probably aware, the new Rammstein album "Reise, Reise" will be in stores in the USA on November 16, 2004. The album includes the European smash hit "Mein Teil" as well as the first US single, "Amerika" and will be available as Limited Edition DigiPak as well as Jewel case. If you haven't had a chance to hear them yet, head on over to the RammsteinPlayer, where you can watch the video clips for these and other Rammstein songs.
