Dissection Joined By Mayhem Singer At Budapest Gig
Reactivated Swedish death metallers Dissection were joined by newly reappointed Mayhem singer Attila Csihar (ex-Tormentor, Abygor) for renditions of two old-school black metal hymns, "Elizabeth Bathory" (Tormentor) and "Freezing Moon" (Mayhem), during the band's appearance at Kultiplex in Budapest, Hungary Wednesday night (Nov. 17). According to one eyewitness, "the packed house went absolutely crazy."
Dissection have just released their much-anticipated comeback single/EP, "Maha Kali", via Escapi Music/Screaming Ferret Wreckords. Armed with a fresh lineup, consisting of mainman Jon Nödtveidt (vocals and guitar), Set Teitan (guitar, Aborym, Bloodline), Brice Leclercq (bass guitar, Nightrage) and Thomas Asklund (drums, Dark Funeral, Infernal, Dawn), Dissection describe the new CD as "a hymn to the wrathful black Hindu goddess of Mahapralaya, the great dissolution of cosmos, Jai Maha Kali!" An audio sample of the title track is available at this location.
Nödtveidt recently told Finland's Sonera Plaza that the group's next full-length effort will surface in the fall of 2005. "We will continue touring all around the world (probably South America and so on) during the winter/spring 2005 and we will also be playing summer festivals all around Europe and so on. We have about 11 new songs that we are going to record in the spring so the next album [will likely come] out in the autumn."
Dissection filmed their headlining performance in Stockholm on Oct. 30, 2004 for an upcoming DVD, tentatively due next year. The as-yet-untitled disc will also feature a band documentary.

Cannibal Corpse singer George "Corpsegrinder" Fischer is suffering from viral lung infection and is said to be is in a lot of pain, according to the band's spokesperson. Sadly, he was unable to play Tuesday night's show in Pittsburg, so the group did an instrumental set.
Although George is said to be "alright" and "not lying sick or anything," he cannot be around smoke until he gets better. There will be "No Smoking" signs at the clubs where they will be playing next, and all fans approaching him after shows are being asked to refrain from smoking while in his presence.
"The band will do their very best like always to finish off the remaining seven dates of the tour," the spokesperson continued. "George will give it his all to finish them, but if he cannot, then it would be understandable.
"There will be announcements at each club the day before the show regarding his condition, and if he will be able to do the show or not. And, depending on if you wish to see the band with or without George, fans will have the option of attending the show, or going back home."

The band, who are currently touring North America with Napalm Death, Macabre, Kataklysm and Goatwhore, did not give specifics as to what Fischer's illness was, but a member of the Cannibal Corpse road crew announced to the crowd that Fischer was "extremely sick and has spent the day in the hospital." Exhumed Announce New Drummer
Exhumed is excited to announce a new member to the band's dysfunctional family. Joining the band as the new permanent drummer is Canadian native Matt Connell (ex-Fuck the Facts and Experiment in Terror). Exhumed would like to extend a “fuck yeah!” to Connell, who replaces founding member Col Jones (who left the band in 2003, shortly after the recording of "Anatomy is Destiny"). Connell agreed, adding “I'm totally stoked! It's awesome to be part of a band I have always held in such high regard. I look forward to helping the guys unleash some good ol' Gore Fuckin' Metal upon the masses.” The other Matt in the band, sole-remaining original member Matt Harvey, welcomed Connell aboard. “Mike (Beams, guitar and vocals) and I are both excited to be finally solidifying a permanent line-up, and the other Matt is going to be a killer addition to the band. While the Canadian jokes will undoubtedly fly fast and furious in the tour van, no one will be joking when they hear some seriously intense one-foot blasts from this guy! I personally guarantee that it will be a total autopsy holocaust doss of maddening mega-grinding!”
Connell will make his recording debut with Exhumed this December when the band will be recording an album of covers to be titled "Regurgitated Requiems: Garbage Daze Re-Regurgitated." The album is slated to feature covers from Siege, Master, Metallica, Hexx, Epidemic, Unseen Terror, Amebix, Sadus, Samhain, G.B.H., The Cure, and others to be announced soon.
Since the departure of Col Jones, who provided percussion for the band from 1991-2003, Exhumed has enlisted the services of Danny Walker (of Uphill Battle and Cinema Strange) and Death Metal hired gun John Longstreth (currently touring with Dying Fetus) on various tours throughout the US, Europe, Japan, Australia, and Iceland.
First Kreator, Vader Tour Dates Announced
Band's participation in the X-Mass Festivals 2004 will close this year touring season. Vader will hit the road along with bands like Marduk, Napalm Death and others. The tour starts on the 5th of December in Paris and ends on the 19th of December in Antwerp (Belgium). After the aformentioned trip the band will take well-deserved rest until March, to charge their batteries before pretty intense touring plans scheduled for the rest of 2005. Some of those plans have been recently confirmed and for instance in March the band will play a tour through Great Britain. US tour along with bands like Kreator and Death Angel starts on the 1st of April. Probably on May/ June band's postponed tour through Japan and Indonesia will finally come into effect and maybe there will be also a chance to set up some RPA dates. In the second half of 2005 Vader will play a pretty short tour through Poland and later on September/October the guys are going to raze some other European countries to the ground. Right after the European tour the band will headline another US tour so as you can see, Panzer Division Vader will be extremely busy until December. There are also some plans to fix up a few additional dates in Scandinavia, The Balkans and some of the Eastern European countries. In the end of 2005 the band is going to write some new songs for a successor of "The Beast", scheduled for release in early 2006.

Hammerfall Listening Session Update
Oscar from Hammerfall has issued an update on the band's official website www.hammerfall.net:
The last weekend of October saw us host a listening session for the journalists in Studio Lundgård. Close to 40 people from all over the world were present to listen to the material we have spent the past two months recording. It’s hard to tell what they really felt after hearing the ten songs, but everyone seemed to be satisfied with the production and the direction we have taken this time. It is the heaviest HammerFall album so far, and I got the impression people definitely concurred. At the time of writing, however, I am lodged up in Mi Sueno Studios on Tenerife once again, and the mixing process is in full swing. We have another week to go, laying the finishing touches to our new album.
Also, Week VII of the studio diary is now up, and in the coming weeks I will complete the recording experience with a report on the aforementioned listening session and a conclusion from Tenerife. Until we meet again!

ChartAttack.com has posted the following article on Boston-based band Isis:
Isis always seem to have the coolest sonic goodies to dish out to their growing legion of fans. In the past year, the Boston metal quintet have released a whole whack of limited edition material that has been eagerly snapped up by music lovers across the globe. To date, they've put out a live CD entitled "Live 1" and the first three volumes of their "Oceanic" Remix 12-inches that feature artists such as Mike Patton, Tim Hecker and Dalek offering up their interpretations of all of the tracks from 2002's highly acclaimed "Oceanic" album. The fourth and final volume in the series should be available shortly.
2005 will see Isis heading to Japan in February with Converge and Mastodon. Shortly afterwards they'll embark on their first tour of Australia. Upon their return to the U.S., they're planning on playing a few domestic dates including a performance at SXSW before leaving for a six-week European tour. It's probably safe to assume that the guys will have a new selection of eBay-worthy items by the time these shows roll around.
